A few weeks ago, some users were using a bot to make a post and immediately delete them so they can bump their threads without getting any attention.

To fix that, theymos made that users could only delete their post after 24 hours on certain boards.

I think how I'd prefer to handle it is to prevent deleting posts within 24 hours of posting them, in the problematic sections only. Which sections are problematic?

OK, the 24-hour limit is now in place in the sections that people mentioned.

Recently, I was checking the Patrol page and caught a user using two accounts and a self-moderated thread to bypass that system.

1. The first account creates a self-moderated thread.
2. The second account posts anything in the thread.
3. The author of the thread deletes the post from the user 2.
4. User 2 posts the same thing again.
5. Repeat.

In this case:
The author of the post: Vitalang LLC #2223793
The user making the repetitive posts: FramokayTM #2190200

Archived posts before they get deleted (check the time of the posts):

I anticipated this would happen:
Sorry but this solution seems easy to circumvent.
It's much easier: in my self-moderated topic, I can't delete my own post, but I could delete my alt's post.
The only complication for the bump bots will be to attach a bot to the account that created the topic.

A possible solution would be to reject any user from posting in a self-moderated thread after 2 or more of his posts have been deleted. That would be a nice feature for legit thread owners too.

This could solve it:
Suggestion
Would it be possible to ignore Newbie-posts when sorting on "Last post" in the Altcoin boards? That would make it impossible for a Newbie to bump a thread (while they can still post). If needed, this can be increased to higher ranks too.

Maybe a simple adjustment will solve all the problems "You must earn at least one merit before posting in altcoin board."
It will reduce posts in that section to a large extent; manual reporting will solve any other anomalies.

You are correct. Spammer using self-moderated thread for spamming. I was also made a thread about it , Badly bumping ANN Thread ( self moderated). Using newbie account. I was suggest to remove self moderation from Marketplace ( Altcoins). So spammer and scammer will not able to spam. Some time if we found any scam ICO and we reply on thread than they delete our reply due to self moderate.

Great solution however it will only remove the possibility of lower ranked bump bots in bumping the thread, for higher ranked bots or accounts intended for bumping (Sr. Members and above) this problem won't be good as the self-moderated thread can still delete their post after they bump it to avoid getting caught. Although you suggest that you can increase the prohibition to higher ranked members I'd say it is impossible because not showing the "last post" of Sr. Members or above is way too much for the forum to consider, a lot of members (especially the ones who are Sr. Members) who are not bots will be greatly affected. I do have another solution in mind.

Solution: On Self-moderated threads when the author deletes the post intended for bumping their bump to the first page will be voided and they will go back to the page where they last stayed.

Solution: On Self-moderated threads when the author deletes the post intended for bumping their bump to the first page will be voided and they will go back to the page where they last stayed.
I don't think this is going to work. They usually leave the bump and only delete it to post a new one.

So, imagine the situation:

1. OP posts a bump; Thread goes to the first page.
2. When the thread is down, he deletes the bump; Thread goes a few pages back;
3. OP posts a bump again; Thread again on the first page.

Well, while a solution to the problem would be nice, unless you are using a throwaway account it also ups the ante as far as moderator punishment. The vast majority of the time, if someone is bumping a thread more often than 24 hours, they'll get the excess bumps removed, and a PM in their inbox explaining that you can't bump your thread more often than 24 hours. Unless its spammy to the point of being obviously annoying, that is one of those rules that can be overlooked fairly easily.

If however you are knowingly deleting your bumps for the purpose of bypassing the rules, you don't get a nice friendly PM, you get a ban.
