Keeping coins on exchanges is stupid and ppl can blame only themselves if they loose something. It is your own risk sending coins there. Don't snivel like 13yr old schoolgirls. Accept your mistakes. Same with Cryptsy, Kraken or all others.

Although I understand your point I find it a bit troublesome if we have to move money in, make a transaction, and immediately move our money back out again for fear of having the exchange take our coins.  That would seem to be a bit of a problem for the whole concept of an exchange if this is the safeguards that are necessary which of course wouldn't work anyway.  As mentioned in a later post the exchange can go down at any time.  All you are doing is reducing your exposure but that does nothing to deal with the actual problem which is the disappearing coins.

Although it happens in the regulated world to, there are protections for investors to some extent.  If the crypto world is ever going to be accepted as a legitimate business you can't have everyone fearing the constant theft of coins.  Fear leads to hording which leads to reduced transactions which leads to dead coins.  You can say it is our fault for putting money somewhere or such and such but when your coins simply disappear that is theft and that is a crime.  It isn't the victims fault that they got robbed.  Someone had to commit the crime.

I have to add that it is bit funny to me that I've got the vast majority of my net worth held at regulated exchanges in the fiat world and I have not encountered this problem yet in over 25 years.  Three months into the crypto world and I've been robbed of some coins twice.

Its the fact that trust has been lost yet again. Why shouldn't we be able to keep coins in an exchange. I assume Day traders must have to.

Of course they do.  Exchanges are supposed to be safe.  Suggesting we should transfer funds in for each transaction at each moment is silly.  One it doesn't address the problem and two it isn't realistic for anyone that isn't just dumping their coins or buying at the current market price.

I do not understand one things.. why people blame users for keep coins on exchange?... Why scam should be NORMAL exchange behaviour? I though exchanges are making for let people trade there, and take profit from fee not from thiefing. If People should await each minute that exchange can run with coins, nobody will use them at all...

Need to do something with this whole situation in crypto nowdays. Since like there are million pamp and dump  scam coins now, there are already bunch of pump and dump exchanges appear....

Still waiting for withdraw, Still no response to multiple PMs

CoinMarket.io is watching is thread very closely and they're hoping that the anger will just fade away in thin air.

People: Stay vigilant !!! If money is not returned, Let's put Scammers where they belong: Behind Prison Bars

Oslo Fengsel Prison

Has anyone contacted the police yet ? Let's organize a group action and provide a list of victims to a police detective in his area.

Someone posted these details in this thread before:

Contact Name : Kenneth Bjorke
Organization Name : Coinmarket
Street : Knapstadveien 6F
City : Knapstad
State : Ostfold
Postal Code : 1823
Country: NO

This is terrible Coinmarket.io - the lack of transparency is completely inexcusable.

Is this the Kenneth Bjorke that is registered against Coinmarket.io domain?

He lives in Oslo, recently tweeted about CloudFlare being down, and follows CoinMarket.io.
https://twitter.com/kbjoerke
http://no.linkedin.com/in/kbjoerke

He lists PKI as a skill and follows a group "Ethical Hacker" on LinkedIn.
Looks like he works a day job as Senior IT Operations and Infrastructure for a shipping business called "Fred Olsen": http://www.fredolsen.no/
Can't be too difficult to work out his email address and ask...

Hello everyone. I am new to the BitcoinTalk forums (although I have been a long-time lurker). My brother lost coins on Coinmarket.io, so I made a website that notifies one when it comes back online:

Such a shame Sad

When it was up a handful of days ago, I was able to withdraw around 1.5mil MINT.

I chose to leave my BTC at the exchange, as it wasn't all that much and there were rampant reports of stuck tx's.

^ Lesson learned I suppose.

Sad

Really did like this exchange.  It can be amazing how fast nodejs can be.....

Such a shame Sad

Drug money stolen?

Maybe just give this site until friday before dangling them off a building... 99% sure it's a scam but if someone is going to be killed over it maybe just give them a bit more time. I am all for Justice but maybe
the youngster will come to his senses before it's too late.

If it were a scam the situation would have been different. Most people have been able to withdraw their money including me. If he'd like to scam us he could've gotten away with 100 times the money atleast. I'm sure it's not a scam, it doen't have any of those signs.

Same here. My only problem is is that my redd from before the fork is still pending. When the site was up I could deposit and withdraw (on new wallet) with no problem. I think this guy is just too busy with other things (like a day job) and did not know how much time this would cost him. Ok yes he needs to give more updates to us, but I don't think it is a scam. Just have some fate people, with all your death threads etc. this guy will think hmm fuck them...

Anyone interested in going after coinmarket.io SCAM?
A friend of mine helped me obtain address of the person who registered the domain (no, it was not WHOIS but some internal help). Unfortunatelly I don't live in the same country as the scammer, but I will gladly help with coordinating proper actions (visiting his place and/or legal action).
