Here I'm going to tell something that I have seen in this forum. I have seen that some people are posting replies just by looking at the topic and not reading the content. lets say If the topic is short and you can't get a clear idea from that and the content is something about vehicles then some members may reply saying " To the moon  Grin, this is a great project etc " without reading the content.

Also I have seen that some members have posted replies saying " This is a great project, a professional team, this could be the project of the year " etc while that ICO has already been listed in Scam Accusations section. The reason is,  not reading the important threads in the forum even once in a while.

I started this topic not to offend anyone and just only to tell what I have seen here. I'm really sorry if I have made someone upset here.

What you are suggesting is good for the forum and is also needed. But do you think that those members who are doing spam are doing that by mistake ? They are doing it intentionally and thus they do not care about the effects of that spam on this forum.

Also, they are not even going to read this post of yours. The members who are active o meta section are already following forum rules.

Totally agree with you. It looks like they have no much time to read the contents as they only come here to gain the post count I think  Cheesy

Another thing I need to tell is, if you (not you  Smiley. the other members) don't know the answer for a question that was asked by a member, then it is better not to make replies for that thread. Instead of that just find another topic that you can give a clear answer.

You are talking about Bitcoin Discussion, Altcoin Discussion type boards and also some mega threads. Spend your time on this (meta) board, you will find different taste. Sorry that you had this bad impression however you just started with the forum, there is lot more to learn and see. Give it enough time, you will start realizing everything. Welcome to the BitcoinTalk forum.

Be happy be at peace. Looking forward to BTC at $1M

You can report these types of messages when you see them. Unfortunately, there's currently a epidemic going on with these sort of replies, and the only way that we can currently deal with them is by reporting them. The types of messages that you are refering to though are likely being made to bump the topic or posting because of some requirement that the announcement thread has which rewards them in stakes or what ever. If this instance you can report the original topic, and specify that they are offering an incentive to those that post in their thread.

I would not encourage people to come to Meta just for the quality threads, because it'll end up being a spam pit just like those other sections you mentioned, which you're right about, of course.  And OP is right.  If you go to a typical thread in Bitcoin Discussion, you'll see that people aren't replying to each other there and what's happening isn't a discussion at all, but a bunch of short answers to silly questions that get asked repeatedly.

OP, telling people to read replies in threads isn't going to help one bit.  If they're not reading anything in the threads they're responding to, do you think making a thread in Meta is somehow going to convince them to start?  Believe me, I wish it would have that effect but it's not going to.

Sorry my bad, I should have explain it better to avoid confusion. My indication for OP was, to read the topics and the replies (to find that people are engaging like you and me and others on this topic as an example) of meta board since OP was taking about nonsense posts on those wrong boards where no one actually bother to read and then reply. I should have suggest some other boards like Ivory Tower, Serious discussion, Development & Technical Discussion, Mining etc. Especially in Ivory Tower - you do not need to make posts, just read the contents, someone who is here for reading they will find this board is a gem for them.

I'm a relatively new user here. I've created my account years ago, but it is only now that I'm actually using it again. Even though I'm quite new, I've seen a lot of people commenting things that are so generic, that you can comment it on other threads that it would give the same meaning.  Grin I think they believe it's the easy way, and trust me I thought it was too. I think the point is we should not be lazy!

Oh yes. Sometimes I feel that some users have ready to use templates of such generic posts. But I think that people aren't lazy, they just don't see reasons to put effort into their posts, because they will get paid even by making such generic shitposts. And I imagine that it can be difficult to make quality posts when you have 10-15 Bitcointalk accounts. These account farmers are just posting to reach required number of posts to get paid and they don't give a shit about their post quality.

Yes I totally agree that there are lots of people here in the forum didnt read all the topics and its content. Its kinda funny because they jump easily into a wrong conclusion.Like the first person who answered the post didnt get the whole picture then expect the next person will answer in same way.So totally lots of them answered in a wrong way. Before answering questions here in this forum make sure its on the topic given because it might cause misleading the other people.

How can you assume that the members ignoring topic and content in threads will make an exception here ?

In my opinion, those spammers are not even active in meta section. Posting here kind of exposes your account to a analysis by other members. But if you keep spamming in other sections like alt coins or other sections, you can easily get away with it.

spammers are everywhere including in Meta whether topics with the same, repetitive substance, answers or suggestions are not categories of spam?

you can't judge other section such as Altcoins, especially on Mining (altcoins). if you want to say Altcoins section call it clearly like altcoins discussion.

Agree with this one, most of the cited examples are for bitcoin discussion and altcoin discussion threads.  As a newbie I would like to suggest that you visit the Beginners and Help Sectoin - you can learn so many things in this section.

I also enjoy going to off-topics section because there are some interesting topics there and you will learn about the opinion of other people (especially their culture).

Because they are too busy in the Altcoin section doing there bounties that they have no time to read in other boards of this forum.

Might be as a newbie you are not aware but they are very  talented people that manage sometime 100+ bounties  using so many Alt accounts in an "English forum" without even knowing how to write passable English sentences.

What you suspect is true, because when posting they tend to post with short words. maybe they are new members who do not understand about this forum.

What's much worse to see is that when users, irrelevant of whatever rank, post illogical nonsense and people tend to believe it. As no one bothers to correct them, false news spreads like viral disease. I have been a victim of this on both sides, seen false news and spread (unintentionally) false news, some times stood corrected and the rest : A blank page.

And OP, stop apologizing to people for their mistakes, it's not like they will come and dox you, like they did in the past.  Roll Eyes

That is why it is so boring to read all the stuff that have been posted in megathreads, its just that they are posting without any basis to what they say, in fact posting their opinion which can lead to confusion and incorrect information about the topic.
They just do not care about the forum, their only concern is themselves, to get paid and to reach their quota post per day.

You can't force them to read the contents when all they want is to make number of posts for the week. Exactly the reason why there are mods and staff. And currently, Reporters, you as a fellow forum member could actually report these users. you'll get rewarded one day if you do report them. Half measures isn't working.
