Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I can't believe people are actually mining this!
Start, stop, 8pm, 15 minutes, 3 hours then around half an hour. 1 coin transaction fee.  Pools getting a head start.  Large Premine suddenly being mentioned.  Block payout changes.  You name it this has had it when it comes to poor practice.
I forsee it being dumped bigtime once an exchange takes it on but at least you'll make the dev some easy money.

Never mind you'll maybe make enough per 1MH/s per day to cover the transaction fee in a pool. :0

WTS 20 RUBY @ 1BTC

the dev want to sell too at that rate - 1 200 000 * 0.05 = 60 000 BTC (for copy and paste)

edit: i'm sure that he can go even cheaper

I'll go 50x better - 1k = 1BTC. :-)

This is the problem..

People who got 2000 ruby in the first 30 mins VS the ones who got 10 ruby, cause the DEV decided to release the source to selected pool owners. POS lying DEV!  GL to those of you with 5-10 coins, I feel sorry for you guys (including myself).

Let me suggest a better coin that you can still get in on and get a decent profit short term and long term:

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State BlockNet can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State BlockNet to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State BlockNet.” - Joseph Goebbels

Good launch by United-miners, terrible fail launch by bitember. This is why I always sign up to multiple pools Smiley

Also the launch wasn't fair at all rofl half the pools still aren't working. I also signed up to dedicated pool which appears to not be up

The source was given out to a selective few pool owners in advance. Bitember was not one of them. We're up and running strong now thought. But this was in no way a "fair launch"

i can confirm this... Even if our pool coins4everyone.com is up and running now since some minutes; all i can say is that was not fair at ALL.
nothing on IRC; then some folks says some pools are hashing then somebody put a link of the source code on dropbox; the zip is not compiling without making a chmod; github still empty... wow that's not a good beginning!

it's like this is a big masquerade.

100% Correct Never Again Ever Ever will we put up with this.

100% correct but i remember something else: the guy from dedicatedpool.com talked about a problem on compiling on ubuntu a long time before the zip link was sent...

The very same compiling issue requiring the chmod i guess!

All this is bullshit!

I bet this shit coin has been issued by this very small group of pool operators; the ones hashing even before the link of the ZIP was known.

Hash with us and mine fresh coins @ http://www.coins4everyone.com

Ruby is on cryptorush.in now: https://cryptorush.in/index.php?p=trading&m=RUBY&b=BTC

Also, the block reward goes up to 500 at block 500.

What is the current reward per block?

dedicated pool booted me from IRC for asking questions about ruby, how sad... almost as much as this launch, not one solid pool up and running ruby right now. At least not one that I have seen.

Block reward about to hit 500 from 50.  The launch was semi-fair.  A few pools were there right from the start.  All the others lagged behind.  If you had one of the few pools that worked from the beginning configured already, you had an advantage.  Ultimately with the pre-mine the devs have the advantage.  They can either help turn this into a community or a pump and dump (and hardly a pump and dump at that).  Their choice.

With block rewards of 50 there was not much advantage but it was there. That was a good idea capping the block reward to 50 or else every one would be really crying!

Quote
Coin    Difficulty    Coin reward/day    Exchange rate BTC    Exchange rate USD    Revenue/day    Days to create 1 BTC
