I'm ignoring posters who start threads with all caps titles.

The initial posts are often formatted, and usually contain little of value.  By ignoring the initial poster, the thread is deprecated in the index, and it gives a much cleaner page. Do you think this action is too draconian, after all, it means I won't be opening the thread, so nobody posting in it has a chance of receiving any merits from me. Capitalised titles makes the forum appear to contain a bunch of newbie amateurs.

It’s your personal choice isn't it buddy. I see where you’re coming from, people who start threads all in capitals are the type of ‘look at me, look at me, my name’s up in lights’ people.

Those type of posts are likely to be discrete ‘give me Merit’ threads any way so yeah I support your action of putting them on ignore.

I don't blame you, Jet Cash.  There was a trend some months back where it seemed like every shitposter was making threads with all-caps titles, and invariably they were all garbage.  It's annoying to look at them in my unread posts feed, because I get the feeling that they're just trying to draw attention to a garbage topic that otherwise wouldn't stand out.  I wouldn't worry about missing the chance to give out merits. 

You'll find good posts eventually, but the all-caps threads tend to be spam magnets, probably with a whole bunch of alt accounts posting in them, too.

If people are deserving of merit, then they'll probably be making good posts in several threads, which you'll likely find at some point...and I doubt all of those threads would have all-caps titles. You do you!

Sometimes I think I'm too extreme in my attitudes, Bitcoin Talk is a mature crypto forum, and it must be a prime candidate for the serious discussions that we will need when the new government payment systems are announced. e-Estonia ia already here, and some people consider that to be the planned replacement for the European Union when it disintegrates. We don't have many discussions about it here, and we are going to have to escape from the shackles of the TwitBook bounty hunters, if we are going to get any credibility in the emerging economies.

Personally, I find ALL CAPS just as annoying as ▪□■|stuff like this|■□▪. I understand the idea of having "flair" to steal
the attention of the readers, but it's beyond redundancy at this point. The other "pet peev" I have, is the reiterating of posts.
Not just by the copy/paste shite posters, but by people who are fishing for merit, knowing "that" topic is buried past page 5.
I've seen quite a few "newer" members creating topics, that have been kicked to death, reformatting information, and reaping
the rewards of a post that "meets the criteria" for receiving merit. Sure, the post is informative, reads nicely, and certainly took
the author time to create it, but it's already been done. Over and over, for the sake of receiving AND giving merit.

Yesterday, I have used the Ignore function for the first time ever. Damn, I should have done that waaaay earlier. Feels like being reborn.

Further on, don't waste your time and energy asking yourself if it's too draconian! I think it's your account mate, and if it makes your life on this forum more comfortable and makes your pages look cleaner, I think you should go for it. After all, it should remain fun and agreeable and educative, that's what this forum is all about, no?

Threads like this one has a potential to become a breeding ground for members required to reach their post requirements. Not only the topic is common but with using all caps with its title it will attract low ranking members who will surely post generic answers and then it will soon become a megathread. So I don't think you will lose anything when it comes to topics like this one as you won't find any post meritable or if you do it will be buried and covered with worthless trash.

I must have some sort of high tolerance to this stuff, because it just doesn't have any effect on me whatsoever. Yeah, it's not great etiquette, and does scream "I need attention", but doesn't bother me all that much.

Nothing Is Worse Than Capital Case, Where I Personally Find It To Be Absolutely Disgusting And The Ultimate Eye-Sore When I'm Trying To Read Through A Paragraph. It Slows My Flow Of Reading So Much That I Would Rather Read Broken English Than Have To Deal With This Form Of Writing. fiat is walking corpse but Crypto is the real valuable currency.

Even for normal people in social media, they are gonna be so annoyed in a single post containing an all caps content regardless of how quality the post is.
It is not merely an excuse that they are still new to these kind of things in the internet or even outside the internet.
