Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Until GreekPool starts paying out coins, I'm advising everyone to hash elsewhere.

The unusually long confirmation time for BlackCoin may be playing into the hands of a scam.

Once they start to pay out, people can just as easily move back.

So what's the consensus?

Is this a good to mine?

If it's anything like MINT it should be a good coin. So when will the POW portion of this coin cease?

Most promising launch since Mintcoin IMO! No premine with a truly fair launch, we werent even past block 100 by the time the net hash jumped. That means everyone was able to get in fairly and quickly, no instamine, no  bullshit. Combine that with a interesting and smart long-term PoS distribution of only 1%....this coin could get big, quickly.

I hope so I just bought 2BTC worth at 250 satoshi  Grin

Where'd you buy that volume worth this early? There's someone selling that much?

Edit: I just did the math, did someone seriously just sell you 10% of all the coins that have been mined so far for only 250 sats?

Pity the Pool!  BlackCoin (BC) Pool

- Solid servers, UPS/generator backups
- Redundant internet
- 1.5% fee
- Dedicated equipment - we own the hardware, we own the data center

P2P Pool, 0.5% fee!
High-speed server located in Amsterdam

http://188.226.185.177:8336/static/ for the web interface.
Use "minerd -o http://188.226.185.177:8336 -u <BCAddress> -p password" to connect!
Added stratum protocol to reduce orphans even further! To switch to the stratum enabled port just change "-o http://188.226.185.177:8336" to "-o stratum+tcp://188.226.185.177:6338".

As always; to connect point your miners to stratum+tcp://188.226.185.177:6338 or http://188.226.185.177:8336 with your username being your BCAddress(you find it in the QT client) and anything as password!

He got lucky i'm guessing. I'm having a pricepoint of 1250 satoshi's -atleast- in my mind.

Honestly, with that much hash power you should definitely use a P2Pool. You won't see the money roll in as fast as you do with a normal pool, but you will on average earn more on a P2Pool compared to a traditional one.

You'll also see the mining income in your wallet as soon as a block is found, you don't have to wait for the pool owner to pay it out... That and you don't have to pay over 1% fee.

spoke to greekpool at irc, they trying to fix the issue, im gona trust them and keep my miners pointed. too invested at this point to move them.

Also to the other poster, 1250 satoshi is a fair price but istill think it will be worth more in a weeks time.
