Last year, I created LoyceV's Legendary 10 Month 10 Person 10 Altcoin Investment Experiment.

Summary
10 people (including me) each put 0.01 BTC in a pot, chose an altcoin, and I bought 10 different altcoins on Bittrex. We've been in a 10 month roller coaster with ups and downs. After 10 months, I sold everything and we shared the funds equally. It turned out 0.1BTC ($433.60) was turned into 0.05149923BTC ($380.62). Financially, it was a failure when 9 out of 10 altcoins dropped in value.

For Round 2, I don't want to rely on just Bittrex. I want to spread the funds over 3 exchanges, and leave them on there for 10 months.
I now have accounts on these exchanges:

• Bittrex (years old, verified earlier this year)
• Binance (opened today, not yet verified, but it says I can withdraw anyway)
• Poloniex (opened today, already verified).

Initially, I wanted to install 10 wallets and keep the coins in my own cold storage. I've decided against this to save myself the time and effort. It also saves transaction fees, but the risk is slightly higher. Using 3 exchanges instead of 1 means more Bitcoin fees when this experiment ends. Depending on the fees at that time, I'll see if a Tether transaction between exchanges can reduce fees.

After joining, you agree to stay in until the 10 months have passed. You also agree to any altcoin the other participants pick. Note that the altcoins have to be available for me to buy and sell. Also note that you can lose (most of) your 0.01 BTC, but we can hope it goes up.

Disclaimer
Although unlikely, several things can fail. Off the top of my head:
An altcoin can simply become worthless and cease to exist.
Exchanges can delist an altcoin.
0.01 BTC of an altcoin can drop lower than the minimum amount required to trade it.
I keep the altcoins on 3 different exchanges. Bittrex, Binance and/or Poloniex can disappear. I don't expect it, but it has happened with other exchanges in the past. If this happens, your money is gone, just like my money. That's why I limit this thread to 0.01 BTC per person, consider it play money.
Join for fun, join for a possible profit, but don't join to gain positive trust (read the reasoning behind this warning here).

I was hoping to do this without KYC, Binance says: "To register for an account, you must provide your real name". Nano is also traded at Gate.io and HitBTC, for which I have an account already, but I don't trust either one of those.
I'll see how this thread develops before I decide whether or not to do this.

Sure! Apart from the risk associated with that token, it's kinda like shorting Bitcoin. In 10 months, I expect it to reduce either profit or reduce losses. It doesn't really make sense though: if you expect to need to reduce losses, you're better off not joining. And reducing profit makes no sense anyway.

Did I do that right?  Good luck to each of us, I was bummed that I missed the first round. Hoping this goes well for all of us. I wanted to do EOS, but I can't figure out what they're doing for wallet support and that seems recipe for disaster. I'm also open to suggestions on changing my coin, before we officially get started; so if any of you had a second choice you highly recommend, please send me some info to look at.

I would say keep the coins to ERC20 and just setup a Metamask. However, I like the NEO suggestion for obvious reasons

I think I'll draw the line at ERC20 tokens. I'm not familiar with Metamask and Ethereum tokens, and I kinda want to stay away from them. Anything that doesn't have it's own blockchain isn't a coin.

I have, but it's terribly annoying with the steem up and steem down that takes forever and doesn't even work if you don't have balance left or something. I'm not really looking forward to using that again.

Or would you be fine holding Steem on Binance?

Based on all the "reserved" posts (that didn't happen in my previous thread, there it just took 10 weeks to complete), I'm pretty sure we've reached 10 or more already.

So, again, I'm asking for input on how to handle that. Hardcap at 10? Or go up?
Then again, I don't really want to install more than 10 wallets, so maybe I should just keep the coins on a few different exchanges?

I would keep it to one Round active at a time. However, I'm happy with the experiment increasing the participants amount. I would suggest keep it in increments of 10. So if 10 other people are interested increase it to 20. And if 10 more people are interested increase it to 30 etc.

I wouldn't be opposed to additional participants. I feel like anything over 25 participants would be silly, though. That many coins might get difficult to manage. Maybe a good solution would be to allow them to put down BTC and you simply work with the 10 original altcoins to a greater degree.

As far as more members, I'm not opposed to it. 15 maybe 20 is about as many as I think makes sense.

Really comes down to what you feel like doing, as it's more work for you in the end.
