Rat4, are you okay? I hope you can appear here, the Chinese blackcoin community a lot of people want to know your message.

I am preparing to make a video of the marketing blackcoin, can I use your photos? and your information?

How is Chinese bagholders going? People screwed by the fake pump in mintpal, many bagholders hurt and left crypto world. R.I.P BLK.

For a long time, China did not have any blackcoin in the news, nor any marketing.
No one initiative to promote the blackcoin.

Now I am marketing the blackcoin on the Chinese network.

China has 700 million Internet users, But very few people know digital currency , and very few people know the blackcoin.

My marketing is very effective. QQ group is now very active.

There will be more and more blackcoin users.Trust me.

When will Blackhalo be finished? I'm also interested to know who are the members of dev team, and maybe Slack Invitation wont harm? I will put all on Black this time, already i can feel small of victory. For so long this was very undervalued coin.  We all together can contribute to this project, positivity is also very helpfull!

BlackHalo has been working for years. It was the worlds first smart contracting software (years before Ethereum) and it was the worlds first decentralized markets. Although people don't use the markets, they certainly work. It is integrated with BitHalo and you can switch coins at the click of a button. There are a few templates left to work on and staking but other than that, the client has been functional for years. It translates to 92 languages, has "pay to email" with steganography and like 100 other little features. Honestly I'm not sure why everyone doesn't use it. It should have replaced localbitcoins due to trustless p2p cash deals since there is no arbiter required (double deposit). It even has a price tracker in the cash for coins template so you don't have to chase market price. It can be used as a decentralized exchange. Just download it and see for yourself. I'm sure some of the guys on slack will walk you through a demo contract. As for devs there is  rat4, myself (3+ years and counting I'm the only dev working on BlackHalo), Janko who I think has also been here since the beginning, and maybe a couple others.

www.blackhalo.info

Hello, dzimbeck, BlackHalo is great. When the blackcoin of the ecosystem strong, people know the existence of BlackHalo, they will use. Now the blackcoin of the ecosystem is still small. Many people just buy or sell blackcoin.

Please believe me, the market potential is very large.

I am marketing blackcoin in china, the situation is improving.

You know BlackHalo translates to Chinese right? It's one of the only clients that even features a chinese version.

And yeah for NightTrader it doesn't have to be BLK exclusive. Obviously the world needs a real decentralized exchange. I've thought about AT and Microtrade as a backup. However one needs to be built before the other.

We shall see, I'm finishing up all the templates as of right now. The next version will have time locks supported in the user interface and voting as well. So I'm going to finish all the features and then see if we can get enough active users.

Back in the day, yeah.  All the next generation ICO's changed the landscape.  They're getting all the limelight and the money.

Anyway, dzimbeck, I'm dropping by here to ask what is different about Blackcoin's POS compared NXT's POS.  I'm thinking of investing in Qtum's ICO (I know, I know, I'll be careful), and I see in their ANN thread that they will be using code based on Bitcoin Core 0.13 and use that to create a POS platform based on Blackcoin's POS 3.0.  Is that even possible?  And what's the big deal with BC's POS 3.0?

Thanks.

Bitcoin Core 0.13 is very new, there's no need to go with bleeding edge. Blackcoin has been already moved to bitcoin core 0.12(is running in production and can bee seen in explorers like this one https://chainz.cryptoid.info/blk/#!network .

There is no risk here, more stability and you won't miss anything they have in 0.13 too.
Core will backport everything to 0.12 (they have been already doing it.. https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/commit/c1b7421781b7a53485c6db4a6005a80e32267c9f )

BC POS 3.0 has to be done correctly, coins that claim to implement it, have done their version of POS 3.0 not the BC one, deviations can be easily seen in their code..

..by the way.. where's the Qtum source? The link they provided doesn't work.

;P payblk is using 0.12.1 client(https://payblk.blackcoin.io) for example.  It is unsustainable to use 0.13 client, currently around  44 C++ developers alone have participated,
who created 1683 commits, done with POW in mind, impossible to review all their impact on POS.

... I looked at the article about why qtum went to 0.13 base and it doesn't make any sense whatsoever,
http://www.bikaifa.com/qtum-blockchain-ported-pos-3-0-to-bitcoin-core-0-13

valid headers blockchain is in 0.12 too,
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/0.12/src/rpcblockchain.cpp#L736

1. invalid               This branch contains at least one invalid block
2. headers-only      Not all blocks for this branch are available, but the headers are valid
3. valid-headers     All blocks are available for this branch, but they were never fully validated
4. valid-fork           This branch is not part of the active chain, but is fully validated
5 active                 This is the tip of the active main chain, which is certainly valid

It cannot be used for synchronizing, you can easily end on a fork.
Bitcoin had a scripting language similiar to eth in his early days too, which was exploited and was removed
and Qtum is bringing it back? Oh my..DAO

Forking code is not enough, Bitcoin is full of magic numbers, you have to fork community and all the networks characteristics to have it work properly
and there is no need for that

Kiklo's Premium Blockchain Snapshot Service

You will need a program that can uncompress rar files to access the files.
example:  http://rarlabs.com/download.htm
Tech Tips: Always scan a download for Viruses before installing , one such service is https://www.virustotal.com .

Our Blockchain Snapshots can be installed on a New or Already Working Wallet.
SnapShots will install much Faster than the BootStraps.

I don't think that more exchanges can bring better price for Blackcoin needs good PR tactic and Chinese investors. This can be done with forming team who is willing to create and translate (maybe for bounties) articles on multiple languages. People don't even know for Blackhalo. My case.

Thanks.

Hi so the big difference is removing of all coinage and making the stake reward constant instead of based on coinage. This forces people to stay connected. Also there was several security fixes. I wrote a short paper on it but never published it.

Lastly, POS 3 allows for custom staking by putting the data in 6a. So it allows multisignature staking which is used for Halos coldstake. Also this makes it easy to add voting which will be in my next update.

Blackcoin is one of the most forked coins. However the people who do it will still have to code something useful out of it and most projects never move beyond the ANN

Big big big chance to blackhalo and blackcoin?

Blackhalo has the "cash for coins" template. This is perfect for the Chinese! The initial inspiration for double deposit was to help the Chinese get money in and out of Bitcoin without any risk and no arbiters and no fees.

Good timing but do they know it exists?

This is perfect solution for this situation in China, but why this is not priority of PR team? This is good opportunity for BLACKCOIN now use it wisely. Look how Monero stayed calmed. Because they know what they have and they will rise for sure.
