Yes I believe neilh would like to contribute to this.. Maybe you can get your friends over at that other coin to pitch in too if you can trust them

Anyway as we can see our friends in other coins that love visiting are looking forward to us developing an open source minting wallet to share with them.

Sorry didn't realise there is a restriction on what threads we're allowed
to visit and post on!

I'm interested in PoS coins in general, and would love to see a PoS wallet.
I've seen other coin devs mention how the minting will affect battery life.
So I'm curious to see the outcome, and yes would like to see a few PoS
coins with a minting wallet that I hold and not just the one you're referring
to.

Bingo. Ripcord! Not sure I want to contribute to something that other coins will almost immediately heist and pawn off as their own. Think it's time to fallback and regroup.

You could say the same thing about the coins themselves!

My post was to give info on the current gpl wallet, IF the Mint wallet was
based on that then fairs fair, you build on that and release the code for
others to use if they choose.

Best option start from scratch and the source never has to see the light
of day, easy and solves all your concerns!  Wink

OK! Now you're talking my language. Closed source, however it works, with Mintcoin Foundation buying the IP for the Android wallet so that NO other coin can just heist and pawn the code, I'll contribute 50,000 Mintcoins to such an effort.

Ladies ladies, one at a time.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Of course there are no restrictions and you're welcome to contribute in any way! you can even contribute some mintcoins toward making an exclusive Mintcoin android wallet a reality.

I'd contribute regardless of license, once I've see further details/development.

Too bad you sold your mintcoins at 4 but I'm sure that if we can make this wallet a reality.. then the extra cost of buying back in will be well worth the expense and I look forward to your future contribution

Mintcoin team,

I believe that investing in the building of a professional Mintcoin app for Android and IOS will shoot our coin up the charts and can create a bridge from this community to the big media.

Let's make this coin solid!!

Do we have an ETA for the android wallet? Also, do we know what features it will support (ie will you be able to mint coins with it or just spend them, will you be able to use a private key with it, etc etc?)

Thanks!

sorry, me again - and another bug report:

When I tried to create a "New address".
With locked wallet. I type in my password, then this comes up.

And later there are 3 status lines:

Code:
EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error
CWallet::GenerateNewKey() : AddKey failed
...\MintCoin\mintcoin-qt.exe in ThreadStakeMinter()

there is nothing it in "debug.log"!

I have tried a second time, and could reproduce the problem.

Then I unlocked the wallet first, created a "new address" - and now there was no error!

Its prob cloned off of litecoinj or
bitcoinj .. and will provide you ability to spend
but not mine. You can back up your wallet and restore etc.. but if its not done properly you will constantly have to redownload the blockchain from last checkpoint to sync you balance..

All joking aside if you can really do this let me know what it will take. I think you mentioned it was pretty labor intensive.

Why not open source? What are you thinking?

It takes 2 weeks of work.. so 3.5 btc is going rate.

Could be more if pos needs to be implemented in Java.. if its just for spending thats the rate.
