Because investments in gold and silver are the most reliable investments of all.

Do not also forget that these people are used to trust only real things - they have to touch them and see they exist. They can not touch the digital money. probably, this is the reason, the aged persons prefer investing in gold.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I guess they remember times when dollar was backed by gold and are used to it's physicality. You can touch it, and are sure it has a true value.

My guess is that for older people it is just very difficult to understand crypto and move from basic ideas like gold & silver.

Because that rare metals are so limited that's why they want to invest their money on that because the price also is not missing or drop down so that they will patronage this older investment in this kind of metal money so that the history of old people will not be lost.

I'm not one who would invest in precious metals, but I have noticed that a good amount of the older generations are pretty keen in investing in these metals. They see it as a way to bet against the market, and a security that will always be safe -- even in the times of a market downturn/country failure as a whole.

I personally wouldn't even want to buy these metals in those events, as I don't see the reason to. I'd rather invest in securities that go up when the market shits itself (Payroll lending companies and so on and so forth)

Does anyone here know the reason behind people loving precious metals?

Generation gap of course, they trust gold or silver because it's good investment in their day and gold and silver is more stable than investing in cryptocurrency. Maybe if they learn and know what is bitcoin, they will investing in it too.

they don't know better. It makes sense. You can't make them understand crypto and regular stocks don't interest them because gold and silver are the good ol' stable things to invest in. Also it's tangible rather than intangible, so I can understand their point of view.

They believe on its potential so are we  why we are keep on investing in crypto..  Older people too can easily be stress so it is not good for them to invest on crypto which value is always fluctuating and they grew or use of investing on metals since then so they stick on that.

Aside from that, precious metals like gold or silver has a stable market value giving them security to their money invested on it. Most of them are also not in the mood or not risk-takers at all. Additionally, keeping their precious metals is just easy unlike the less complicated and a bit technical way of keeping cryptos.

Simple; it is not riskful, they can get physical matter in their hands and gold and silver is a part of vanity and wealth.

They do really love gold investments because they believe that they can leave their gold to their children after their death and this is a good physiologic relaxing.

I think because they value tradition and old beliefs, and also for them to pass it on to the next generation of their families. And maybe because of the value of those precious metals and other minerals.

It is not about the beliefs it is because they only knew thst kind of investment. Now maybe they dont know the cryptocurrency that is why they dont enter the industry also they dont trust the process that is why they dont want to put their capital in it.

Because between us and they have gap about generation  Grin Grin Grin
In fact, older people always have a lot of worries and I do not think they are interested in investing in Crypto because they are afraid because Crypto is so new and it's like a virtual thing, they can not see it and can not handle it. In addition, Bitcoin have a huge risk and it is not valued by any model and fears that this is a psychological game.
I have met many old people and I told them about Bitcoin, as a result I was scolded for daring to believe what the internet said, oh my gods @@
bitcoin is a good investment if we know what bitcoin really is. but many parents forbid us to make this investment, but for me it's fine, because we already know what bitcoin really is. and bitcoin has nothing to do with psychology hehe. if we want to make this investment, the thing we have to do is be patient and neither do we have to tell anyone

What I can think of is that it is because of how they think. As you grow older the more you feel like you are not into so much risk like the way you used to. So the older you get the more safer and tangible investments are the ones that will catch your interest to be into. Well, this is just my observation from my parents it doesn't necessarily mean that it is true for all old people.

In my opinion, there are some main reasons why older people like investing in precious metals. Firstly, The precious metal can exist forever . They think it would be less in the future so its price would gradually go up. Secondly, they are too old to take the risk form the other kind of investing. Third, Its like a kind of traditional investment in the past. They still believes in it.

Gold and silver investment is low risk, high valued investing. It is easy to invest, you can find it everywhere and it has global value.

it is not a matter of respecting old traditions and beliefs but for the safety and comfort of older people. usually older people are easy to forget and easy to lose with their money so parents prefer to invest in gold because of its real nature and the price is also expensive. parents don't invest in bitcoin maybe they don't know the uses and benefits of investing in bitcoin so they prefer gold .

I think why older people often prefer to invest on some metal, it is because their time used to invest in these kind of things. They invest in it because they used to. That way is in their culture and they can pass it in the next generations of their race.

Old people are the most experienced (not all) people, I believe they are doing it through experience. Throughout ages, though precious metals are not as profitable at bitcoin and other leading altcoins at the moment, but they’ve proven it to be less risky, the more tangible it is for them the more security they feel about it and besides these metals has not failed yet throughout the years. Some old people, i dont know if it can be called ignorance but they dont want to try something unsure for them but they would rather stick to the one they’ve already known.

It used to be illegal to own gold for a few decades (started in the 1930s during the great depression). Therefore, for a lot of old people owning gold has a kind of psychological effect in that it was something forbidden for a large portion of their lives. Also, a large part of it is likely the enormous amount of commercials for people to buy silver and gold on TV channels that old people like to watch.

This is also a generation that has seen the value of the dollar plummet. One of the best marketing stories for precious metals I've heard is: "A quarter in 1960 could buy one gallon of gas, whereas a quarter today wont buy much. However, the silver in a quarter from 1960 would be worth about $3.50, or the price of a gallon of gas." It also comes down to volatility, old people are looking for a way to preserve wealth, not a way to get huge multiples and ROIs on their money.

gold and silver have an indispensable value in this world. to me, their values will never disappear. so people are investing in them. but of course not as useful as block technology. this is the weak side of the mines.
