Really appreciate your effort to let everyone know of the possible danger of falling prey to any of these multiple scams that are surfing throughout the web.

Thanks for letting us know. I haven’t received this type of email yet. Online scams are increasing nowadays. It is really irritating. The online world is really promising and these scams are making it polluted.

This is not the first times that hackers want bitcoins. They think that bitcoin will change their future as if it is too easy to survive in this crypto world. Without passion it is really hard to survive.

Thanks for sharing that I think one of the greatest roles of our community is to share those things and by doing that we can help each other to stay in work carefully and sober facing another scam attempt.

Hi,

I recently fell victim of a scam attempt and I thought I would let you all guys know. It is very well social-engineered, seems very credible and it really makes you think that maybe your computer was compromised and keylogged.

Basically they claim to have a keylogger installed on your system, to have hijacked the camera and have been able to hijack your screen - all while you - the victim - has been browsing porn sites.

Then I found a link on the internet and it seems that I was just one of many attempted victims:
https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/6txdm2/the_best_scam_email_ive_ever_seen/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams/comments/6v2ji9/a_little_blackmail_email_in_my_inbox_this_morning/

The attacker wants some money (ranging from 300 to 350 USD in Bitcoin) sent to some Bitcoin addresses they provide.

Hope you are all well and didn't fall victims!

Like most of the other industries, now the scammers are attempting to exploit the crypto-market through this kind of fraudulent activities. people who access the vulnerable website must take precautions to get themselves protected by knowing the impact of these threats. Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience.

Thanks for sharing the information on time. I did not receive this kind of mail but there are so many other well packaged means of scam. We just have to be careful. They have access to people's contacts easily and can attempt to scam you based on any trending development which you subscribed to.

I never face that situation and never got that kind of email. I hope that I don't get the email and face that situation. Nowadays, some people are trying to get our money. So we should be more careful when using and click something which comes from the internet.

This comes in regularly especially the one posing to come from hydro verification. As much as the bitcoin markets is real and price is increasing now, a lot of fraudulent means will alos be cropping up to steal away peoples bitcoin. Thank you for the awareness here and hope those who need it will be here to learn too.

I think we need to be more careful, due to the high demand and popularity bitcoin is used by others foe scamming so we need to learn more about bitcoin and the way on how to used it to avoid being victimized by some other who didn't work in a fair way. We all know that there are so many people around that is really becoming greedy and doing such bad thing for themself.

I fell like this is the fault of the users as much as the hacker, the hacker for scamming people and the user for not knowing exactly what to do, I feel like the average user who uses computer everyday for various things, should be able to know better than falling to these easy tricks that hackers use these days, if you really know what you are doing and you don't click suspicious sites you will never fall to these tricks, and you can even go the extra mile and learn how these kind of hacking works, because it takes a hacker to beat one.

Don't fall for those phishing links that will be sent to you via email or even in DM because for me, the opportunity will not get close to you because you are the one who will get close to the opportunities out there and if there is someone that is sending email to you and you got interested then try to do some research first to clarify things out if it is real or not.

Great to have you sharing here those things, I like myself that I don't have big amount of money on my wallet to get hacked or scam that way, recently one guy wanted to steal 0.3 ETH from me, but I cant afford that because of withdrawals, lol.
