Long story short > I reported the ULTRIX COIN PLATFORM for using bumping bots.

I have a database with more then 2000 accounts to review thanks to LoyceV. I have reported just a small fraction of them.

Today I checked again and I saw that the thread is locked and everything is fine, until I opened the ULTRIXcoin profile which is in charge in maintaining the ANN thread.

Yestarday he started a new thread > ULTRIX COIN PLATFORM (Pre-ICO/ICO) and continue using the same technique - bumping bots.
From yesterday 2 PM till today the new ANN thread got more than 200 comments with basically a bump every 5-7 min.

What we do? They simply don't care about the rules, but that's not a breaking news for sure. I'll need a week to report all those previous 2000 accounts and in addition for 1 day there are probably more than 200 new accounts now. I'm not capable to report with the same pace as they pop-up and spam even if I do it as a full-time regular job. I only share an hour or two per day.

If you ban the account they will create a new one and post another ANN again, I'm sure. We are playing cat and mouse here.

Is there anyone interested to work together on those cases? Manually review the accounts and report them. Lets build a voluntarily team to bang those bastards. If we  don't joint forces together as a community I don't think we have a chance against the automation.

I think I'll open a thread to gather all the volunteers together and start working as a team.

I've heard reinforcements are arriving. I think if we could just actively encourage users from all different types of timezones to report it as soon as they see it we can maybe combat the problem a lot more than it is already. Some bump bots have been beaten in certain threads, and there is progress happening.

I have already reported them all, you can read more here. I think the whole thread should be trashed if they are fake, scam ICO as in using bots for all of their threads. of course we know that scam is not moderated but these kind of activity should be stopped.

They're not the only ones doing this. I think Mods are too soft on ICO spammers who earn big money from abusing this forum.

I've suggested before to charge money (say $100) to create such a thread, to discourage spammers risking their thread getting nuked, but that has some drawbacks too.

I think I'll open a thread to gather all the volunteers together and start working as a team.

I really want to be as optimistic as you are, but cases like the one above are more and more. /Almost/ everyone is here for the bounties, for the money, lambos and "fake" dreams. I'm here just because I want to be a part of it and I enjoy talking to different people. Til now I met just a few reporting. You have an outstanding report history with more then 20k successful reports, but I don't think many are like you. LoyceV is also active in this field and doing great job. I guess there are others too but not so many. How to push the masses to report as a huge part of them are the spammers? If there are no rewards only a tiny fraction will volunteer for such job, as the other side gets paid to do the mess.
I think we should do something together as users, as group, as community. And I think this should have been done quite some time ago, before some of the other valuable members left the ship.
Most of the people here are like politicians a lot of talking but not so much actions. This has to change. I think it was different back in the day but I'm rather new here I don't really know.

Yeah, I agree its a fairly optimistic approach, but I know from personal experience that we've combated a few projects using malicious ways to spam their threads, and we've come up on top. Now, the only thing that we haven't been able to do is continue this thread wide, and do it to every announcement thread.  

I'm not sure how we are suppose to get more people to report. I've made a resource as you know which I hope has helped, but probably hasn't. I'll continue to encourage users to report, and I guess that's all we can do. I don't know how rare it is for someone to just sit down, and dedicate their time to reporting without any benefit, but I'm sure there's a few others that would be willing to do this. They might not be part of the forum right now, but join at a later date. This is exactly why I will continue to encourage it.

This has to change. I think it was different back in the day but I'm rather new here I don't really know.

I don't think there's a awful lot that has changed. I just think it's a little more exaggerated now that there's a lot more users on the forum.

@Welsh, you are right. But lets fight this war together as we gonna be more efficient as a team. We need some coordinated actions and tactics and skip the reporting the same case by more then 1 member.
I know many people don't have the time for it, I don't either as I'm working full time and use some gaps for free time to write and post. It's not gonna be easy for sure.

I have the same addiction and I do the same mistake every day and I'm quite behind with some of the projects too. Have to renovate the house and I don't see this happening any time soon but the wife is pressing a lot so it's quite busy times. I'm hoping to be better sometime soon, because I have many plans on building some nodes. 90% of the time spent here it's on my phone, and posting is quite difficult but reporting is easy.
