I would argue that it's a moot point.  For you.  Besides, are you talking about "block" and "ban" as the same thing?  It's not clear to me.  By all means, though, please tell your friends that bitcointalk is a waste of their time.  In fact, I wish they would take out TV ads in Indonesia and the Philippines saying as much.
