(Post edited - this is an old post, but I realize no TL;DR. Basically, it's an open source mechanical turk/fiverr clone that uses BTC)

Hello everyone,

I would like to share an idea I had a few weeks ago. I'm sure that it's not original per say, but I think I might have some details that others possibly missed.
The idea is for a simple bitcoin market website to facilitate purchase of goods and services via bitcoin (not a market

Please take a look at this: https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B-4jU8zZGkl6Mjk3ZjlmMGMtOTE3Ni00ODE4LWE0YmMtMzhlNzZhMDBhNDMw&hl=en

I include a few mockups, and a product spec document.
I originally thought I'd push this as a private project, but I recently started a new job and won't have enough time in the following months to do this alone. If anyone wishes to team up on this and work on it with me, I think we can actually make this happen.

If you want to discuss in private, email me at ron.gross@gmail.com.
The project can be undertaken as either completely open source, or propriety and closed sourced.

Waiting for comments,
Ron

This is a great idea. Mechanical Turk with bitcoin pay outs would make global commerce accessible to a far greater number of people.

Thanks, the project is under way, although at a very slow pace because of my day job Smiley
It is also open source, so if anyone wants to contribute/fork it, let me know.

Just found this topic.  Anything happening?

Are there any patent issues?  That is, does Amazon or someone else have patents on the Mechanical Turk idea?

The last edits were made to the google docs in March, so I think this one is probably dead or on hold.

Coinworker.com has been working for quite a long time succesfully, and pays out pretty well (at least to my knowledge, I don't use it myself).

This never got off the ground.
CoinWorker isn't really similar to what I had in mind though.

please explain the difference of what you are proposing (vs. coinworker) and why I should use it rather than coinworker...

Read the specs I linked to.
CoinWorker is for limited, very specific tasks.
I'm thinking of a buyer-oriented site, where individuals could create tasks suited for them (different skill levels / tags / price ranges).

fiverr/mech turk don't fit this bill:

fiverr - focus on task sellers (will do X for $5), focus on tasks in with specific price tag. Huge commission btw (20%!)
mech turk - focus on presenting one task to a lot of people (I need 100 people to review this png and look for irregularities).
