At the inception of VegasCoin the idea was to both put the power of money in the peopleís hands just like bitcoin and many other alternative crypto currencies do, but also to give Las Vegas a new promotional tool for business and tourism.

As a local currency dedicated to Las Vegas, VegasCoin provides a platform to help keep money cycling inside the city.  Similar in ambition to AuroraCoin, a crypto currency created for the people of Iceland, VegasCoin seeks to gain acceptance in the local Vegas market while being traded on the larger international market.  In this capacity it is a great vehicle for promoting Tourism in Nevada.  Although the number of people who participate in Crypro Currency exchanges is relatively small, participants are international in scope and their numbers are rapidly growing.  Even if one does not buy and sell VegasCoin on an exchange its there and people see it.  It would be like having a Vegas Dollar appear on the Forex exchange.  Thatís free advertising!  And where are you going to spend your VegasCoins?  One might start in the one city that they are accepted.  See how this could potentially boost tourism?

VegasCoin is not saturated and never will be.  We chose to use almost the same algorithm as litecoin whose total run equals 84,000,000 coins to our 100,000,000 coins. As of this writing this on March 7th 2014, VegasCoin is trading between $0.05 and $0.30 per coin, is listed on two exchanges, and provides a faster more secure system protocol than even bitcoin has.

If I have lost you dear reader I must apologize.  This letter is prefaced on the idea that you have some knowledge of what crypto currency and bitcoin even are.  If you do not I encourage some research and I have provided some links at the footer to get you started.  Without going into all the heady details I will explain it like this.  Crypto currency functions like digital cash without any or at extremely low transaction fees, VegasCoin functions in this capacity.
Our mission since day one has been to get VegasCoin created then accepted by local businesses that can then benefit from Vegascoinís growth in popularity.  At this juncture we are in negotiation with a limo company, nightclub, and advertising company.  Future plans include meetings with Las Vegas casino & hotel Marketing Directors, Presidents, and Owners.

In closing, it took just under 25 days to create VegasCoin, the VegasCoin.co website, wallet, and get listed two major crypto currency exchanges.  Point being that VegasCoin is in its infancy but is moving very rapidly and people are getting excited.  Most who hear about the coin, instantly say what a great name!  The Las Vegas brand is already world famous and is overdue for its own currency.  Technology moves at a pace that will make your head spin, but those who do not adopt and change risk being left behind.  You donít want to be the last fast food joint to put in a drive through window.

No idea what is wrong with that.. nothing successful here in Las Vegas... and I have inside connections with businesses that really are interested in accepting it right here in Vegas.

Only about 100k coins mined, and they are being used for giveaways and the facebook likes we used an advertising company to help so we could obtain the name /vegascoin

A couple of things I've noticed.
That pool keeping dropping people off at http://vgc.weminecoin.com.

Also when I get the following error when compiling the vegascoin-qt under linux with qmake:

$ qmake
Removed plural forms as the target language has less forms.
If this sounds wrong, possibly the target language is not set or recognized.
uic: Error in line 138, column 23 : Opening and ending tag mismatch.

Any help would be beneficial!

The pool was provided by http://WeMineCoin.com they helped rush the pool out, that may have been a bad choice but we had high demand for the coin release.  Today we have 2 more companies that have existing pools like MineBig.com that plan to open up VGC pools sometime today.  Please check the official pools page: http://vegascoin.co/pools/  for more information.

Note from WeMineCoin.com = " Our servers experienced higher than normal use during the launch, we where faced with shutting the pool down.  Instead we made a quick fix that reboots the stratum server every 5 minutes, this is our best temp fix we could come up with.  The sever upgrade is being requested, but due to the holiday we had some delays.  We hope to have the server fixed in 24 hours, thank you for understanding "

Thanks for the update. But would like an answer to why I get a compilation error in making source and it looks like I am not the only one...

It is not like you said: See the source code, from there linux wallets can be easily compiled.

err not sure what is going on, I set myself up at pooled.cc but the block numbers look all messed up.
I see references to LTC and in my profile it appears to be set up for PCC, even though I told it to be VGC...
very confusing. I am not sure what is happening? Huh

Ok I have got the wallet by myself working with source code myself. Of all things there is a typo in one of the forms.

In the source code ./src/qt/forms/overviewpage.ui
 <string notr="true">0 VGC  /string>

It should be:
 <string notr="true">0 VGC  </string>

That has taken me a few hours to find this.

I am no developer by any means but this bug that prevents you from installing is quite poor. To me it just looks like whoever "developed" just copied the source code and not really thought about/or tested the source code compilation.

Very bad launch, guys.. I mined the coin with 2.7MH  for like 2 hours, when the diff. was very low, but my balance is 1.3 coins. You should provide at least one working pool before launching the coin. I wish you best of luck, but I will move to other coins.

Not a bad launch lol, just the first pool was bad.. So far I am getting the best results from the p2pool.  Try that, and MineBig.com is making a stratum pool today  http://VGC.MineBig.com  but check out the official site http://VegasCoin.co for more info.

And thanks to that guy who found an issue, I will update this Monday.

I think it was a very bad launch. Few people got to mine couple of days by themselves when others couldn't because there was no working wallet.

The windows wallet is up, and we have tons of pools with a few exchanges emailing about adding VegasCoin very soon!  The windows wallet bounty is no longer active as we already have it.  Thank you all for your support!

Also we have a Limo company and a Nightclub excited to start accepting VegasCoin, next stop is the Wynn Casino!

Even though pooled.cc is buggy and has a lot of graphic glitches, like balance doesn't show up in Dashboard and more, it did pay out every share I made there.

You just select the coin to cashout and you'll see your funds. Checking at Transactions also helps to keep track.
So overall pool is fine ..ish. Just that it died for a good few hours earlier today so I switched.

Good luck.

When we started VegasCoin we had two things in mind, putting the power of the money in the peopleís hands just like bitcoin, and many other alt currencies just like it do.  Offering only 100,000,000 coins total, with a faster more secure system than bitcoin even provides.  However we wanted to bring the municipality aspect into the system, to help keep the money cycled inside Las Vegas, Nevada and promote tourism to future guests.

Just like Auroracoin that shot up over 1000% in one day, for the Icelandic community in Iceland!

We also did not over saturate our coins, we chose to use almost the same algorithm as litecoin who offers 84,000,000 coins to our 100,000,000 coins. Currently as I am writing this on March 5th 2014, VegasCoin is worth $0.05 per coin, itís currently a buyerís market!

Our mission since day one has been to get VegasCoin created then accepted by local businesses who can then take part in the growth.  So far we are in the talks with a limo company, nightclub, and advertising company along with plans to even meet with local Las Vegas, Nevada casino & hotel marketing directors and owners.

Do understand like anything, everyone wants to see results.  We understand that, and in just under 25 days we managed to not only create VegasCoin, but also the website, wallet and even exposure to 2 crypto currency exchanges.  Most people who hear about the coin, instantly say what a great name we have due to the popular recognition of Las Vegas, Nevada as the vacation hot spot itís already known for.

All in all, do what you want but I can tell you with the plan, name, and system behind this coin.  Anything under $1.00 a coin is a for sure buy in my book.  Thank you for reading this, and please feel free to show your support at www.VegasCoin.co

Good News, it's a perfect storm; Solid Crypto Currency, Fair Release and stable Block Rewards, Local Currency for a World renown city, Vegas is already a haven for Crypto enthusiasts, and plus its got the gambling coin element for online sites. VGC should go far, keep up the good work.

Vegas has the local currency potential, its a big crypto town already, potentially a lot of avenues for local businesses to accept and use it, thus playing into the demand, and giving it a nice niche, coins need niche and community,
If the vegas community take to it, then it could go far.

Hey, aren`t you worried about that more than 90% NET hashrate is concentrated only in one pool?

Possible 51% attack is very serious problem IMO

klokz

The current difficulty is around 20 and 1 block gives only 30 coins.
So your calculations are wrong. With 300kh/s you might expect, ehh maybe 0.3 coins/hour or so.

That s like saying on a litecoin thread or ant other altcoin with the same goals: "But there is Bitcoin already"
There are other casino's than the ones in Vegas, but there s only one Vegas.  Smiley

In short: It s about more than just the casino's.

Hi all,

I've been way more active on cryptocointalk, and not so much over here. Being the developer of Vegas coin, that was not a good idea. My bad, mea culpa, and I offer an appology to the community over here.

From today onwards, I'll be around here on a daily basis as well, just as I am available on cryptocointalk and IRC (freenode.net channel #vegascoin). If anybody has a wallet problem, please let me know!

Some quick solutions for wallet problems here:

1) Vegascoin made a change in wallets where from block 25000 and up, all blocks were processed using the Kimoto Gravity Well. If you have an old wallet, and you;re stuck on block 24999, and no new connections are made, the solution is simple: Download the new wallet from http://vegascoin.co/wallet-downloads/ and you'll be fine again!

2) Wallet is current version, but it seems not to be connecting. Check if you have your config file! ~/.vegascoin.conf on Linux, c:\users\sven\appdata\roaming\vegascoin on Windows. If you don't have that file, create it now, make sure that on Linux the file has 0600 permissions! Now, make sure that in the config file you have this line:

Code:
addnode=node.vegascoin.co

Once you have that, your wallet will connect!

What? its still not connecting? Please check if your firewall is not blocking the wallet! I have encountered more than a few people who were just being blocked by firewall / anti virus etc.

Have a great mining all, Vegas coin FTW!

Mintcoin votes needed!

So we are progressing well with the development and marketing of VegasCoin. A lot is being done, but one of the things that we still need more is exchanges!

We're in contact with various exchanges, but some of the better ones require votes to be able to be traded. So we have one favor to ask our fine and fast growing community, that is to help us gain the MintPal exchange.

So far Brandon personally has already sent 0.1 BTC and is planning to send more. Other users already sent up to 0.3BTC as well, so we are well on our way. Please help us with making vegascoin grow sky high!

See http://www.reddit.com/r/VegasCoin/comments/24hcjd/votes_needed_on_mintpal_exchange/ (Please help with upvotes!!) and http://vegascoin.co/mintpal-exchange-votes-wanted/ for more information

Please go to https://www.mintpal.com/voting and make your votes count so that Vegascoin can be traded there as well!

Lol who leaks this stuff! Yes that is true, sorry for the delay we have been very busy with upgrades to the website, updating the other languages and even finalizing the Android Wallet.  All this to get ready for our local market to open up, and have our 10 local businesses added with open spots for any local companies or online businesses willing to accept VGC.

Please excuse my absence from this website, it gave me a few issues before when trying to comment saying I already tried to do so, and had to wait.  We are also in the process of expanding the team, we have an online marketing spot open that will solve this very issue.  I myself am involved in the website development and local marketing full time now, so please understand we are working very very hard everyday on this.  More updates coming soon, and more giveaways once we get everything finished up.

Thanks for your support on VegasCoin!

And here is the car so far, I got this to fix up and will be wrapping the entire thing in 30 days or so.

And just to prove it's mine and not a BS statement:

Big news takes time to get done, I can tell you the Android dev told us he should be done any day now... He ran into a few issues but looks like it should be done any day now.

The big news is covered with NDA's and contracts at this time, but I have leaked some pics that might give it away Wink

We have already completed our very first giveaway for 1000 VGC and I will be putting on a new giveaway in the next 24 to 48 hours!

Also some of you may have noticed I added the BUY button to the website, well right now we are working on a merchant account to protect against charge backs.  This Buy option will also provide a web based wallet with a SELL feature also coming soon, this will 100% allow people to buy/hold and sell VGC all on our website direct with USD and other currencies coming soon!

All this in hopes to help new fans who might not understand bitcoin, nor have an account to buy bitcoin get into VegasCoin with little to know crypto knowledge.  Also allowing businesses to instantly sell their VGC to us and obtain their USD if they wish Smiley

Once this is done, we will be the first one to do so I think.. please correct me if I am wrong, but we do strive everyday on this project and have big ties with Las Vegas, Nevada businesses.

Pito your awesome! for sure our #1 fan, and I will never forget that!

This guy literally explains why VGC has the potential to succeed where other coins are just trying to copy Bitcoin. Smiley

And I quote:

"When a new coin is launched, ask anyone in crypto about it and they will tell you what algorithm is used, how many coins there will be, whether itís a proof-of-work coin, or proof-of-stake, or a hybrid. They may talk about a cool new wallet feature, or a faucet or dice game, or their fancy website or some mobile app they are developing to fund future projects.

All this is great. And the general public cares nothing about any of it.

The public doesnít care whether you have a keychain with your logo on it. They donít care if your algorithm is eco-friendly, or if there are 15 million or 100 million coins. In fact, the public doesnít even know about you, because you have done nothing to get their interest. Before you ever create your coin, you need to figure out how you will distinguish yourself to the world outside of crypto.

How does your coin differ from Bitcoin? Is it faster? Well, a lot of coins are, but thatís not enough. Can your coin be used in an online service to reduce paypal and credit card fees? That would interest the public. Can it be used Ė easily Ė for streamlined and inexpensive international money transfers? Huge.

As an investor I want to know your plans up front. Iím not putting my money into your coin unless you can tell me why it will have value. And I want to know you have the team to realize those plans, which leads toÖ."

In the end it's the dev team that will have to take the necessary steps to achieve this goal and from what I can tell they are reaching for the sky, I mean... THE MOON!  Cool

Not to be always doubting but I have heard this from so many developers. They have not shown a single thing that gives this coin value. They have a bunch of well we have great things coming but we cant tell you. Maybe they are buying all the cheap coins and they do have something or maybe they over estimate their abilities. I was a big supporter of this development team and this coin. But I have seen nothing that wants me to keep supporting it.

I completely understand your point of view, I too have my doubts. However, the things that kept me going over the last few weeks/month are:

- they started a business for VGC
- the wrapping of the Corvette (which has sadly also been delayed) is a great promotional tool
- planning to make it easier for non-crypto people to buy VGC is a great concept, but will have to prove itself once it rolls out
- the Android wallet could be ready any day now, this should give us a better idea of what's to come. (is it stable? reliable? secure? easy to use? professionally developed? ...)
- with the Android wallet out, businesses should follow pretty quickly... If/When this happens things could go very fast.
- I have been chatting with the dev trough pm from time to time and there is alot more stuff going on behind the scenes, they just can't say anything about it publicly because of NDA's and as long as it's not a sure thing it would be wrong to put it out there.

The community is relatively small, the original dev team was only 2 people with a full-time job (don't know if they have more staff right now) This makes large investments hard and very risk full. All this results in very slow progress in a platform (crypto) where everyone wants to see things happening as fast as possible. And if it doesn't they lose interest... Personally I agree with the article previously posted and most coins aim to pump and dump but will fail in the long run, since they have no actual plan to use their coin in the real world any different from Bitcoin. Only a minor few are different and I truly believe VGC is one of them. Slowly progressing, but still...

Time will tell if they have the ability to realize their ambition. But if they do, we're in for a serious ride!  Grin

I hope your right. I have been thinking this is a long term coin but even long term coins need some growth otherwise they fade away. I really like the idea and if they pull this off that would be great. I just have a hard time believing any descent size business will want to use a no name small community coin. I hope they pull this out like i originally thought.

Somebody was using a program to generate orders that were always one increment higher than the highest bid. Any new order were immediately leapfrogged so that all sales went to the buyer who wrote the auto bid script. What I did was leapfrog those orders one at a time until I found the limit where the program stopped trying to buy all the coins that were dumped onto the Bitcoins.

Then I noticed that the opposite was now happening. The autoscript was selling coins one increment lower than the lower ask. The script undersold any new leading orders that were placed.

So I placed my buy order at the tiniest increase above the highest ask. And one increment higher than that, I placed 10 shares for sale. Not only did the auto script dump all it's shares into my significantly lower bid and fill it, but I think this low priced sale triggered some stop orders to dump shares as well. The exchange immediately closed very quickly after I was getting all those cheap coins, so I suspect it was the trading exchange that is responsible for the activity I found.

I'm pretty sure VegaCoin is aware of what happened because they removed Bittrex from their page almost at the same time. There must have been a discussion.

I hate Bitcoin very much but I'm willing to give VegsCoin my support at this time because it has potential exactly as the founders have imagined. I absolutely believe it will draw marketing attention.

Casinos ban their employees from being customers and employees at the same time. Whereas banks can consider it to be an act of dishonesty if an employee doesn't use the company's financial service products. In my opinion, Vegas should run the exchanges and banks should develop financial service products and merchant services. In my opinion, this could be better customer service ethics.

If it was me, I think it is better to find casinos to open USD/VGC exchanges and then let banks outside of Las Vegas worry about making the financial services products. Marketing is the gold mine to be found in VegasCoin. It would really help if the city could get involved here with municipal backing. My question is, can the city remint the VegasCoin with a small city muni bond? Can the new coin have laws, regulations, oversight and customer service? I think it would be a good way to keep the currency centralized in the city where everybody wants to go. And it would also allow financial services and pinpoint marketing outside of the city limits.

As far as growth, my first impression is that growth is an illusion. If Bitcoin crashes and loses half it's value, then it will cause the price of VegasCoin to grows twice as high. But VegasCoin didn't ever grow in terms of United States Dollars. Bitcoin crashed, that's all.

The immediate step is to maybe find a way to build a cash for VGC exchange and a way to keep those exchanges in the city limits. Until then, I think VGC and BTC are on opposite ends of a sea-saw. I believe the dollar will crash or gold will spike and either of these two events will punish Bitcoin prices. That is when VegasCoin will rocket in terms of Bitcoin. At this time, VegasCoin effectively serves as an option instrument to buy Bitcoins in a Bitcoin price crash event. There really is no other use for it, yet, because you can only buy VegasCoin with Bitcoins.

My idea is to re-mint a VegasCoin with a municipal bond instrument and bring it into the mainstream financial services system. It will always be worth a VegasCoin because it was born from a VegasCoin. The hybrid value of adding a municipal bond will add to that base value. And if Bitcoin crashes, then you can cheaply capture and add another one of those into the hybrid coin, too. Vegas is the PERFECT place for this experiment to be attempted. Marketing would be unbelievably precise and highly effective like nothing ever tried before. I KNOW I can sell VegasCoin in Hawaii if there was a casino that was willing to listen to my ideas. This could be very exciting if it can be adopted into the generally accepted financial sytem.

No such thing, volume was just to low... They will put it back when/if VGC shows some growth.
It would be very stupid to put an autoscript on a coin with low volume. Not saying it's impossible however...

yes i confirm that now, as on that day i was watching the order book at Bittrex and it was crazy! then i checked another exchanges, comkort the orderbook looked normal, Allcrypt got some crazy buy and sell from the same person.

Also, maybe Bittrex was testing the new "Order Type" thing.

I really do not mean to be negative it just gets tough when you guys can only say "you just wait" because so many have said it and nothing comes from it. I have been a supporter since day 1 even through the high difficulty time before KGW was implemented. I will not dump because I think this coin has potential it is just hard to sit back when nothing new has happened for awhile.

Yes, we "wait"... That's just it. Do something positive for a change.  Cheesy
What are you guys thinking? Hey, here's a good idea: I would like to see this coin grow to it's full potential and show others how much I believe these devs can actually make this happen. Let's complain about how slow it's going on every single thread... That'll probably help!  Undecided

At least the devs are actually DOING SOMETHING instead of just another quick pump and dump story with big speeches about all the technicalities nobody cares about. But hey, I get it. Compared to those dead end coins this IS a very slow growing one.

There was a big boost in price. For those that do not follow this coin the developers do not really post here very often so do not think they are missing. It is something we investors have just learnt how to accept. They do have some big things in the works with businesses in Vegas. It will not be for gambling but for other services you find in Vegas. If you want these coins cheap you might want to buy soon. There are very few sell orders so this coin will most likely keep going up.

I am surprised that no one is talking about the sudden jump in price. Maybe what the dev was telling us is true that the businesses will be buying some of the coin before it announces they accept them. Or maybe it is the developers buying them. Undecided

There was no boost, there's barely any volume atm. Just one guy buying up some coins, that's all VGC needs right now to "boost" the price. I think this will go on for some time... As long as there's no real news, there'll be no real trading.  Wink

It's quiet all around... Even on cctalk.
There's only two options imo:
Or they have their reasons to keep things quiet (as they have claimed several times) and have huge stuff in the works as a company while they/investors buy/mine a load of VGC.
Or they're keeping their heads high while still trying to get this coin of the ground.
My bet is on the first one. Cool

All this coin needs is a real spark that will light up it's true potential. So far nothing official had the ability to do that... Could be any day, could be next year. I'm as clueless as the rest of you.  Huh Grin

Yep. I have followed this coin since the beginning and mined for a long time. I am very mixed on what they are doing. Part believes they do have a deal and are just trying to get their coins so they can profit. But then another part thinks they are just hoping these things happen. I dont know any more.

My guess is they're aiming to get on a bigger exchange together with the release of planned updates/releases.

VGC is currently listed nr 7 on Cryptsy...  Smiley

I've also noticed the network hashrate exploded a few days ago, just because of some speculation... Back to 'normal' now, but imagine what real news would do.  Wink

For those wondering, I know they plan to release:
- Android wallet (will automatically lead to previously mentioned businesses accepting VGC)
- Direct buy option (no bitcoin or exchanges needed)
- Wallet client update (don't know any details about this)
- I've also read on fb about a new website with a completely new service in crypto (which will take "VGC under it's wing")
- ... Other than that they've been keeping it very 'hush hush'

That's not the whole story. From what I can see they are trying to build something new and got rid of all the bad apples several months ago, completely re-branded and are now in closed beta.
Then again it's not up to me to say what stays and what goes.  Wink

Cryptorush or not. Not really an issue atm since they're in closed beta.

Anyone had the chance to test the Android wallet? Thoughts?
In my experience it just 'works'! Won't have the chance to test it 'in the field' soon myself sadly.  Cheesy

whats happening people.

I'm new to VegasCoin...wow you are sitting on a gold mine here. The name is perfect and if marketed aggressively enough for full adoption in Vegas well then Vegas Baby!

If you can get the big boy casinos on board then its moon and beyond permanently. It seems with the deep pockets in Vegas, why wouldn't they give this a shot?

VegasCoin will hit $100 a pop if the large casinos adopt. High rollers = high dollars.

Keep on knocking on doors and get the "big deal" and I will keep mining Smiley

It is Vegas so lining pockets isn't out of the question.

Have you fixed this yet?

If not try contacting the devs on cctalk

Hi and welcome,

Long time supporter here  Wink Nice read, with the exact long term vision I've been seeing since the start of VGC!

The problem with the current crypto community is that it's full of people trying to find a 'get rich quick coin' and want/expect it to happen overnight. They don't care about long term, or the coin itself... And that's a problem. VGC IS long term.  Cool
Nobody seems to remember that BTC took YEARS to get where it's at right now and it's still FAR FROM mainstream or anything like it.

In my opinion VGC is the only coin I've stumbled upon that has a different future planned other than just providing another form of "decentralized, anonymous, fast, safe,... blabla" form of payment. In other words, they're not trying to compete with BTC like most coins, they're only trying to co-exist. And with the right connections and timing, I believe they will def succeed!

Funny how when nothing is happening people come and troll the threads, posting all kind of negativity. Now that the Android wallet is actually there, more is soon to follow... And yet the threads are quiet and the trading is average but stable. It seems like rumors, leaks and assumptions cause more 'disturbance' than actual news. Weird that is  Wink

Anyway I'd invite you to join us on cctalk too. Little more activity there. A small community, but bound to grow once this underdog shows it's true potential.

Ps.: I hope you fixed the problem mentioned before. If not, let me know. I'll get you in touch with one of the devs if necessary.

More like 0.5 BTC and even more @ Comkort. Wink A few large buys have very little impact in the long run. Only a couple of weeks ago VGC reached #63 on coinmarketcap.com. But dropped right down again the days after, because the trading isn't stable, yet... Real use of the coin will probably boost the popularity and with it the price and stability.

Sorry for not being here as much as the other forum, this system sometimes gives me login issues and I have also been very busy promoting the coin!

So far we have released our Android wallet, along with updating the windows wallet with a nice Vegas style GUI.  This week has been busy, but I still managed to sign up my own local advertising company and another clients Limo company to start accepting VegasCoin!

Also we have paid for some votes on cryptsy, and plan to do the same with BleuTrdae later next week.  Keep strong and know we are working hard in Las Vegas, Nevada everyday!

P.S.  Casino meetings are also set!, should have news later next month Smiley

Hello #VegasCoin community, I want to personally address the community and fans of VegasCoin.  I do want to thank everyone for their support, and also address my efforts for advancing the acceptance of VGC all over the Las Vegas, Nevada valley.

Due to our small development team, and prior projects we know some efforts could have been done better, but do understand we have put every ounce of extra energy and money into this project. If you have not heard or noticed by our official Facebook page, we have successfully signed up 4 local businesses ( http://vegascoin.co/businesses ) with a few more wanting us to teach them how to accept cryptocurrencies.  I only hold off adding them, because I want EVERY SINGLE business to get my hands on touch, and ensure the best quality and ease of use as possible.  Please show your support and start buying VGC on any of our exchanges, and just wait for the traction to start picking up towards the end of the year!  We have some really big fish, but as with anything it just takes time to perfectly ensure something on a larger scale.

Thank you everyone!

You are 100% Correct, that is why we are working hard to expand the places to spend VGC.  Most companies now are treating it as a coupon due to the low value at this time.  But the great part is, if they give you 10$ off a service or a 10$ free drink.. then we must be worth $1.... in time, oh in due time Cheesy

This whole no charge back, and anonymous part is the true seller!  Plus we advertise any company willing to accept VGC 100% Free!

They normally only post on cryptocoin talk. Even then they do not post much. They say they are working on it but have not seen any real changes. But I also do not pay attention to this ocin that much. Busy with my own stuff and figure if they do come through with what they say they are working on then this coin will be a pretty nice coin.

Keep up the chatter people.

Vegascoin has the potential to own the Las Vegas scene more than any other alt.

The name alone is priceless and has lasting power.

Enjoy the current prices and accumulate!

What is happening with VGC, it has become almost worthless, dropped by 90% in the past week. I know a lot of people are stopping the mining of it and moving on. If some buyer support does not materialize this thing could be in the toilet.

A quick update for those still interested:

VGC is not dead (yet).  Cool There has been a bump in the road however. The main dev team kindly informed me that because of a setback with their company (daytime job) they had no option but to put VGC on hold. This means all money, time, resources and energy needed to be invested in keeping their daytime job. You have to keep in mind this coin was set up by two regular guys with a fulltime marketing job. No matter how much potential VGC has, they can't risk their own company for it. (yet)  Grin

On the plus side: (!)

- servers are still up and the network is still very stable
- more businesses are slowly but surely showing interest
- exchanges are showing quite few large trades since the last 'business' got added.  Wink

They ensured me once the company gets back on track (which should be pretty soon) the focus will be put back on VGC.

Rember: BTC took 4 years to 'BOOM' and still hasn't gone mainstream. VGC is barely year old, very barely... Think about it. It's VEGAS! It's patented! It's coming... Not today, not tomorrow, probably not this season or even year, but it's coming, it's VGC!

I have said this before, this forum gives me login issues all the time.  I tend to use the other crypto talk website more, to answer any questions and concerns please read the following.

When we started VegasCoin we never anticipated how much time and money this would be consuming.  We have put in well over $40,000 USD of our own money & Investor money to expand and grow the project.  During the past few months our company Brisk Advertising INC has been suffering due to panda 4.1 update.. this caused my monthly net profits to drop over 70%!   I have been trying to save my business everyday, and we have came though with almost every promise we have made.  Now the car, if your asking?.. The 1985 Corvette has had transmission issues, so I sold the car and plan to replace the idea with an even better car. I am only human and this is life, shit happens and I hope you all can understand that.  We have plans that if VGC hits a price point, we will be trying to acquire an old Ferrari.. Still nothing set in stone about what point that will be, but it is being talked about for a promotion.  But this is just a small promotion, what you should be talking about is our efforts to expand to more local businesses.

The main reason VegasCoin gained so much respect is our moodiest attitude towards the entire project.  I have never made a crypto coin, nor have my partners.  We have just noticed a huge increase in the volume over the past few days, this spiked the interest of some investors.  Allowing us to make plans this next week December 15th - 19th to go out and talk to around 3-5 businesses per day in the Las Vegas area about VegasCoin.

Now lets face it... VegasCoin is just like LiteCoin in most aspects.. we are nothing cutting edge and offer no new methods.  With that being said, we know our only option is to make this a local thing, that is why we plan to use VegasCoin as a coupon system.  Take one VGC here and get this, or some participating locations are willing to even accept it 100% same as cash.  Just recently I locked in a deal with one of the largest escort agencies in Las Vegas, they have already promised to treat VGC 100% same as cash.  This Las Vegas Escort agency provides around 200 beautiful girls and many websites to choose from.  We are helping them update their entire system and at the same time teach them how to use and accept the cryptocurrency.

I feel with my sales record, this next week we should be seeing around 3-5 business per day.  That is a MAX of 25 businesses if we saw 5 everyday, I honestly think I can close around 50% of these businesses or more. Now if you know nothing about Vegas, then let me fill you in on how KICK back city works.  Everyone in this town pays for customers, to promoters, or ads, ect... it's just how this city works.  So when we as a team go out to talk with the businesses about accepting VegasCoin, we plan to say as follows:

" Would you like more customers?  And do you run any local coupons or promotions right now?  Well I am sure you know as most marketing or advertising works, your not only redeeming that said coupon your also paying for printing every month.  Plus paying the original marketing or advertising company.

I have a better way, and I want you to commit to try it!  It requires no upfront money and no monthly printing costs, just hear me out as I explain.  VegasCoin is 100% secure, fast, and has the potential to increase in value unlike most paper coupons.  Now I am sure you can provide a free drink or 10% off of your services for a person showing up with a VegasCoin?   Well just to explain, we are in no way profiting from this coupon system.  The acceptance of it is what makes its value grow.  There are no stock options in this, its all about the coins so as you accept and hold them you make the profits with everyone else involved.

Let me use strip clubs as an example, they pay around $50 - $100 per PERSON! that is just crazy to be -$100 on a customer right when he walks in the door.  You might ask well who gets paid that cash? The Promoter or VIP host who sent you, along with the driver.  Our plan is to try our best, but this is hard because you always have a driver... but we can for sure eliminate the promoter profits, passing those savings to the business and customer.  "

Now I could go on and on about this, but I feel by now you get the point and our goal ideas... look around Las Vegas right now, how many places accept Bitcoin?... I think I can count them on 2 hands, so if we can get 10+ businesses that should be a huge success for this upcoming week.

Once again I am sorry for the delay, and as always thank you for supporting our cause.  We are just trying to save businesses money and help customers in the Las Vegas area.  Please show your support by buying some VGC today, it really does encourage the Developers and Investors.

@byates

Thank you for making a statement, it is good to hear that VGC is still moving forward.

All the best with Brisk Advertising INC.

In regards to VegasCoin...godspeed! VegasCoin is still on of the best names out there and it seems the marketing possibilities are endless.

Lets put VegasCoin on the map in 2015!

This is my request from Cryptocointalk about my issue with my vegascoin wallet and lost coins. There seems to be no one watching thread there. Was checking to see if anyone here has had any issues or have any suggestions.

Tried to download wallet - web page was gone. I can understand if someone has not got the time to do further work for a while, but I do not understand an inability to download a wallet because a webpage is done - that is not a good situation at all.

Was only down for couple of days. I'm guessing a hosting service problem... No worries there!  Grin

any nice update to make this Coin rise ?

I released exclusive info on crypto coin talk " So far we have an agreement with a Hosting Company to try and put VegasCoin in their platform and the owners of Game Player Rewards are also trying to find a way to incorporate VegasCoin!  As I have said before, anything big will take some time such as the GPR deal.  They have to test our platform in a LAB environment as they say, with techs trying to crash or cheat our system. If it passes we have a shot!  Also the hosting company is just trying to take their existing venues and ask that they all treat VGC as a coupon.  1 VGC = 1 free drink or 1 VGC = 10% off or 1 VGC = buy one get one

Honestly I saw the big spike of buys a few weeks back, and I think it was the LAB techs lol  I am currently about to buy up a ton of VGC once I have some funds moved around. "

Same problem. I sent 40,000 to comcort and they will not confirm. As I live in Las Vegas I mined this non stop, as I wanted this to be our city coin. I just looked at the wallet and last upgrade was August 2014. Bryon, can you please help us?

There is not even a "wallet repair option". I have emptied the roaming/vegascoin folder except wallet.dat and it resyncs with same problem.

Byron, just tell us..have you given up on this?

Vegas

I want to make sure everyone knows that I just released my software called "Yobit pump alert". THis is custom software that uses an algo to detect the start of a pump here on yobit, the second it starts. YOu can even filter the coins you see by price. Most pumps start less than 100 sats , so you can easily filter the cheap coins, so they are the only ones displayed Smiley https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1945937.msg20241953#msg20241953

I still think this coin has some great potential, they just need to hand it over to a full time dev and I am sure the community will continue with the strong support.

I think the marketing team is doing an awesome Job getting different businesses to accept the coin!

What we need is a dev with more time for this amazing project!

If anyone has VegasCoin on AllCrypt you may want to get your coins off before they go offline.  https://www.allcrypt.com/blog/2015/03/allcrypt-com-will-be-going-offline-for-a-while/
