A simple question from a newcomer: Makes it sense to buy a few PMC or should I understood this project just as an experiment?

Thanks for your help  Grin

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Both I think. Good experiment with some potential. At the moment it needs to be distributed more widely, so miners can make money from the transaction fees. It's got a great community with members always willing to donate coins. There's even one guy with an automated script that donates to block finders just to promote mining while the transaction fees are low. The community knows the coin will die if it's not spread.

Just as I was posting, shanent provides more details on the block rewarder Smiley

We run additional block reward payouts on a regular basis, and soon we'll also be trying out a lottery. Early miners get rewarded for mining PMC, and will be the ones who will benefit the most when the prices start going up. Bonus block reward payouts will cease the moment we hit Cryptsy.

There are only 500,000 total coins. Get some PMC before you miss out.

experimental distribution + trying to see how coins do after they are mined. important to see how this coin lasts to judge the future of other coins.

don't invest more than you can lose!

If you can fake some large buy orders at low price in the exchange, the price jump will look more real.

Dev is offering huge bonuses for blocks right now.

You work out how much 500 PMC is worth at current market price.  Grin

PMC is a kind of a litmus test for all mined coins.
It's not clear what happens in the aftermath of all minable coins, when there are no more block rewards. In case You hold other coins, You should consider using PMC to proof that coins work with txfees only. Just my two cents.
