Very interesting data, it turns out that the investment patterns of different countries have such differences, and they think that it is only related to personal investment style.

I like long-term, that is what I choose, if held in the long term, I can choose to sell his coin at a reasonable price, and higher than the other coin. So I always choose the long term is reasonable.

Looks like developed countries are as always smart enough to know what they re doing. I mean they know very well the fact of holding and how it can benefit them in the long terms. This has also got to do something with the ICO founders being the locals one. I mean most of the ICO are getting developed in the developed countries like UK, Europe regions and almost all the rest developed countries. This does adds the effect of being one close to the national investment sort of thing.  Smiley I guess its always good to hold long term because there always needs time for anything to grow and proliferate.

I think bitcoin is produced in developed countries rather than developing countries. However, some people in developed countries are short-term trading, but the proportion of this group is very low. In backward countries, the proportion of long-term holdings is even lower.
I think the choice of investment in this market depends on the ability of the investor, if you are good at technical analysis and have time to monitor the market, short-term investment and vice versa if you are not good at technical analysis, choose the potential and invest in a few months.

I think the reason for this is simple : Many people in developing countries are using their limited disposable income to buy these tokens in the hope that they would make significant profits in the short-term. <Get-Rich-Quick crowd>

The people of the developed countries have more disposable income to invest in the ICO's and to risk on these types of investments, and they can wait for longer for any kind of profit. <Their currencies are also much stronger than the currencies in the developing countries> So if these ICOs are hosted in a developing country, then their currency will be able to buy more tokens for less money.

It is all about when the investor needs the money to buy house or land or car or Gold and Silver etc.... or when the profit is 400% or 700% that is advisable to sell and book the profits because 400% profit is very good.

Seriously dude? 400% profit? That will be a far cry for most of the coins and that would be a dream profit which is unlikely to happen. 100% profit is a very ideal percentage for all the investors and those who desire a higher profits are those greedy ones which are more prone to losing in the long run because of the uncertainties in the market.

So most of the people from the developed countries are trusting more of these ICOs?

What's the purpose of that data and what REMME intended to show is just basically the stats on the difference between these long term and short term holders. No need to argue about why most are selling at a very short period of time, it's about profit not the tech and support.

There are no conclusion in the data given as to which type of crypto users earned the most profit, those who holds longer or those who dont.

I guess it could be related to poor infrastructure of the developing countries which keeps the people from getting hard on their investment. They cant just hold it because they have fear of loosing their money. Anyway this data is good for the ICO's actually because they can be targeting their ICO later on. But again there could be thing where they might just loose some good investors from such countries. For targeted ICO's its good one but in general terms this data is just data with no such use in the market. But its good that you brought it up for some reason.  Smiley

Alexander Momot, co-founder and CEO of the UK-based cryptocurrency startup REMME, recently posted on Facebook, showing data on ICO tokens held by investors in 36 countries as of June this year, saying the company collected data on almost all white papers. Monitor some of the ICO's overall trends, such as whether residents in each region tend to hold or sell within four months of the currency.

From the data presented by Momot, it can be found that in developing countries such as Brazil, Nigeria, Pakistan, Turkey, and the Philippines, buyers tend to sell ICO tokens within four months after issuing coins. Russia and Ireland also have such short-term buyers, holding only 12% and 21% of investors.

In developed countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Switzerland, Sweden, and Hong Kong, buyers tend to hold longer, but Ukrainian buyers also tend to hold, and their share of investors held in four months 58%.

I think whether long term or short term it will depend on the price of the crypto coin you are holding. Just  keep track of the market price. For me, this is the best thing to do.

Its not a shocking news the developing countries only buy to get the profit and they don't have that alot free funds to hold for a long time, so they will keep moving and moving to another coins, most of investors still not believe in crypto as currency so they only invest to make profit

It's good to see that the developed countries are trusting the ICO's, so we have an idea that the ICO's is a long-term. Since some investment are long-term.

This kind of shows how badly the former countries needed money compared to those developed countries. Can't say that it's about greed but it's out of necessity. Some already turned crypto trading into a job.

It turns out that my investment is mostly short-term, and it is rarely held for a long time. Then I didn't make money and I missed a lot. I need to reflect on...

That's right. Developing countries don't have enough knowledge of future information, just as they always do some processing work, so they should pay more attention to new technologies and things that have an impact on the future, such as blockchain.

but that doesn't mean that in every case you need to do the same, every alt, every project, every coin has different moves and future, so investing in anything should be always different, that is my opinion about it.

I don't think ICO developers need to put this research into consideration since it will potentoally discourage them into promoting their tokens into these countries which will put then into a bad position. For me it is only a matter of cryptocurrency awareness. The more ICOs being launch in this countries the more of them will imvest and hold their tokens. So thos kinds of results should be avoided for future ICOs as it would definitely affect other countries into ICO participation.

So you know what you should do. Mature practices will get more rewards.

Nope I don’t think it means more about maturity of one investors, but the necessity or the need of one persons on a financial aspects.

This monitoring effort only shows what is on the surface and not what it is within the core. ICO as untrustworthy project for some will have a big factor on its result.

Do think about it and don’t judge people on what they decided to do when they choose to think what is best for them.

I really do not expect experienced investors not to play their card rightly most of the time anyway since they have been in the game for long. The good thing about cryptocurrency is there is no segregation and it is accessible to everyone, so knowing that most inexperienced investors will actually be coming from developing countries is normal.

I still feel all the whole analysis is based on speculations, as I am trying to wrap my head around how the data was gotten and linked to know these countries were actually the ones selling the most.

Data is the most telling problem. I think in the developed countries, their investment institutions should also be based on long-term holdings rather than short-term speculation. This is very useful for reference.
It will be useful for reference if we actually can get the full brief of the research, the methods used in carrying out the research and how they came about the whole conclusion, otherwise I would just imagine that someone sat down in his bedroom, and out of reasoning and assumption, concluded that it is normal and believable that underdeveloped and developing countries are more prone to selling their tokens pretty fast than developed.

As long as there is no data backing it up, it is just a theory, not a fact! If OP is going to have to prove me otherwise, he sure knows he should be adding some link with detailed explanations of all I said initially.

It seems that I belong to the short-term holding. Then always make a small amount of money. But I want to know if holding more than 4 months will bring a lot of benefits? I just heard that many people have a good return for a few years.

I like long-term, that is what I choose, if held in the long term, I can choose to sell his coin at a reasonable price, and higher than the other coin. So I always choose the long term is reasonable.
You are justifying with your decision. Yeah that is absolutely right here. In long term there are so many chances for you to make good earning because prices are continuously increasing and decreasing in front of you while you are just at safe side. And as the highest target just ticked out, you are good to go for making a great selling. Good luck to all those who are waiting for so longtime.
