Hello @everyone,

After much testing, it is my pleasure to announce that we're ready for the 3.4 upgrade.

I expect that many of you will have questions about the upgrade. If I miss something, please feel free to reach out to me with your questions so I can do my best to answer them.

As for the upgrade, here's some information you need to know.

First, we will be forking the chain. The fork is scheduled to occur at block 1101600. All services will put their wallets into maintenance mode before this block. Anyone wishing to join the forked chain will need to upgrade their wallets to 3.4. Do not accept payments as valid on and after this block on the old chain. If you do, when you upgrade, you will find that you do not have that coin since it was sent to you after the fork.

Second, there will be no risk to coin already on the chain prior to block 1101600. At no time will any measures be taken to affect current holdings. If you are staking, you'll stake in exactly the same way after the wallet upgrade. If you are running a masternode, you will need to restart your node after the wallet upgrade.

Third, the forked chain will be private for about a week. The reasons are technical, but singularly focused on ensuring the forked chain is stable before taking on the load of the public network. I'm expecting that the forked chain will become publicly available around block 1111680. Because the forked chain will be private, you will not see a new bootstrap, wallet, or GitHub finalizing commits until a few days before the public release of the forked chain.

Lastly, a word of caution, at times like this, scammers love to impersonate people and steal coins. Please be vigilant and guard against anyone asking you to move coin for them or to execute console commands on their behalf. Always, always, always - check Discord ID's to verify the person you are talking to is really that person.

We aim to deliver v1.0 by Q2 2021 if everything goes well development-wise.

We are proud to announce that Youssef Elallali a Smart Contract developer specialist has officially joined the team, he worked as CTO on a number of B2B token networks and has shown interest in the project both as an early adopter but also as an advisor before now joining the team and contributing to the project as the Main Smart Contract Lead.

We can now focus on producing the Stipend Token Bridge & start working on the Stipend Enterprise Edition Smart Contract Layer Tools afterward.

We are happy to announce that the VueJS & NodeJS positions have been filled by a full-time developer kicking the dev of the V1.0 and what comes next to be delivered faster, it's something we as a community struggled a lot with, @david987 was helping in his free time but between work and family, there isn't much time he could put towards the project but his inputs were always very valuable, we take this opportunity to thank him and hope he can still find time to contribute to the project!

The dev is VueJS oriented and so far the introduction was very smooth.

Stipend Core version 3.4.0.2 is now available from: https://github.com/Stipend-Developer/stipend-core/releases

This is not a mandatory upgrade.

This release adds an additional checkpoint for chain verification, as well as updates the DNS Seed to use stipend.me operated cores and the depend subsystem to use a working Qt 5.9.7 repository source. If you wish to build v3.4.0.1, you will need to consult /depends/packages/qt.mk and apply the same change to that release as v3.4.0.2.
