I would love for someone to address my question:

I do not understand why this coin has a max coin limit?

Why not 5% interest indefinitely?

How do you calculate the PoS reward? Is it daily?

Mininum interest payout period is 20 days. Maximum 40 days.  Reward is calculated to yearly.
Where do you get that 40 days from?

From source code.

I believe you are referring to this:

Code:
unsigned int nStakeMinAge = 60 * 60 * 24 * 20; // minimum age for coin age: 20d
unsigned int nStakeMaxAge = 60 * 60 * 24 * 40; // stake age of full weight: 40d

It looks like the last integer is only used for some reliability weighting algorithm, and not actually when calculating the interest.

Code:
   // v0.3 protocol kernel hash weight starts from 0 at the min age
    // this change increases active coins participating the hash and helps
    // to secure the network when proof-of-stake difficulty is low
    int64 nTimeWeight = min((int64)nTimeTx - txPrev.nTime, (int64)nStakeMaxAge) - nStakeMinAge;
    CBigNum bnCoinDayWeight = CBigNum(nValueIn) * nTimeWeight / COIN / (24 * 60 * 60);

I think this must be the test checking how many coins qualify for interest, and there is no reference to nStakeMaxAge here

Code:
       if (block.GetBlockTime() + nStakeMinAge > nTime)
            continue; // only count coins meeting min age requirement

        int64 nValueIn = txPrev.vout[txin.prevout.n].nValue;
        bnCentSecond += CBigNum(nValueIn) * (nTime-txPrev.nTime) / CENT;
Correct. I misunderstood hes question earlier. I thought he asked for payout periods, not interest percent calculation.
Stake reward calculation formula starts from L968 @ main.cpp.  Maxmintproofofstake is given on L38 @ main.h

Well, why shouldn't it always pay 5% interest?  But I was under the impression the 5% stopped on the 4th year.

Ye i think we will see it halving tommorow or the day after, according to the starting date of this coin.

At current state 5% yearly interest will last until total of 70B coins is reached. And even this cap can be raised any time.

thank you for explaining to me.  I guess I'm still not sure why put a cap on it even.  If 5% is a good idea for the next 40 years, why not the next 400?

The last 5 pages have been awesome to read.

Coinmarket.io and CoinmarketCap.com??   Great stuff.

Great job team!  The future looks bright for this coin.  Get your hashes in now because once it is on coinwarz.com, you'll be fighting for them.
