I was at the TrueCrypt website and clicked on the donation link only to find a very limited means of supporting the project. They only accept the USD, euro, and pound. Worst of all the primary means of donation is paypal!

I emailed donations@truecrypt.org and asked them if they would consider accepting bitcoins because their anonymous natures compliment each other. Past that many users on this forum use and appreciate the value of TrueCrypt.

So who's with me in getting TC to accept Btc? I'm sure if they get enough emails and posts of support on their forum that they'll have to look into it.

BTCinch has the ability to do this. If you PM me your email address, I'll send you some, too. Smiley

I imagine BTCinch has some sort of an instant-wallet method of sending coins.  So you send an email to a person that has a link to an instant wallet, and viola!  Bitcoins!

That is correct. It isn't a secret. Anyone can send an email out with a link to recover x Bitcoin. The user follows the recovery link to their new account, then is able to use them via our wallet service. We haven't published this yet, because we've been testing. It is just about that time, though, so I'm happy to share. Smiley

Nice, receiving btc via email was simple. I just had to follow the url to make an account (painless) and had btc in my account.

The website user interface is awesome and allows users to use keyboard hotkeys to access menus (ex press "A" for account, then the menu options were from 1-5).

As a StarCraft 2 player I love my hotkeys so overall I'm a big fan of the service!

Edit: Can you change Profile from U to F? I don't want to have to move my left hand from the typing home row. Smiley

Can you tell if they at least redeemed the bitcoins in your email?

EDIT: Oh wait, sorry that wasn't you. I was thinking about the BTCinch thing.

Recently i started my Firefox browser and noticed they asked for donations on the start-page, i went to the donations site and noticed they only accept Mastercard, Visa and Paypal.

I wrote them an email (donations@mozilla.org) explaining i don't have a creditcard and i wish to donate to the mozilla foundation only and not to paypal, so, i asked what their bitcoin address was so i could donate directly to them.

No reply yet... -.-
