Facebook is lifting its ban on cryptocurrency ads which went into effect in January. After months of evaluation, the company decided to allow some crypto ads on its platform. Advertisers must submit a request form with details of their businesses and the types of crypto content to be promoted.

Starting June 26, we’ll be updating our policy to allow ads that promote cryptocurrency and related content from pre-approved advertisers. But we’ll continue to prohibit ads that promote binary options and initial coin offerings.

Just what I was saying had to happen, now happens. There was no need for a blanket ban, but they just did it, because they

were not ready to deal with the processing of all these applications. I am just glad they saw the error in their ways and made

the correct decision to unban Crypto currency advertisements. They should really consider looking into allowing some ICOs

too, because there are MANY legitimate ICOs out there, that deserve the exposure. I reckon the SEC's position on ICOs

sealed their fate.  Angry

I think this will be good news, updating policy to allow ads that promote cryptocurrency to be a good step and crypto ads can provide many profit for facebook.

This is great. It would be really stupid to ban everybody involved in Crypto like educators or news websites. In high probability, Google will follow Facebook with this step.

Facebook does not want to lose its traffic to people! Facebook does not want people to go to other sites! Facebook is not against bitcoin and the whole system, facebook vs. new scam projects! Now a lot of people are suffering because of the loss of money, that people do not understand and little educated people are investing their money in bad projects! the more facebook understands what money and what kind of advertising passes through its social network! they want to advertise themselves worthy projects and earn good money on it!

At last they began to realize that they had made a mistake! I think it was a real stupidity and discrimination!!! They simply did not want to advertise competitors for their tycoon sponsors, but the public was stronger.

It was a highly predicted news. Facebook prefers the public demand. And crypto is a very hot cake in recent time. I hope and believe that they will also now promote and invent some thing that will be popular in next days. We already know that Facebook is analyzing the blockchain technology and probably something new is knocking our door.

this is one viewpoint and is correct in its sense. But the other viewpoint held by many others is that advertisement ban was right because advertisements on social media platforms advocated and gave boost to the scammers who used these platforms to publicize their wrong means of scamming innocent people.

And hopefully that new evolution does something great to the mankind and is for its betterment!!

After a long wait, Facebook finally changed his mind to Unbans Crypto Ads. Honestly "banned or not" Facebook has contributed to the worsening of crypto development, as well as break the interest of other bitcoin/crypto investors/users, especially the developers. Because since the "banning issue" came into existence in January 2018, it has lowered public interest in cryptocurrency as a whole and is prolonged (almost six months), 'no doubt' this condition has undermined other bitcoin/crypto value.

That was already going to happen because there are lots of advertisers if facebook does not allow them in its platforms then they lose the money, also not all ads are scam.

Any news of "reversal of crypto bans" is good PR for the space. Few will read the details and learn this does not mean "come advertise your scammy ICO on Facebook".
Hopefully the approved advertisers won't screw it up.

Facebook and other social media banning crypto ads but its not the only reason why the market suffers, and I think that the effect is just minimal as compare to regulations and government banning. As for the unbanning of Facebook, will take it as welcoming news indeed. But advertisers or ICO project must still undergo scrutiny and needed to submit their applications before Facebook giving them access to promote their ads. I don't think that Facebook made a mistake, but they see huge revenues coming from crypto ads that made them change their minds.

Money. Money. Money.

If you as Facebook solely depend on ad revenue, you can't just blatantly start prohibiting certain industries in their entirety from advertising on your platform. It's stupid and is basically a sign that you are forcing through rules based on political reasons rather than actual reasons meant to cut off potential scams. It's good to see that they softened up their ad policies regarding crypto, but it won't do much. Crypto didn't suffer when it wasn't allowed to advertise, and certainly won't experience any gains now they can somewhat advertise again. I'm glad that Bitcoin isn't a company or an organization -- we don't need to advertise to be seen or known....

Bitcoin and facebook are famous for scammers, criminals, terrorists, criminals, cyber criminals and illegal activities.

Facebook is the most dangerous website on the internet.

I did not believe this when I first saw this thread so I checked again and it is real. I think things are going to be smooth again for crypto and the market will be in its normal state. I know Zuckerburg is smart and he is definitely very close on releasing his own cryptocurrency.

Facebook is the biggest manipulator of the cryptomarket. First the banned all crypto related advertisement when market was bearish trend and than twitter and google both followed facebook. Now facebook realised market is down and its good opportunity to reverse the ban and invest from their ends too coz BITCOIN will soon go uptrend. And soon twitter and google will also reverse their decision.

that still wouldn't change anything about the cryptocurrencies though.
the ban  that happened a couple of months ago was used as an excuse to speed up the dumping process of the altcoins and that process has not yet ended. we are still witnessing the altcoins getting dumped nonstop because there is still a lot of money left to leave the market and the altcoin bubbles need bursting before we can see any meaningful rise.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Its conditional, advertisers that are approved by Facebook through an application process can promote crypto products,
though ads promoting binary options and ICOs, initial coin offerings, are still banned.

Interested advertisers may have to show Facebook “licenses they have obtained, whether they are traded on a public stock exchange, Still reversal of the ban will be seen as positive from most of the cryptocurrency community.
