Maybe I am thinking of a different exchange but I am pretty sure they said that is why it is down in VGS cryptocoin talk thread. That is where the dev post most of the time.

Not to be always doubting but I have heard this from so many developers. They have not shown a single thing that gives this coin value. They have a bunch of well we have great things coming but we cant tell you. Maybe they are buying all the cheap coins and they do have something or maybe they over estimate their abilities. I was a big supporter of this development team and this coin. But I have seen nothing that wants me to keep supporting it.

I completely understand your point of view, I too have my doubts. However, the things that kept me going over the last few weeks/month are:

- they started a business for VGC
- the wrapping of the Corvette (which has sadly also been delayed) is a great promotional tool
- planning to make it easier for non-crypto people to buy VGC is a great concept, but will have to prove itself once it rolls out
- the Android wallet could be ready any day now, this should give us a better idea of what's to come. (is it stable? reliable? secure? easy to use? professionally developed? ...)
- with the Android wallet out, businesses should follow pretty quickly... If/When this happens things could go very fast.
- I have been chatting with the dev trough pm from time to time and there is alot more stuff going on behind the scenes, they just can't say anything about it publicly because of NDA's and as long as it's not a sure thing it would be wrong to put it out there.

The community is relatively small, the original dev team was only 2 people with a full-time job (don't know if they have more staff right now) This makes large investments hard and very risk full. All this results in very slow progress in a platform (crypto) where everyone wants to see things happening as fast as possible. And if it doesn't they lose interest... Personally I agree with the article previously posted and most coins aim to pump and dump but will fail in the long run, since they have no actual plan to use their coin in the real world any different from Bitcoin. Only a minor few are different and I truly believe VGC is one of them. Slowly progressing, but still...

Time will tell if they have the ability to realize their ambition. But if they do, we're in for a serious ride!  Grin

I hope your right. I have been thinking this is a long term coin but even long term coins need some growth otherwise they fade away. I really like the idea and if they pull this off that would be great. I just have a hard time believing any descent size business will want to use a no name small community coin. I hope they pull this out like i originally thought.

Somebody was using a program to generate orders that were always one increment higher than the highest bid. Any new order were immediately leapfrogged so that all sales went to the buyer who wrote the auto bid script. What I did was leapfrog those orders one at a time until I found the limit where the program stopped trying to buy all the coins that were dumped onto the Bitcoins.

Then I noticed that the opposite was now happening. The autoscript was selling coins one increment lower than the lower ask. The script undersold any new leading orders that were placed.

So I placed my buy order at the tiniest increase above the highest ask. And one increment higher than that, I placed 10 shares for sale. Not only did the auto script dump all it's shares into my significantly lower bid and fill it, but I think this low priced sale triggered some stop orders to dump shares as well. The exchange immediately closed very quickly after I was getting all those cheap coins, so I suspect it was the trading exchange that is responsible for the activity I found.

I'm pretty sure VegaCoin is aware of what happened because they removed Bittrex from their page almost at the same time. There must have been a discussion.

I hate Bitcoin very much but I'm willing to give VegsCoin my support at this time because it has potential exactly as the founders have imagined. I absolutely believe it will draw marketing attention.

Casinos ban their employees from being customers and employees at the same time. Whereas banks can consider it to be an act of dishonesty if an employee doesn't use the company's financial service products. In my opinion, Vegas should run the exchanges and banks should develop financial service products and merchant services. In my opinion, this could be better customer service ethics.

If it was me, I think it is better to find casinos to open USD/VGC exchanges and then let banks outside of Las Vegas worry about making the financial services products. Marketing is the gold mine to be found in VegasCoin. It would really help if the city could get involved here with municipal backing. My question is, can the city remint the VegasCoin with a small city muni bond? Can the new coin have laws, regulations, oversight and customer service? I think it would be a good way to keep the currency centralized in the city where everybody wants to go. And it would also allow financial services and pinpoint marketing outside of the city limits.

As far as growth, my first impression is that growth is an illusion. If Bitcoin crashes and loses half it's value, then it will cause the price of VegasCoin to grows twice as high. But VegasCoin didn't ever grow in terms of United States Dollars. Bitcoin crashed, that's all.

The immediate step is to maybe find a way to build a cash for VGC exchange and a way to keep those exchanges in the city limits. Until then, I think VGC and BTC are on opposite ends of a sea-saw. I believe the dollar will crash or gold will spike and either of these two events will punish Bitcoin prices. That is when VegasCoin will rocket in terms of Bitcoin. At this time, VegasCoin effectively serves as an option instrument to buy Bitcoins in a Bitcoin price crash event. There really is no other use for it, yet, because you can only buy VegasCoin with Bitcoins.

My idea is to re-mint a VegasCoin with a municipal bond instrument and bring it into the mainstream financial services system. It will always be worth a VegasCoin because it was born from a VegasCoin. The hybrid value of adding a municipal bond will add to that base value. And if Bitcoin crashes, then you can cheaply capture and add another one of those into the hybrid coin, too. Vegas is the PERFECT place for this experiment to be attempted. Marketing would be unbelievably precise and highly effective like nothing ever tried before. I KNOW I can sell VegasCoin in Hawaii if there was a casino that was willing to listen to my ideas. This could be very exciting if it can be adopted into the generally accepted financial sytem.

No such thing, volume was just to low... They will put it back when/if VGC shows some growth.
It would be very stupid to put an autoscript on a coin with low volume. Not saying it's impossible however...

yes i confirm that now, as on that day i was watching the order book at Bittrex and it was crazy! then i checked another exchanges, comkort the orderbook looked normal, Allcrypt got some crazy buy and sell from the same person.

Also, maybe Bittrex was testing the new "Order Type" thing.

I really do not mean to be negative it just gets tough when you guys can only say "you just wait" because so many have said it and nothing comes from it. I have been a supporter since day 1 even through the high difficulty time before KGW was implemented. I will not dump because I think this coin has potential it is just hard to sit back when nothing new has happened for awhile.

Yes, we "wait"... That's just it. Do something positive for a change.  Cheesy
What are you guys thinking? Hey, here's a good idea: I would like to see this coin grow to it's full potential and show others how much I believe these devs can actually make this happen. Let's complain about how slow it's going on every single thread... That'll probably help!  Undecided

At least the devs are actually DOING SOMETHING instead of just another quick pump and dump story with big speeches about all the technicalities nobody cares about. But hey, I get it. Compared to those dead end coins this IS a very slow growing one.

BTW: Missed the huge deal post? Here it is: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=741497372537650

There was a big boost in price. For those that do not follow this coin the developers do not really post here very often so do not think they are missing. It is something we investors have just learnt how to accept. They do have some big things in the works with businesses in Vegas. It will not be for gambling but for other services you find in Vegas. If you want these coins cheap you might want to buy soon. There are very few sell orders so this coin will most likely keep going up.

I am surprised that no one is talking about the sudden jump in price. Maybe what the dev was telling us is true that the businesses will be buying some of the coin before it announces they accept them. Or maybe it is the developers buying them. Undecided
