According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Good luck with that.  At least you won't struggle with widespread adoption problems like the bitcoin guys are dealing with.

Unlike 1 satoshi.  1 Dollar has lost over 99% of it's value.

Merchants are always protected from fraud (reversed payments on items they actually delivered). They simply include it as a cost of doing business. If there is a lot of fraud they will increase the price of their product accordingly. Every buyer pays the price for fraud through higher prices.

With Bitcoin, a merchant knows he won't be the victim of fraud (no reversed payments). This will reduce the cost of doing business. He can pass this savings to the customers who pay with the fraud proof payments. This will result in lower prices for the buyer.

The buyer must protect themselves buy being an informed consumer. Informed consumers make smart purchases. When everyone is making smart purchases, there will be fewer shit products. Fewer shit products mean less resources wasted. Less resources wasted means a healthier planet.

As I already consider myself an informed consumer, I want this very much.

Bitcoin: slowly making the world a better place.

I'm pretty sure I'm wasting my time in a troll thread anyway.

If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins.

We could make a blockchain based on every serial number of every FERN ever created.

I don't know how this would apply, but it was an idea.
