I've downloaded blackcoin wallet from off website. And it's syncing but rather too long to wait. Are there any ways to keep blk safe at cold wallet? Just too long to wait till fully sync.

original qt client validates whole chain even if the chain has been bootstrapped.
there is also another client a fork of multibitHD, which used to be the fastest way to sync. and can stake too.

and web wallet fork of Copay which uses HD addresses and device based security(no private keys on the server/cloud)
Ok, ty. I'll try multiblack client.

Janko's link to the web wallet should have gone to https://payblk.blackcoin.io/

The above web wallet will supply you with a deterministic passphrase (words) you can literally write down to keep as a cold wallet and are restorable in the web wallet instantly. I've found it so easy. Multiblk has the same functionality to sync quickly but also can stake. Don't worry about the wallet being inside a webpage, all the crypto stuff is done on the front end, your keys are never sent across the wire.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

It's got something to do with blackcoin. They added zcash protocol to make it fully anonymous and added all kinds of features

Can somebody help me, please: is the code for generating Genesis block from Peershares suitable for BlackCoin? I'm stuck with the error:
Code:
ERROR: CheckProofOfWork() : hash doesn't match nBits
ERROR: CheckBlock() : proof of work failed

yes, this has been already started, but was discontinued
It would be very very good if you could continue

Don't use it! It's one year old..
but it can help you to change current Peershares
https://nm.reddit.com/r/blackcoin/comments/2qwesr/blackshares_the_peershare_concept_for_blackcoin/

It also  includes a voting mechanism and a method to payout profits
Each business has their own blockchain that is independent of all others.

please also come and say hi to blk slack in dev section

Good day!

I want to ask, and BlackCoin cryptocurrency reliable? Is it worth it to produce and what the prospects for coins? \

How long will the coin will live?

P.s. I downloaded the purse and was in a folder 2 files. The question is, why do we need a file blackcoin-qt.exe.asc? It can be removed?

I hope forever ;P rat4's last commit was on Sep 24, 2016.
asc is a signature for the first file. It has to be there so you can validate that the file wasn't tempered when you downloaded it.

You don't even need to download anything now you can use blk: here https://payblk.blackcoin.io/ but it cannot stake.

If you've downloaded it is very good, you can stake and support the network.
you have to download the bootstrap too.

Here are the detailed instructions to synchronize with network
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1378653.msg15441053#msg15441053
it takes around 24 hours to synchronize

staking can be 1-4% depending on how long do you stake, coinage doesn't count, you have to actively stake

there is also this road-map which is now in second stage now, moving to third
https://www.reddit.com/r/blackcoin/comments/59n6ip/333_blk_giveaway/d99wasg/

part of this road-map is to encourage other developers to create more teams around blackcoin.
Can you help? Everybody is invited!

We need to be up again, some movement.

I had an idea that network needs more adoption in clients
see here
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/blk/#!network

/Satoshi:1.2.2/       60018   111   64.5 %   64.5 %
/Satoshi:1.2.1/                       60017   35   20.3 %   84.9 %

/Satoshi:1.2.0/       60016   24   14.0 %   98.8 % (old client fading..)
/Satoshi:0.11.2b/  70002   1   0.6 %           99.4 %
/Satoshi:0.11.2/                       70002   1   0.6 %         100.0 %

So far there is only 1.2.2 and 1.2.1, there is also 0.11.2 but this has very little adoption,
much more is needed to keep network secure.

The client needs to be attractive to other users, it needs to have something everybody needs.
Many people fork blackcoin clients, modify it and use it for their coin.
I am working on a client where you don't have to fork, so you don't have operating costs,
less costs to create the infrastructure.. You issue your coin.. and sell it buy it.. whatever..

You just use blackcoin client and issue your assets/coin on BLK network,
use it's infrastructure, confirmation time. Implementation shouldn't be hard,
I mean I have all needed libraries, knowledge, info, only time is needed.. ;P

So in the end there should be 1.2.2 client, 0.11.2 client and 0.12.1 client
(You know a table needs 3 legs to be able to stand.. ideally all 3 clients have competing teams..)

What do you think?

Dumping hard cause BTC is rising. This is also a very good shakeout of weak hands.

https://twitter.com/ObsidianCVT/status/799373295384690689
look closely, and you will see what future holds
I heard Christmas is coming, but it looks like with Obsidian's help,
we'll get our presents early ;P

The most other interesting thing are the links on the top of that webpage

for example this one:
https://obsidiancvt.com/playground

with this, Obsidian offers you a opportunity
to start playing with BLK now..
no blockchain or wallet download

just connect and play

and live services, to which you can connect and use:

blackcore-wallet-service https://node.blackcoin.io/bws
insight-api https://node.blackcoin.io/insight-api

so donate for the challenge prices
or PROMOTION Smiley (I'll start with 100 BLK):
BAHdJKoixNAdGrYLRuxqYKsZxMM4vgjWif
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/blk/address.dws?BAHdJKoixNAdGrYLRuxqYKsZxMM4vgjWif.htm

here is an app which shows some great
possible use-cases of Obsidian's new responsive services
https://nm.reddit.com/r/blackcoin/comments/58nn0h/there_aint_no_blackcoins_on_the_server_cause_the/

EDIT: I changed the purpose of the donations
because sudden opportunity showed up Cheesy

Slightly mystified how that's any advantage over just staking yourself, is this for people who are not able to stay online maybe    ?   I'll buy some BLK and test it out I guess, since thats really no big deal at present

Bitcoin rising always makes the price appear weak, it would be less exaggerated if adjusting the graph for the current price of bitcoin itself.  Just literally graph BLK in USD or whatever your local currency is, if I see this type of graph I'll post it up, I want to see BLK valued in gold grams :p
