Hi everyone,

just a quick note to tell that we are well aware of everything mentioned above. We are working hard for this coin, I personally haven't taken a single day of rest since launch, you have no idea of the amount of work needed behind the scenes. So give us some time, Bitcoin is 5 years old, MintCoin is 9 days old, and we will support this coin as long as it's needed for it to succeed.

Finally, I see some hope in MintCoin now, lol.

+1  for the dev!

It's a lot of work guys,  maybe we should help the dev out a little instead of requesting so much constantly?   I'm sure there some talented folks here and can work on promotional materials, maybe you blog,  etc, etc.

It would go a long way, and really help promote the brand.

Let's step it up guys.

Luxury Moonbase!

Check out this site for legit free BTC. It's like an hourly free lottery ticket that always pays out at least 300 satoshi, and could net you over .3 BTC if you're really lucky. Just gotta fill out a captcha each time. (basically a faucet with chance of real reward)

I hope they payout was is owed to the miners.  Cool

I''m not going to hold my breath, not even a mention on their home page as to what happened....I've moved on.

I just started my miners back there again, and I am getting a ton of extra PPLNS shares per block to my acual shares right now. looks like they are spreading old PPLNS shares on new blocks slowly or something odd. http://imgur.com/C3HGuji others seem to be getting it as well.

And again http://imgur.com/rqczeiy. I'd been getting far less per block before.

Someone else getting a big boost of PPLNS on a block http://imgur.com/rBfIpVL

RPC problem; getbalance is broken.

On a mintcoind fresh from git checkout, with synced blockchain:

Code:
someone@somebox:~$ mintcoind listaccounts
{
    "" : 0.00000000,
    "gamebank" : 999999.00000000
}
someone@somebox:~$ mintcoind getbalance gamebank
-9216810327147.70507812
someone@somebox:~$ mintcoind getbalance test
-9216811327146.70507812

This is incorrect. getbalance gamebank should return 999999.0, and getbalance test should return 0.

what os you use? I tried on windows, looks fine to me. It did show my balance.

Yes I see the problem now. The problem only exist if you specific the account name. If you do "mintcoind getbalance", then it shows total correctly, but if you use "mintcoind getbalance acctname" then the displayed number is wrong.

So for your purpose, just use getblance without further arguments, it will be fine.

Hi,

I locked my wallet, but now it says it is not minting anymore. Anybody know how to get rid of that?

''1.  Open the client.
2.  Go to Help > Debug Window > Console and enter what is below

walletpassphrase "your wallet password" 50000 true

3.  Enter the wallet password above without the quotes.  The 50000 is the total time it will be unlocked.
4.  You should now see the lock icon on the bottom right corner of the wallet look like it's unlocked.''

Thanks! Smiley

Hi,

Noticed my wallet was locked again. Is there a way to unlock it indefinately?

Nobody knows a way to fix this?

Anybody knows how to fix this indefinitely?

Just use 31536000 or higher or something, that is a year in seconds.

To have my fait restored in this coin I wiil need:

- Know the exact number of pre-mined coins and how they will be used.
- Get a new client that just works.
- New website and forum

700.000.000 premined according to the block explorer (block 1 = 700 mil coins)

Hi guys,

I just added the name of the first volunteers

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=450381.msg5169298#msg5169298

I did not have any reply from the dev yet. But there is still something we can do before he answers:
create a nice-looking website!

Yes, I know there is already one (mintcoin.biz) but it is not attractive enough - and without any contact from the dev, there is nothing else we can do... on this site.

But what we can do is create another website. I can volunteer for setting it up, but I won't have time of proficiency to make a nice one and to enter text in it. Nevertheless, I am ready to lend my webspace.
So here it goe: I will create a brand new WordPress blog with default Twenty-Fourteen theme. It won't be wordpress.com, it will be wordpress.org. Which means plugin and themes can be added.
I will give the keys to anyone interested in writing or designing. At the beginning, the blog will be on my domaine name (latapie.name) but if momentum arises, I am ready to buy a domain name. Yep, I am that motivated.

But I need people to join in.

ShibeonBarkmont has kindly accepted to become community manager, so he will help me dealing with your requests, centralising suggestion, forward information to me... and most importantly make the community more vibrant than ever!

So welcome Shibeon on "mintcoin redux". Welcome all of you!

I will notify you once the website is active. Meanwhile, I expect contact from the dev. And remember; this is open-source, anyone can step in!

That is just great ! With people like you mintcoin will go far Smiley
I do not have any skills to help with that but whatever else i can do i will do it. Just write whatever is needed and if there is anything i can do i will do it gladly.

Right now i just hope that the dev's are gonna accept the help that is being offered and with a new community manager we will see things go in the right way !

I can't stand those trolls screaming "OMFG THIS COIN IS DEAD 1 BIL BTC SELL ORDERS 0,5 BTC BUY ORDERS OMFG OMFG NO DEV OMFG"

This is a freakin 9 days old coin, what the hell do you expect? Man, just chill!

Basically other coin fanboys saying anything to destroy coin faith.

People use your brains, this coin is not in demand yet simply because its not POS yet.  Go look at the first 100 pages of another POS coin and see the shit they had to go through.

1) This is quite possibly the smoothest launch of any coin.
2) You can mine another coin while this builds.
3) A decent exchange with the same name coincidently? Www.mintpal.com
4) A Dev that avoids the trolls as he should instead of flame wars.

Really, I'm all in here.  I'd even put down a 2 BTC bet that April 1st. This coin will be sitting pretty at 250+ Satoshi

Well said,
I hope you are right.
I think the dev's are working really hard behind the scenes, and they will come with some big releases soon.

The site is live. It is VERY rough now, not even a decent address (this will get fixed if there is success - I have plans for the name), but at least it works

http://of-might-and-magic.com/mintcoin/wordpress/.

Anyone who want to join: create an account then send me a PM. I will upgrade your rights accordingly. ShibeonBarkmont, kopam, nickenburg, lumeire, please create an account,  I thus will check if everything works fine.

kopam: you DO have skills for helping! What you might not have is time or motivation, but skill, you.
We do not need coders only. You can write? You can promote? Maybe you can even design? You can also welcome newcomers, help with transaction issue, let alone contacting merchants and dealing with marketing, advocating.. There is a lot of things you can do without being a coder!

lumeire: thanks for your offer. could you start by posting on the blog your infographics? Then take contact with ShibeonBarkmont for arranging the best course of action when it comes to promotion - your taks are complementary.

Let's start with gathering a team. And remember: this is open-source. The only this that is not open is the experience of the dev - the rest lays in our hands. Maybe some of you already participated in another coins - so you have experience too.

Don't forget: we are not working against the team. We are working with him. We are working to show him/her that we are good enough to alleviate some of his burden and make mintcoin more dynamic.

Let us make mintcoin succeed!

EDIT: I have a meeting in 30 minutes, so I will be AFK for several hours.

Monero: the first crytocurrency to bring bank secrecy and net neutrality to the blockchain.HyperStake: pushing the limits of staking.
