There are 200btc sell orders but only 12btc buy orders for mint on mintpal.
Sorry to say but mint is getting forgotten!

A few days ago i mentioned mint in different threads here on btt and some replied "Thank you for reminding me" and things like that.

We have to do something that draw peoples attention at least here on btt. We need more buy support in the short term or else i fear it will drop fast in price soon and people will start panic sell (maybe that will draw attention thouh but i dont know if it will be possitive attention..)

What to do...?

I would keep mining at hashco.ws but my mining pc gave up the other day.

One easy thing that everybody here can do is scan the forum in altcoin section and post information about mintcoin in different threads. There are lots of questions about pos coins and threads asking for good coins to invest in and so on.

My wallet always loses sync. And compared to the block explorer its up to date but the wallet says its not and always trying to download up to 274623 block, right now its trying to download 9273 blocks and the last block recieved was 264901 and its uptodate compared to the block explorer why is this? v 1.8 wallet I might add.

1. Open up the %appdata%\Mintcoin folder.
2. Make a backup of your Mintcoin.dat and Mintcoin.conf files and place them in a different/safe folder, just in case.
2. Open the Mintcoin.conf file in your %appdata%/Mintcoin folder.
3. Delete all node addresses in the file, leave everything else. Save changes.
4. Open your Mintcoin wallet folder, and rename your "Mintcoin -qt.exe" file to "Mintcoin -qt -checknode=0.exe" <--- You can copy and paste what I just typed, just make sure to remove quotation marks.
5. Start wallet up. Should synch after that and have no more issues.

I dont think you inderstand, the sync issue comes and goes, but the fact it appears baffles me. I know how to redo a wallet. But the dysync comes and the wallet is up to date with the current blocks and its trying to download 9000 blocks ahead of the chain.

I wish... I screwed up. It was 142000. It came in twice, but it was only a total of 142k. Still bloody good though! But my total is 108 Million, so I guess more minted coins come as the date moves on.

This coin has so much potential and a awesome community. I hope it rises to where it belongs, because in my opinion this is ridiculously undervalued ATM!

One question, does anybody know why mintcoin is not moving after 3 weeks from 13-16 sat?

I been studding the marked closely the last 5 days, there is a huge sell wall between 15-23 sat. On mint pal is the sell wall 45 BTC, on cryptsy is it 30 BTC.
In current situations will it take 75 BTC to break 23 sat, that is a lot bitcoins!
Thx for that  Smiley, so we r not gonna see any movement for a long time, i just hope it doesn't die  Cry. What's with the multipool, doesn't it work like @ BC to buy mintcoins and creates demand for mint? And it would be great if mintcoin had his own pool bcs Hashcows works poorly (in my case, it mines 3 or 4 hours than it's waiting for work, so not mining  Angry ).

Let me pump it a bit for you, with 1M buy at 14 Sat on MintPal  Tongue

Edited: Done

That's exactly my point u r just one guy pumping it up, but if this Community is really so great and want this coin to live, then let's all start pumping it, it only takes 0.5-1 BTC from each member (at least 50 and more members) to buy that wall and move mintcoin from dead point!!! I have already sold half of my BCs to do just that. So why don't we start buying this wall with the support of the devs (unless u r waiting for some big whale to buy it for u, but that might take some time (months maybe), if it come of course.)

I think a lot of people are busy making money off of the bc train, once the profit growth becomes thinner a lot will reinvest in Mint buying through a chunk of the sell walls.

Hello all,

A summary of what is on the way:

Mintcoin Fund, the world's first legally-registered NGO for a crypto. The bylaws are been sent for registration with the French administration. The goal will be to promote Mintcoin and sustainable developement through financing of actions. As the dev said: "MintCoin Fund will bring us a lot more media coverage than Coinkite could ever do" (source)

The website will be made public soon, hopefully for Earth Day.

What is needed for the moment:
- contacting sustainable developement causes that you have an active part in (because these are the easier one to reach), ideally, they could get matching contribution for the government and would not need much money, since Mintcoin still has a low value
- donating to the Fund (the fund had been finance with the pre-mine, so these donations would not go to the funding, they would be used later projects). The donation address is: MsKZ6xRSPJAVVJ7m1oZfNqVcpJ9MyvRzha[/font]. Presently it is at zero since it was just created (please someone send a link to the a working explorer for direct access)

There is already an ongoing project, Sonoma County Reforestation Plan. THe Project leader is tokyopotato, who is working there.

Teams:
We have several thematic teams:
- Web team
- Coding team
- Marketing team
I won't give the name of the members without their authorisation. Positions are opened. If you wish to join, contact public or privately (in that latter case, please tell me if you wish your participation in the team to remain invisible - if you say nothing, I will considered you are fine with being mentionned)

Website:
We acquired mintcoin.cc website and are planning for a revamp. Our main designer will soon be on holidays for half of May (he plans to deliver before his temporary leave, though), so could someone else step in? You would be part of the Web team.
- http://www.mintwoot.com/ just got published (thanks coinmany!)

Coding:
Some of the projects are:
- Android Wallet (coding team, leader paspi). Check the latest update.
- Mintstart, an eBay-like store for mintcoin (coding team, leader unek). It will try to address the famous "merchants cash out bitcoin for fiat" issue, on top of, well, being a store:)

Requested projects
Coding
- Mintcoinpool (our own pool, not someone else's pool like hashco.ws) (link). Its realisation will all depend on the interest by the community. Notice that the very idea behind mintcoin is to reduce carbon footprint, whilst multipooling is the exact opposite.
- A new mintcoin explorer. I read here and there some questions, request and announcement (like here) but I'd like some more specific news
- Improvement on the wallet: notification for upgrade or even autoupgrade (here). Some other requests too, like x64 suppport, bootstrapping the blockchain, easier installation, chancing the logo (right now, a banner is used as the logo), password request for sending mints (answers from kergekoin)
- Raspberry version (here)

Marketing
- Mintcoin T-shirts (here, glad to see you back, lumeire!)
- Communicating on price stability (here and there, something that appeals to merchants)
- Security of the network. Mintcoin is supposed to be the network with the most stacking, hence the most secure (source Gonzoucab). It would be great to back this up with facts, something that would require a a joint project with the coding team. Anyone interested?
- Popularity of mintcoin (source moderdezigns). Once again, could we get some comparative facts and numbers? My biggest concern is confirmation bias and wishful thinking. I am ready to help setting up a project for backing up these claims. Here is one: http://www.coingecko.com/ has us at the fifteenth position - still be wary that a lof of coins are not represented so even if it is a nice-looking chart, it has its shortcoming.
- It might be interesting to do something regarding organic growth, as opposed to "unnatural growth" like various sort of bribery or "showing dedication". This is slippery slope though, which should better be handled by people good at marketing (in other words: join the marketing team Smiley

As you can see, I am trying to back up as much claims as possible with facts and sources, because I am very concerned of confirmation bias. I encourage you to do the same and backup with sources and facts Smiley

I probably forgot some things, so don't hesitate to add!

Regarding the Earth Day campaign for mintcoin: this is Sunday, please go around and take photos of either beautiful or polluted places. We will publish pictures on Earth Day.

Here is a template for the pictures for the Earth Day. I am not a graphic designer and I only have Gimp and Google Docs, so this is just to give you an idea of how it will look like - the picture is from stock archives, not mine and the text id made up - again this is just an example, but I encourage you to take a real picture and a real testimonial.
Remember: you just have to take a picture and possibly a one-liner. The rest will be handled by the web team.

I used the demotivators as the source (I just copied this one because it was the largest on Google image). You can send yours on (and a text file with your sentence if you feel inspired) to this link: picture_earthday

Well it's hard to say right now, I know others have posted but I've also been renting my rig out a lot these last couple weeks.
I think if I was to run it 24/7, I'd get about 55k for my little 3.2 mhs rig.
I have hashcows as my 2nd pool when I'm not being rented.
I've bounced back and forth a few times between MINT and ZEIT as well.
