There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Is there a troubleshooting page for the s3 yet

I don't think my miner is kicking in and its not beeping.

I posted here and am hoping its one of those stupid things I missed https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=344970.msg8296436#msg8296436
Thanks for any help

Edit:
Think I figured it out. I forgot to check for spaces in my pool settings. I got a green light now and 448.71  (avg 5s)

Hey , anyone notice thier s3 smells different than the s1. Its hashing fine but theres a noticeable smell I never noticed on my s1.

I'm planning to take the cover off tomorrow and make sure wires aren't sitting on anything hot.

I can note its noticibly quieter though not dinning room party quiet and does indicate it has wireless even though theres no mount for one and if I find a connection Iike the s1 I may find myself getting a laptop antenna to mount one somewhere in the device.

Thanks for any heads up on my concern.

Yup my earlier batch smelled for about a week....like paint drying actually.

I have not got my batch 5 tracking number yet. However, if it's like the other batch of S3s i received, i will likely have the S3 in hand before the tracking number is provided.

NiceHash is getting good prices for sha256 rigs right now. I don't know what's going on, but people are paying as high as 0.0325 BTC/TH/Day. So that's better than you will get from GHASH, BTCGUILD or Eligius at the moment. Easy to hook up your rigs to Nicehash too. Just saying.

Pay works out either way. I try to add on with Th since its taking a day for my pool to find a block without. That price is manageable to the fact you get double what you put in.

Click a referral link and find out(mines in my sig). As with any other item for sale result may vary, but at least with mining rig rentals you have pools you setup yourself when no ones renting your equipment so your not loosing trying a rent site with your equipment.

Thanks for the heads up on the smell. Hopefully it will pass soon Undecided.

Question for those who have a tracking number or already got your batch 5 S3s:

When did you guys order it?

I ordered on July 27th but still have no tracking number or any response to my queries re: status of my order.

Wow you ordered 5 days later than me. Wonder what happened to my order?... not getting any replies from anyone at 112Bit or Bitmain. I guess I'm in someone's bad books for whatever. very dejected.

BTW, Bitmain announced batch 7 yesterday. 27 hrs later it was sold out.

Get a free UPS Account it will automatically pull anything being sent to you. Bitmain shipments have been held up in customs. If you contact UPS they will tell you whats going on.

I'm hoping as long as they get orders they'll have s3's. Also I don't care about how much bitmaintech sells. 112bit still shows available though I'd hope for more communications since I may have fan hitting and I will need to check up on it.

If anyone follows my link above with the intention to rent, it will probably be disabled tomorrow afternoon eastern standard, so don't rent past there.

I have that already. It just shows my previous order which was delivered in late July. No sign of this order at all.

Ya true. I just read that Bitmain has also announced a new S3+ and an upgrade kit for S1s:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=330665.msg8329235#msg8329235

Regarding 112bit, they must be on vacation or something. No replies to emails and Juan has not been on the forum since Aug 6th.

I might try calling them....as annoying as it is to pick up a phone in this modern era- lol.

I gotta wonder how the s3+ will effect firmware for the current s3. I already had a der moment where I had to put an optional dns in to get it to mine and it would have been nice if they went with a more current cgminer(kano apparently hasn't gotten his s3 yet) and non ssl'd api settings area(I had to use multiminers support page to start learning how to tweak the api[though multiminer still couldn't control my s1 with their instructions]).

Well it seems a bit more active. They have 3 forums rolling.

Update on my 112bit order (#1400) :

Overnight i got an email for my batch 5 order saying it just entered the shipping process. That's a day after the batch 6 S3s started shipping:

" ANTMINER S3 Batch 6 sales open. 0.66BTC per S3 will be shipped on August 12th, shipping cost included."

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=656461.msg8209729#msg8209729

It looks like my order did not get included with all the other batch 5s. So, I will be asking for compensation from 112bit.
