This thread is actually for those who have one way or the other mentioned on this section of the forum about catching fun in online gambling so as not to get addicted, which I am sure I am not the only person who must have come across this.
I totally understand that you can at least have some fun in real life casinos since there are people around you can gist with, you can even go with friends, there are other activities you get to lay your hands on etc, which can actually divert your attention from the impulse that comes with gambling and rather focus on the fun, instead of trying to win at all cost.
However, in online gambling, I really want to hear from those who said they can have fun doing so, which to me, it is more like virtually everyone gambling online is actually in it for the money. At least, I have gambled on freebitco.in dice few times, and I was bored as (whatever you want to fill in here), with the whole martingale strategy, that I had to look for a script to use while I just kept doing some other activities. Although, I know some platforms like cryptogames have a chat system where you can converse with other gamblers, but all these to me, still does not sound like fun compared to traditional level.
Please enlighten me just in case I am missing something here or do you share the same view?

In online casino there a game its self to have fun (of course if you win its gonna be more fun), second there a chat function like what you say ( the key is to chat with someone that fun), third there is some free money activity like their promotion etc. I know it is still lotd of fun in traditional casino if you mention it. but remember if you want to go to traditional casino and want to have all those fun you gonna need more money. |

Most games aren't necessarily what I would define as "fun" they're more entertaining, capturing your immediate attention, rather than your long term interest. I think that you can consider trading type games, e.g. Cryptokitties as a gambling type game, but definitely more interactive than your typical slots or dice games. I guess it's quite sad that there aren't any real AAA type games that have a fun gambling type element to them, I could imagine a game like The Witcher could integrate PVP betting for its card game, but just nobody has ever taken the time to build something for us like that  |

In my opinion the fun side for people doing a bet on gambling was the way they think about it, And thinking that you can accumulate a lot of money when you surely win is a great fun they can ever have in playing it, But I really think it will vary to a person because we all have different perspective towards gambling, There are people that are happy in just playing the game even if they don't win they are OK there are people who get excited because of the thrill they can have in making a bet the feeling of losing in a way their hearts throb makes them feel happy about it, We might never know if what part in gambling they are feeling the most excitement because people will always have a different side to them.

I like betting on sports, because it makes it more exciting than simply watching without no consequences. When you bet on your team or when you bet in a fight it makes it more intense because there is money on the lane.
I personally don't find any entertainment value in online roulette and so on, that is too dangerously addictive.
Physical casinos are still fun in moderation, if you go with friends and don't drink too much so you don't do anything stupid.

Yes. Gambling can be a fun experience in land-based casinos where you interact with others, but online gambling is not so much a funny social experience. Gambling deals with emotions, the joy of hitting the jackpot and also, the anger of losing. In online gambling those emotions are boosted because you play faster, and it is more anonymous. It is a different experience but related. |

I have a lot of fun on Crypto-games outside of just gambling, mainly because the chat there can be very interesting sometimes.
The mods are usually very very strict in chat, which causes there to be less spam than on other online casinos.
It's especially fun when you do win something, because you can share your results with other people.
Id say that the social aspect is similar to that of a real casino.

Other people like hardcore gamers they play Counterstrike all day and playing dice is no different. You control your risk so you can bet like 1 Satoshi per bet and you are doing it purely out of fun.
Also there are gambling addicts that frequent casinos also, its not only an online thing. Pretty sure there are more physical casino addicts than a online casino.

I don't think people expect that kind of atmosphere at an online casino though. Both online and offline casinos have their benefits, if you wanted the full experience you would of course visit a real brick and mortar place, but sometimes that's either not possible due to living in a remote location or other reason, or you simply don't want the hassle and expense of doing so. |

It is true that real life casinos are more fun and you can talk to people and get to known the face to face, but that is a thing that not all people could do, some people can't traval miles to good casinos to gamble, some online gambling sites have chat rooms forums and discord chanells where you can talk to people, I know that does not sound fun but through them you could know people and even meet them online, one of my best friends I got to know them from a chat room.

Even in offline gambling, a lot of gamblers play for money. However the percentage may be low than online gambling. A major percentage of people plays online gambling for money rather than fun. Also offline gambling is costly for many people because of the ancillary costs involved with it where online gambling doesn't require any ancillary cost, just the money you want to play with. That is the reason why a major percentage play for money over entertainment in online gambling.
But addiction to it solely depends on an individual and certainly not falls within the scope of this thread.

Observing the live chat of some sites, you'll still notice that some players are having fun "chatting" with other players. Also, not everyone is capable of going to physical casinos due to financial reasons which you can do in online casinos even you don't have money for betting. Although most gamblers really play for the money, some gamblers still control their selves and just play for fun.

It depends on the way how you look to gambling. What's fun for someone may make you anxious and and oppsitely. But of course every online casino suggest you not to play for profit. Well look it like this: You gamble online and pay a small in order to play your favourite game. That's the only thing I can imagine to be fair. |

I only bet now for adding some excitement with the team I'm supporting, I can say that its enjoyable while you are watching and hoping that your team will win, I don't know about other's point of view regarding how they can get any enjoyment playing or betting online, from your position and example you point that being with many people including your friends finds enjoyable to play the game, but for me I can say that I rather to choose playing alone with my own computer and make myself anonymous and privately enjoying the game.

As an online gambler, i'm not like those who are saying "i'm playing small amount for fun" or "I had fun eventhough I lose", tsk. I'm only having fun if i'm having a good run, that's all. Lossing any amount isn't fun. Eventhough you played small amount, you're lying if you didn't think of turning it into huge amount once you go into a site. There's no fun in online gambling aside from winning.

It's subjective. It depends on the mind set. Whats fun to you, might not be fun to me. Me I find Online gambling fun, maybe its because going online I can focus on what I am doing instead of the noise in the background for the traditional gambling. I can gamble with just a few dollars but in traditional gambling they will ask first if I have enough money to play. They will even look at how I dress up, I come in with tattered jeans most likely I will never get past that 1st line of security.

It all depends from which angle are you seeing this, you go in a real casino no one even blinks a eye or even wishes to speak with you, but here online I see strangers who seem like family, they feel the pain, they celebrate success. Best part is the banter and that's what you really miss in a real casino, and at times the rain which never will happen at a real casino.
