Now, I’ll tell you about the best graphic cards for Ethereum mining.

The best graphic cards for Ethereum mining are GeForce GTX1080, GeForce GTX1070, and GeForce GTX1070ti, and Radeon Fury X. The most powerful one among them is considered to be Geforce GTX 1070. Its video memory is 8 Gb. The video memory of Radeon RX 470 and Radeon RX 480 is varied in the range between 4 and 8 Gb. The video memory is varied in the range between 3 and 6 Gb. The graphic card Radeon Fury X has the lowest indicator.

Today, the main bestseller in the ratio the price and efficiency is considered to be the graphic card GTX 1060 with the video memory 6 Gb. On Amazon, you can buy it for $259.00. The hash rate of such card is 22, 5 Mh/s. Also one of the advantages of such video card is a low level of electricity consumption – only 90 W. The efficiency of Ethereum mining on such card is 0, 25 Mh/ W. Such card helps you get a profit $39.04 per month without the electricity cost.

One of the most popular graphic card for Ethereum mining is GTX 1070. Its hash rate is 30 Mh/ s, the level of the electricity consumption is 120 W, and the efficiency of Ethereum mining on such card is 0, 25 Mh/ W. If you decided to mine Ethereum, you should choose the model GTX 1070. This card with the video memory 3 Gb costs $ 323, 74, while the price of the card Geforce GTX1080 reaches $721.89. The hash rate of GTX1080 for Ethereum mining is 23, 3 Mh/ s, but it consumes more than GTX 1070 for 20 W, so it’s not a very good option for Ethereum mining, as you guessed. The card GTX1070 will get you a profit $52.05 per month in spite of the electricity cost. So that, your purchase will pay off in average for a half of year in the same manner as buying GTX 1060 disregarding the electricity cost.

If you mine Ethereum on the card GTX1080, you can earn $40.43 per month. It’s meaning that your purchase will pay off for the one year and a half. So that it’s not a very profitable option for Ethereum mining.

Let’s discuss the card for Ethereum mining GTX 1080 Ti. Its hash rate is 35 Mh/ s, the level of the electricity consumption is 140 W, and the efficiency of the mining is 0, 25 Mh/ w. On Amazon, the cheapest one from this layout costs $867,79. This card is too expensive whereas a high level of the hash rate. This card will get you a profit $60.73 per month and will pay off for 1 year and two months in spite of the electricity cost.

GTX 1060 has a very simple cooling system. It consists of one heat pipe matching Ethereum mining. The video memory is 3072 Mb, the core frequency is 3072 Mhz, the memory frequency is 8008 Mhz.

In order to rectify this card for Ethereum mining, it’s better to put fan rpm for 70 percents, Power Limit for 90 percents, the memory for +900, and the GPU for 175. With such settles, the card will provide the temperature 62 degrees.

i better now you buy
 gtx 1070 + 1070ti + 1080ti

if dag size go up no problem with these cards

and you can buy vega 56 give good hash rate 42MH

I understand you’re a fan of nVidia, but I can buy 2 RX 570s for the same price as 1 1080ti and get 60mhs.  So, which is the better buy with the best return?  Maybe you should put nVidia in the subject line.

For eth mining:
- R9 Series ( 290, 290x, 390, 390x, fury)[1]
- RX Series ( 470, 480, 580 4/8GB)[2]
- Vega
- 1070ti

1. Be careful, these GPUs has a hungry power consumption

2. better 8GB for anticipation if dag file/size up to 4GB

I am also about to try mining but I have no idea which motherboard to buy that would be compatible for these RX series or this GeForce GTX1080.
What motherboard can you suggest?

I think I might be able to set this up using the wind turbine we have at home. I'd like to try at least just one GPU for now until I can see I will profit through it.

I have an NVIDIA mining rig and I'm using H170 Pro Gaming by Asus. You can hook up to 6 GPU's, with a very flexible BIOS. It uses LGA1151 Intel socket, so keep that in mind. When I bought this mobo it cost me $100, but they had a $20 buck mail in rebate.

But for one GPU? I don't know man. Unless you treat it as a fun/hobby project, then ok I guess? As a learning experience. Else, I'd think about buying ethereum instead. my two cents.

1080s can have ~40 MH/s hashrate with ETHlargementpill, on par with P104-100 cards, so it's way better than any 1060/1070. Roll Eyes

actually, as long as the motherboard has PCIe x16 / x1 can be used but almost all miners usually use a minimum of 6xPCie. these are some motherboards if you want to use:
■ Asrock H81 PRO BTC R2.0
■ Asus Prime Z270-A
■ Gigabyte Z170X G5
■ Asus Rog STRIX Z270E Gaming
■ MSI Z170A Gaming M5
■ Biostar TB250-BTC
■ Asrock H110 Pro BTC+

Best Ethereum Mining Hardware:
AMD cards
- AMD RX 470/570
- AMD RX 480/580
- AMD Radeon RX Vega series

Nvidia cards
- GTX 1060
- GTX 1070
- GTX 1080ti

Particularly for Ethereum= AMD Cards wins. you can choose any of three based on price. and calculate the ROI per cost.

While the graphics processor is arguably the most important part in Ethereum mining, your system’s hardware must match a following specification. Here’s what we recommend:
  • For rigs of less than 6 GPUs, a 4GB ram is required. For more than that I recommend getting an 8GB ram stick.
  • A motherboard with enough PCIe inputs, this is a crucial thing to look for in your motherboard. If you are building a multiple GPU rig your motherboard needs to have enough PCIe inputs to hold them.
  • A Powered riser cable for each card.
  • An open-air rig for multiple GPUs.
  • A reliable power supply. The capacity needs to be calculated based on the GPUs you choose, we’ll follow up on this one later.
  • A reliable internet connection.

man, you did not mention a special tool, which could rise the hashrate for gtx1080 and gtx1080 ti for more then 40mh/s, but sure they will not be the best cards because of this. I agree with fold before, the most card for eth is rx570 8gb

Thanks. That's something to work on. I'd first try the cheapest among these and I'll see whether I can profit mining.
I have read that the GPUs will not last long if used to mining but they never mentioned how long it will be alive? Will GPUs be alive more than 2 years and will I be able to break even by that time too?

What do you call the device to use so you can connect up to more than 2 GPU to the motherboard?

The most powerful one among them is considered to be Geforce GTX 1070.

-snip-

One of the most popular graphic card for Ethereum mining is GTX 1070.

Snipped parts of your comment because i only disagree on the fact that the 1070 is the best for Ethereum mining now. In fact, i disagree completely and don't believe that it is profitable for any algorithm right now. The 1070 is actually going to be the hardest hit GPU when the first batch of Z9 or E3 ASICs arrive. My speculation is that they will become the least profitable (if ever GPUs remain profitable at all).

when I first built a mining rig using the Asrock H81 PRO BTC R2.0 and using  6x GPU (RX series 480 8GB), if I didn't forget I bought around 2017 until now all these GPUs run smoothly in Ethash.

Note:
For ROI depends on the market situation.

What do you call the device to use so you can connect up to more than 2 GPU to the motherboard?
what is meant like this:
The motherboard has a PCIe slot (x16 or x1) This slot connects MB from/to GPU with the help of USB Riser.

Sorry Bud, if I bad when explaining it  Grin

Thanks. I will be able to ask the store personnel about it too. I just want to make sure I have the working devices before venturing to an expensive hardware, so I might start with Asrock H81 PRO BTC R2.0 and maybe RX series that's newer like 580. I'm becoming serious about this mining plan I have than setting up masternodes. Thanks.

I have 2 6x GPU rigs mining ETH, one is 6x1070, the other is 6x570.

My 1070s mine @ 32-33Mh, 570s @ 29Mh (similar power consumption).  Right now 1070s cost around $400, 570s are around $220-250, so the break even time for only ETH mining favors the Rx570s.  Having said that, you should also factor the alternate coins a GPU can mine, for example 1070s mine ZEC pretty well, and 570s mine XMR very well.
