What is the current record on the longest time to hash a genesis block? i'm on 4 days and beginning to wonder wtf is going on.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

When I developed CancerCureCoin, I disabled POW for the genesis block so I didn't need to generate it.
