I have seen one of the member of this forum selling his sr and full member account.
He create a new account here named mrFuzz to use it for selling those accounts.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2236055

And i also saw his post saying that he is a newbie in crytpo.
I'm a newbie to this industry and read about different ways in order to earn profit from the crypto world

I would like to know if it does not violate the rules of this forum?
Is this not a fraud?
If it's true that he having those sr and full member account, why he said that he was a newbie?

He create many threads here, and the topic is for selling his accounts.

Selling accounts is really discouraged in the forum. But if the people are so stupid to give their money to an untrusted newbie... well, this is called Karma. Probably the sold account will end with red trust and the money wasted. Probably this one doesn`t even have an account to sell. Whatever it is, to be involved in an account transaction like this one means to be kind of stupid.

This could have been an interesting discussion if the accounts he is trying to sell were revealed by you. Without that, there is nothing new to discuss as you can find a lot of people trying to sell accounts in Auctions or Digital Goods sections with different low level accounts they don't care about. It can only make them lose something if the accounts they mean to sell get red tagged before they are given to the buyer. After that, if he still manages to sell it, the buyer is screwed which is a good thing too, and if he can't get it out of his hands, he is screwed for a few hundred bucks he has been harvesting all this time.

Yes! I'm trying, but once he saw this post he can't trust me anymore. Or maybe he can provide other people account and he can say that account is the real account of him, even if it's not.

OP move this thread to Reputation because Meta section is only for discussing about forum only.

The user mrFuzz doesn't looks like a scammer because he constantly keep saying escrows were accepted so he might selling his account so those accounts need to be tagged soon before or after sale.

Yeah, I'd love to know that myself.  And I must've missed his threads, because it looks like I never tagged him (now fixed).

It doesn't violate any rules of the forum, but as has been mentioned account selling is definitely not approved by many members here who've seen what account sales have done to the forum and what uses high-ranked, highly-trusted accounts can be put to.  I'm not going to write a huge essay here, because I've written it so many times, but basically account sales can and have been used to scam and shitpost with.  Those are the main concerns.

It may not be an outright fraud, but account dealing is certainly an untrustworthy thing to do, because it can be very harmful.  People who sell accounts are only thinking of themselves and generally don't care that they're enabling scammers and spammers--so they deserve red trust, which I'm more than happy to provide.

In my opinion they are good for the environment of the forum. Filling up the gap left by the admins and mods. So if anyone should be tagged red here are these who do little to nothing to retrieve locked-hacked accounts.

No one is going to argue that it is fair to wait months to retrieve an account.

I disagree they are doing good for the environment because anyone is free to go and make a new account while they wait on the original. While there is no rule against the buying and selling of accounts, I feel it is fraudulent to use bought accounts. They are pretending they are "someone" else, and the red tag signifies that. Other than making people look a little closer it doesn't have any other effect on how you use the forum.

Luckily with the trust system in place you are free to tag anyone you feel isn't doing their part to return your account to you.

Probably the sold account will end with red trust and the money wasted. Probably this one doesn`t even have an account to sell. Like it or not is business, those bounty programs that pays you monthly in exchange of renting your signature / avatar / personal text space is crappy marketing and should also be discouraged.
The people who are buying those high ranked accounts are doing it for advertisement / promotional purposes, they don't give a sh*t about karma, community, quality of posts.
If someone is involved in that kind of transaction is because they are here to make money, might be considered stupid for others but they're making a living out of it because the people who govern this forum by making the rules allows advertisement on first place.

I hope one day theymos will decide to stop this account selling deals. I'm disapproving it as well simply because it's not fair to new users who're not willing to pay. It's like buying a promotion for your real job. Imagine how you would feel.

Theymos will not decide to stop account selling. Its your responsibility as the owner if you want to sell it or not but if the DT members caught you, accounts will be banned both seller and buyer since its highly discouraged here.

The users trying to sell accounts are now declining due to merit system, this is could stop one day as there will be no more accounts to sell with higher ranks. The only they can sell are the Jr. Member accounts which buyers might have no interest to it. But still knowing which accounts they are selling would be great so DTs can tag them.

The accounts won't be banned it will be just get negative trust from the DT members if they got enough evidence that is a bought account.Or the account can be locked by the actual owner of that account if he has access to the email address in case if the sold account is hacked or banned. But no admin will ban the sold account.

Now, here is where you confuse between FREEDOM and  NECESSITY.
would you dump your account freely and go and make a shit new account like mine? I highly doubt that.
and they are doing good  in the sense that only such activities will speed up the change.. if it will ever come, and I am not that optimistic.

No I would not freely dump my account. Neither would you, unfortunately you are a victim of a hack.

What I would freely do if I were to become a victim is create an account and mosey on, albeit in a disgruntled manner. You have every right to be pissed you were essentially robbed, but account sales are not the way forward.

I'm not sure what you are actually missing out on by using this account? You can tie in your post about a signed message and a link to your locked profile to create a backstory for your account; and carry on using the forum in the same way you had previously. This can be done in your signature space and or personal message.

With the Forum not regulating account sales this in no way will incentive them to move faster on account recovery. The DT community are the only ones identifying account sellers and purchasers, by tagging them. This also generally includes people who are actively promoting the practice.

Your case in particular gave me this idea, perhaps you'd like to way in on it. This in no way helps at the moment or speeds up account recovery, but it's something.

A few points.

in your quote you disregarded the most important point, the fact that there is freedom, and there is necessity, thus  the quote is out of context.

regarding your two suggestion, here and on the thread you liked, I appreciate you are taking the time to think about people in my situation, the reality though is that the 2nd idea is impractical, since it actually requires much more work than simpel recovery, and the 1st one is doable, but do you really people will start dealing with all this stuff as to see the proof that you are who you are? I mean, most people don't even know how to verify a message And all is it is doing is overlooking the real issue at stake.

Additionaly, we both know that rank matters and we both know that now it is next to impossible to get to a proper high enough rank, which makes this loss and the inability of the admins to act even worse.

I may have disregarded the necessity, portion only because I do not see the necessity of buying an account. IMO it is more likely that a bought account is just dropping off another shitposter/spammer here for their "work", or worse some scammy scumbag.

Quote

If this is referring to the linked topic, that in no way is meant to replace recovery. It is more like making the account "whole", after the fact. I think it would provide incentive for users to try as best they can to pick up where they left off knowing once their account is restored they will have continued to add to the accounts status.

Quote

Maybe they will, maybe they won't.
When it comes to a signed message I can't think of 1 thread where someone hasn't quoted and verified the signed message. This takes the onus of whoever does dig in. This is not overlooking the real issue, it's a band-aid to try and assist people in your situation to continue to use the forum in a similar manner to before the hack.

Quote

Your right rank does matter, but it's not the be all end all. Merit does make it more difficult to rank up, but not impossible.

I'm just wondering what are you not able to do now that you were before you got hacked? I didn't follow you much but I remember a lot of hardware sales, and calling out scammers. There is nothing stopping you  from doing this, no matter what your rank is.

I did not have an intent to purchase/distribute handles as I'm fully aware & appreciate the forum policies, which discourage such behaviour.
I discovered this behavior perpetrating on this platform, which is why I wanted to bring this issue (of mrfuzz selling accounts) to this forum's members notice. Who knows, it could possibly belong to someone among us, who's been hacked/cheated.
I therefore request the forum members to bear with me till I can find which handles are on sale. I hope I've made myself & my intentions amply clear, & don't earn any one's ire/anger leading to negative trust. Please reach out to me if you've any issues/concerns that you'd like to discuss with me. I'm available on telegram (@Mike_jack)
