Airdrops helps your project to be promoted by a lot of persons in tens of thousands. Your project gets everywhere but with poor information on what it stands for.
Bounties are better there’s higher quality of campaign, few persons.
I think the both should work. You start with these two.  Each would compensate the other.

All bounties are good, all campaigns are good, which one is better should depend from focus group. Advertising is the essence of any business, spending money on that is never thrown money. Advertising should be constant, creative, it's how project build community.
More methods you use better advertising campaign will be, but that will cost money. Think about how much money you have first, than make advertising for that money, when you are low on money you need to be very creative.
