I might just do that or simply use the gimpy 741 as a donor miner for my others. I already have a 841 that should arrive today that will be taking the 741's power allocation so will actually be ahead in THs when I put it online and take the 741 off.

 I believe this would be the best place to post this, the MOD can delete the thread I started on the main board.

 I Have an 841 that just wants to run at 15.8TH/s+ no matter what I set the voltages at even the max temperature setting seems no help.



 Once it goes above the max temperature it will slow down to normal speeds, cools then repeats!

Have you played with the "more options" feature.

If not, from what I remember the basic voltage offset option actually doesn't do anything.

hello,

I have a software related question...

I have added the pool & solo CK server to my 741.

But from what I can see only the first one (pool 0) is being used.

Pool: 1

Doesn't the controller software have the load balancing mode as option?

The main screen also mentions "1 module active" does that mean 1 full device or 1 of the 2 boards of 1 device?
Or is this a software module?

You will only see 1 pool active at a time, as you can't send work to more than one place at a time. The other 2 are just there in case the first one fails for whatever reason.

I'm not sure what you mean about the 1 module active, can you post a screen cap? If on the miner status page you are seeing a hashrate of around 7.3 everything should be fine.

Wait you are probably in the basic main status page, if so and you see 1 module, I'm pretty sure that means 1 miner. Click on the advanced button for a better overview of what is going on with you machines. This is step 2 in the OP for this thread.

From here you can check the status page, and the API log. These 2 pages will let you know if there are any problems. You can also post screenshots and someone can look them over with you.

I added --balance to the additional options and now both servers are active.

but the second server's GetWorks counter goes up sometimes but it doesn't seem to receive jobs.

Is there a way to get rid of that third server? I can't disable it and I don't know if entering the same server twice is a good idea.

Yes I tried both and even dusted it out, changed controller oh well, I guess I will leave it like that with an A/C duct pointed right at it it stays at 14.8 to 15.1 TH/s @ 30 / 86c

the other 2 next to it run 13.6TH/s each  26 / 78c and 26 / 73c respectively.

Any place in the US do warranty work on these, I am going to get that done that miner is too unstable mining at 15TH/s then mines at 5-6 TH;s for a good period of time and tried everything from a new PSU, controller and new MM firmware

The point of the Avalons is that the user can troubleshoot them and narrow the problem down to a board. At that point Canaan or the distributor you bought it from can send a replacement board.

Have you even tried the trouble shooting procedures outlined on the 1st page? Have you opened a support ticket with the distributor or Canaan?

Has anyone had trouble with CGMiner constantly restarting?

It's only just started recently, it will run and then idle/CG miner restarts. My CGMiner elapsed time generally doesn't go over 5mins... see graph below.

Is my controller screwed?

Hey there,

What are your ambient temperatures. One of the errors, the 144 is a combination of the 16, and the 128. The 128 is a warning regarding a "too hot" situation on the control board, but I think it relates to the specific hashboard, not sure.

I'm guessing this is a 741? Has it been cleaned out recently? Did you make any changes?

I had a mistake in the bitcointalk forum version of this guide.

The mistake was in the Table 1. AvalonMiner LED colors.

There was an image of PMU LED colors table, which is obviously a wrong image.

I have put the right image in place now.

It took me too long to notice the error, sorry.  Embarrassed

The .pdf document version has been ok the whole time.




BTW. Steven has posted a neat promotional video for the AvalonMiner 851 at the Canaan.io website.
The video also mentions the easy DIY repairs, which this guide supports.  Smiley

Hello,

I have a few M3, and now I'm getting 2 x 741,
but I have a problem with power cost and noise, so I made a search and I
read somewhere how to put the Fan working only at 70% by editing a file, or one option to set 0, -1 or -2 to consume less power and make less noise,
but I  cannot find it now Sad  
Can you please help me ?
