I think you mistook. Almost delivery services has some regulation in damaged or lose a package. If it is not exist, seem nobody is brave to send a items. The problem is any parcels will be executed by the same way. So, if there has a unexpected case (losed or damaged items),  one or several company, their responsibille is not increase too althought payment will be back for a sender. With shipit, a traveler will buy a parcel from a sender and sale it for a customer. Of course, the responsibilily of them  are differents.

This may be solved by communicating with the courier handling your stuff, that would usually solve it. The platform enforces KYC on the couriers so they may be mitigated in the event like this.

Hi there! You can request a traveler to create a deposit equal to the value of your stuff and it serves as a collateral and covers all your damages in case of a loss, theft or damage.

There could issues with communication as a stable Internet connection is required. However, we believe that even at current stage of communications development there are much fewer problems with that.

Anyways, we can't provide everyone with stable Internet connection, that's not the goal of our project. All three, the sender, the traveler and the receiver, will have to rely on predetermined address (especially given that the delivery could be the same-day one) and their mobile carrier or Wi-Fi networks at public places.

My take is that Shipit is a great project that combines some of the best features of the big companies from traveling, logistics and navigation industry into an exemplary shipping prototype. Most project don't require be developed on blockchain, but Shipit is one of them that will make use of the blockchain technology and will implement it properly

Actually, as far as the implementation is concern, the only part of the operations is being blockchained are payments but not all payments as people can pay with fiat. Correct me if im wrong.

It would be far more interesting if they can make the platform run without them overseeing it. Or even the company will cease to exist but the platform will still continue.

The payments and the human interactions will be accounted on the blockchain which will be exactly what will keep this platform alive even without the company as you said. The thing is the platform could run independently after they put up the whole system to work. We need to get traction, i.e. travelers willing to make deliveries and senders willing to send something; this is barely possible without proper marketing effort. Since we want to focus on Asia-Pacific first as we believe this region to be the best target market for our product, the chance that the app will get traction in Europe by itself is very slim.
