How do you trade 35k BTC and only move the price $.25?

Was this bot traffic?
Was this a privately agreed upon trade?
Somebody who just put in a big order and someone else accepted it?

I was curious myself too.  I wasn't awake to see it happen live.

i saw it live.

it started on thursday. somebody bought 2.200 btc, the rest (3.300) left in the bid until somebody else sold to him.
yesterday same with 40.000 pieces.

i like this buying style very much, hope it will go on. slow growth.

So the bid came first?  Makes sense - since the price rose slightly.
Usually such a large bid will push up the price.  I guess people are getting used to the larger bids/asks and not 'running ahead' so much.  But still.  It seems like you'd need someone watching with a lot of coin to see the bid shortly after it is made.  And then sell into it.

no matter what came first!

finally the buying power was slightly more than the selling. so the price was afterwards higher.

it just happened again last price 5.64 but no orders changed. depths till the same.

screenshot of both discrepencies i noticed today.

in the bottom image you can see the last price as 5.39 but the low is 5.45 however that 2600 bid wall was still in place at this point.

MtGox has been Goxing like this for days. Showing price jumps and drops as the last price that didn't actually happen.

I'm thinking the price movement came not from the high volume orders, but from others reacting to them.

Many speculators went all in above $6 expecting the price to rise.

It's not clear how much of the volume is the same money going around and around. With all the bot activity, some of the market activity has to be that.
