Don't know if this is new or not but according to my source website, it JUST started airing today.

http://www.ispot.tv/ad/7TJq/overstock-com-here-comes-the-bling

It's kind of corny but what's important is that at the end they emphasize that they accept Bitcoin.

Has this been done in a TV commercial ever before??

By the end of next month at the latest we will have permanently left behind 3 digits. You can quote me on this.
The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

You mean a tiny Bitcoin logo at the bottom of the screen at the end of the commercial...

How is this "...emphasize that they accept Bitcoin..."

Comparing that to all the other previous Bitcoin TV spots, such as:

And even:

Including:

Then it seems pretty emphatic. They ran a commercial and were up-front about accepting Bitcoin on national television, BRO.

Yeah wtf, they didn't emphasize anything, they stuck the Bitcoin symbol at the bottom, which is a good thing because it means they aren't being touchy about the Bitcoin subject but people on these boards need to stop spreading well yeah, FUD is the appropriate term here.

At some point if my business ever gets going I definitely want to do some real world advertising in the UK to show I accept Bitcoin Cheesy

This should hopefully come in time. I remember when they first announced the news they were aiming for Feb/March, I went to overstocks site and was greeted by "We now ship the the UK" so ya never know, maybe March...

...by then we might actually have a real online store to shop at with electronics that are compatible in our countries!

Whilst that may be true, It's still getting Bitcoin out there even if it is a small mention, but it's still a big thing putting Bitcoin on TV. Overstock must be applauded for that at least. Hopefully it's the first of many and the mentions will get bigger and bigger.

I also think it's a nice step forward.  It will be really interesting to see what the US does with respect to trying to regulate bitcoin.
It's Overstock and the bitcoin community vs some senator today.
