Am pretty much sure there other companies affected by cryptocurrencies that are giving out handouts to him like Allied did and seeing this company does have a bad patch to its name the Congressman can return the donations received to save his ego and maybe save his political image, otherwise crypto is not stopping for anyone.

Basically, this man to got paid by a credit card processor company (the biggest donation he's had) in order to trash Bitcoin because they know that if Bitcoin keeps gaining terrain it would displace their business. Of course and once again, nothing to do with them trying to protect idiots whom "will get burned by bitcoin".

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/bitcoin-crock-politician-received-biggest-180229189.html?guccounter=1

The man is paid and that reason is enough to leave him a scary lawsuit if one can emphasize the bribery that had happen. This allegation will not probably approved since it also rely on some way or another in crypto's actually this needs a vast amount of manpower to execute this properly.

Forget this old man. There is nothing he can do. His paymasters will only be left in disappointment because he won't be able to achieve anything. The forces behind Bitcoin are far greater than him.
Exactly his words mean nothing its empty talk. everyone who needs to know about bitcoin will do their own studies and find out the truth.

Well, congressmen are actually in a seat of power. They have authority and influence so what they say and do actually affects a lot, especially the public. If he gives a public statement saying how bad bitcoin is then this could generate bad publicity esp for those who are gullible. Funny how congressmen are actually supposed to represent the people yet bozos like this choose to accept bribe money and be used as a puppet. Such a shame.

That's right! It's such a shame. Another negative issue for bitcoin , for the cryptocurrecy market. All we can do is keep believing in bitcoin and have faith. Just ignoring those negative issue's.

THIS GUY.
Just red about him, i was disgusted that this is going on. Just plain stupid statements about cryptos, i hope that this wont have an impact to people who matter when they will have to decide on crypto related proposals in government.
I made a immediate association with the ass-holes who are spreading the bull shit about climate change in similar fashion. Excuse my french.

It reminds me of that case that I read about couple weeks back. In short, he Polish government paid youtubers to create an anti-crypto campaign in the media. It was a decent sum, more than 25k USD.
This is just another case of of companies having politicians in their pockets. It's good that corruption got exposed once again, but bad that he's not going to have to pay for this in any way. A politician that is lobbying for a business should be stripped of rank, covered in tar and feathers and kicked out of congress.

That was a couple of months ago if im not mistaken. Several youtubers were paid in some sort of FUD campaign, pretty revealing of how governments are trying to shift the popular opinion to be anti crypto.

I believe in other countries there other similar campaigns using social media influencers to do the same thing. Youtube is definitely a big weapon these days, so are twitter and other big virtual megaphones, governments will not hesitate to pay them to spread their agenda.

Then again, this is not new and im not surprised. The private sector pays influencers to do this too, the government is no different, except it's being done with our tax money.

No matter how reputable a man is but when money is already involve then anyone can easily neglect his pride and would follow on what have been said. Its not really a surprising thing yet these kind of people do always exist as long theres a money involve and usually these corporations would always target out big personalities or people who do have high reputation for them to make some effect when they do negative things to bitcoin or crypto but still they are just wasting up their money because no matter how hard they would say trash to bitcoin it wont really affect at all.

He will not succeed. He will fail woefully in his quest to bring down Bitcoin. Does he thinks being a member of the US Congress gives him any form of special privilege? He cannot do anything to Bitcoin. He is nothing but a corrupt entity for accepting bribe. If he actually collected the bribe, then he is not worthy of being a member of the much respected US Congress.

Now many financial institutions are so afraid of the power of bitcoin so they are trying by fair and foul means to kick against this revolutionary technology. But we cannot do anything now but the results themselves will talk for the industry. Congressmen cannot stop cryptocurrency.

And I love the backlash that tweeters gave him. He can't just wake up one day to go and do that. He was definitely paid to do so. Well, they should note that no matter the naysays, our Bitcoins are still with us.

I don’t think that the increasing trade of bitcoin and its expansion all over the world could be threat to any of the existing business. Bitcoin is also a great opportunity for millions of people around and it is also giving jobs and employment to millions of people and even helped a lot in reducing the poverty and after the introduction of bitcoin, many jobs opportunities has been opened globally so I don’t think that the expansion of bitcoin could be threat of existing business.

The emergence of electronic money has affected many other businesses. Maybe people will no longer be interested in business, trade and instead enter the market more. This is what the business owners are afraid of when this event occurs. But I think only part of the community they want to participate in e-finance. But the business can not change because the demand for life is still ongoing.

People can be easily affected by rumors in the internet since most of people want to have them all will do this kind of tactics to say something bad to make Bitcoin rating low so they can have them... You must read also in between what is happening around...

That's termed as lobbying and it's common in US.Any company which wants to influence the government's policies to suit their interests would fund some assembly members to speak in their favour in the parliament.

Frankly speaking, I suppose that this congressman probably might be greased in order to say lie or to promote somebody's intentions. His speech might be as a clunk to heads of newbies because they usually trust the similar announcements but experienced investors should not be mislead by the similar news. I have not detected any sensible reasons to ban crypto coins and mining. I consider that journalists should keep in view this congressman to investigate his real intentions about crypto technologies.

Dude, don't bother about these fuckers. The fact that they get paid for this sort of shit, which is saddening.

But remember that the US congressmen have admitted that they are afraid of bitcoin and they think it might take over bitcoin.  Roll Eyes They'll come around and get what they deserve.

Money laundering is a crime, and check the congressman's "donation" page: https://www.opensecrets.org/members-of-congress/summary?cid=N00006897

Extremely corrupt leaders and head of government business may fret because of the power of blockchain. bitcoin is here to stay and make all transactions as transparent as possible through the decentralization of the various nodes involved in bitcoins blockchain. There is no stopping bitcoin now.
