Would be easier to list all prices in $CAD then upon checkout convert it to the current BTC rate using cavirtex or something. Or show both prices. Just my $0.02 Do you guy's have used 1u racks?

The 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 is $199.99 on newegg.ca and it's $199.99 on newegg.com but there is a $65 off promotion right now. We strive to have the lowest prices out there, but sometimes other retailers have promotions that are exclusive to that location. Our website updates prices automatically, so if our costs go down on an item the prices will adjust. This is making me want another SSD... Prices are dropping so quickly, I can't wait until the TB's come down to HDD-like prices!

Ok here is a quick price comparison of a few products selected at random comparing our prices to NCIX.com and Newegg.ca, two massive retailers. The prices below are current as of this writing but tomorrow they could be different. The prices in brackets are the regular non-promotional prices. Item | NCIX.com Price | Newegg.ca Price | WTCR.ca price | WTCR.ca Price ($) | Seagate 2TB ST2000DL003 HDD | $139.98 | $119.99 | 25.63 BTC | $129.94 | Asus P9X79 | $259.99 ($282.50) | $269.99 | 61.11 BTC | $309.82 | Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Motherboard | $194.49 ($219.62) | $209.99 | 45.11 BTC | $228.71 | BenQ G2450HM 24" LCD | $179.99 ($200.98) | $186.99 | 38.96 BTC | $197.53 | Thermaltake TRX-1200M TR2 1200W PSU | $239.99 | $225.99 ($254.99) | 46.75 BTC | $237.02 | Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 OC 11196-02-40G GPU | $429.99 ($499.99) | no stock/deactivated | 90.23 BTC | $457.47 | Asus GeForce GTX 680 GTX680-2GD5 GPU | $599.99 | $529.99 no stock | 112.78 BTC | $571.79 | Intel Core i3-2100 CPU | $130.98 | $119.99 | 26.24 BTC | $133.04 | Intel Core i7-3820 CPU | $349.98 | $309.99 | 62.54 BTC | $317.08 |
As you can see, our prices are very competitive. We might be a few bucks higher here and there, but on certain items we even beat them! If you have bitcoin and you are in the market for buying some computer hardware, there really is no other better option. The above BTC to $ conversions were done at $5.07/BTC which is the current rate. If you wanted to purchase an item from Newegg.ca, let's say you wanted to buy the Seagate 2TB ST2000DL003 Hard Drive. They want $119.99 for it. Now with your bitcoins, if you sold them to cavirtex.com, at this moment the rate is $4.76/BTC to sell. So it is going to cost you 25.21 BTC to get it, there are 0.59% conversion trade fee there and to withdrawal it's another $6 fee, so you're going to be in the 26-27 BTC range by the time you have the funds in your bank (which will take a few days) plus when you pay for the item at Newegg.ca, hopefully you can pay instantly somehow but if you need to pay via eCheck you will wait even longer. At WTCR.ca, you can have your transaction paid for in a minute and save BTC in the process! Another method would be to use canadianbitcoins.com. Their sell rate right now is $4.37/BTC. If you get paid via a TD payee there is a $2 fee, but if you want cash the fees range between $8 and $18 plus you have to wait for the snail mail delivery of your money, which by the time it arrives you could have already recieved your hard drive. So $119.99 is going to cost you 27.46 BTC plus a minimum 0.45 BTC TD payee fee. Bitegg.net (now Giftcoin.net) offers Newegg gift certificates, they offered Newegg.ca ones for the longest time but I guess they are no longer available, but they still do Newegg.com gift certificates. For the sake of theory, their conversion rate is $4/BTC right now. So a $119.99 gift cert is going to cost you 29.99 BTC. Clearly WTCR.ca is the place to go for all your computer hardware needs. If there is a price that is cheaper on another site, just give us a call at 1-204-272-2945 between 9AM and 6PM CST and we can work something out, we can probably give you a coupon code depending on the situation, on a case-by-case basis.

Since you paid with your $ at NCIX, don't you still have >1500 BTC left? Simply buy 15 more 7970s! Then you'd be styling! Think of us for your next purchase anyway!

I already am thinking about you guys for my next Media Server Build. I got a woody for that 10-bay hot-swap 4U and I think it will fit the bill. As far as my account activation, the email I received said this: bitlane,
Thank you for registering at WTCR - Winnipeg Technology and Computer Renewal. Your application for an account is currently pending approval. Once it has been approved, you will receive another e-mail containing information about how to log in, set your password, and other details.
If you could email me a password, that would be cool. I simply waited for a second email that never came...LOL Next time. BTC + Canada = Win Win for me. bitlane.

Quick tip guys - make info about postage costs available to people without signing up for an account. http://wtcr.ca/catalog/product/cpu-i7382-01^I'm wanting to buy one of these and will probably do it through you guys, although not for a little while as I just spent 90BTC total on some other stuff Need info on shipping costs to the UK, but to buy through you currently, my process is: -Find item -Go to checkout -Sign Up for account -Enter Details -Get total price -Go to exchange -Transfer money into exchange -Exchange to bitcoin -Transfer to wallet -Find item again -Go to checkout -Enter details -Pay So that's ~5 days to get coins, and I've then got a wait of several days for delivery, with possible customs issues and no way to do a chargeback if someone decides to screw me over. Whereas my process for ordering locally, my process is: -Find item -Go to checkout -Hit "Pay with paypal" -Log in -Pay And I get the item within 48 hours. I think to be honest the market for bitcoin-only stores like this isn't really going to work. Just as fairly few stores are paypal-only, bitcoin web-based stores should be able to promote it, but also simultaneously offer other payment methods. That, and making your website more streamlined, is how you'll drive traffic to bitcoin sales. Check out Cigs.eu, they've got a very good implementation.

There is really no need to create an account if you are not making a purchase, and the purchase will work fine and your account will be approved upon purchase, but to make things easier we have disabled the verification for non-purchasing accounts. Now to create an account, all you need to do is confirm your email address using the link that is sent to you (or the one-time-use password). Since you paid with your $ at NCIX, don't you still have >1500 BTC left? Simply buy 15 more 7970s! Then you'd be styling! Think of us for your next purchase anyway! I could see how frustrating that must have been, and there is a list of other accounts which are pending approval but pretty much all the usernames look like spam accounts (they mostly have jewerly, shopping, toys, and a bunch of random charactors at the end) so I think I'll just approve your account and new customers will just have to verify their email addresses to create an account.Quick tip guys - make info about postage costs available to people without signing up for an account. http://wtcr.ca/catalog/product/cpu-i7382-01^I'm wanting to buy one of these and will probably do it through you guys, although not for a little while as I just spent 90BTC total on some other stuff Need info on shipping costs to the UK, but to buy through you currently, my process is: -Find item -Go to checkout -Sign Up for account -Enter Details -Get total price -Go to exchange -Transfer money into exchange -Exchange to bitcoin -Transfer to wallet -Find item again -Go to checkout -Enter details -Pay So that's ~5 days to get coins, and I've then got a wait of several days for delivery, with possible customs issues and no way to do a chargeback if someone decides to screw me over. That, and making your website more streamlined, is how you'll drive traffic to bitcoin sales. Check out Cigs.eu, they've got a very good implementation. You don't need a user account to check the shipping on an item at all, and the general idea is that our customers will already have bitcoin and will not need to go to an exchange, but that process is the opposite as if you had bitcoin and wanted to convert it to CDN/USD to shop elsewhere.
If you want to check how much shipping is on an item:
- Select "add to cart" on an item(s) - Click "checkout" - Enter your postal or zip code in "delivery information"
Your shipping quote will start processing as soon as that information is present. If you then have to purchase that amount of bitcoins from an exchange, that's another step you have to take.
We can, however, accept other payment methods. We haven't integrated Paypal into the website for a few reasons, primarily we would like to stay as a bitcoin-only store. We have had local customers call us and say they have no idea how to purchase bitcoins but they have cash, they arrange to order the product from us and come down to the shop here and pay for it, but it is very rare and handled on a case-by-case basis. If you have a payment method that you would like to use, call us at 1-204-272-2945 between 9AM and 6PM CST and let us know how we can help you.
