I just read in the GTM discord that the team have been working on a new platform and that they are almost ready to launch very soon, they are just doing some final touch ups with texts and translation. I'm interested to see what it will be as we all know that the team need something to move this project forward into the future.

Great news for Gentarium enthusiasts, but at least I don't like the kind of silence in the ann thread. For old investors, Gentarium enthusiasts, it is likely not a matter, but silence and inactivity in ann thread will hinder new investors because they don't see reason to invest in a project that has been inactive in ANN thread for too long. Just my two cents. I don't think guests in the thread with first impression about it, will join Discord group to find out more.
In Gentarium, I believe that they can become huge again.

Definitely interested in what they have to offer with the new platform release. I don’t know think the current platform is sustainable right now. It will need to be something new and original to move the price at all.

The masternode hosting market has become too overcrowded. There are competitors that have clearly surpassed GTM in their current business model.

In my opinion, only big projects should leave the forum, when their projects have already big and strong enough to communicate with their communities outside the forum. There are some projects, that have their own forums, like Ethereum, Monero, DASH, and their developers left the forum, their team actively communitcate in their own-built forums.

For small projects (sorry for this word), like Gentarium, developer team should actively communicate and update fundamental things in Announcement thread.

You have a point mate and I do agree that the GTM team or someone from the team post regular updates in here. I know that a lot of people still use this forum to get their information about a project so it is still a vital tool to use. How do you scam someone with cold hosting? The only possible loss between hosting platforms is the possibility of waiting for the initial rewards if you are forced to change platforms if one shuts down.

If it's cheaper to host the GTM masternode elsewhere what exactly is the point of the coin and where will it get it's future value?

That is what the team are working on, a new platform of some sorts that will most likely have a use case for GTM coins. The market is in a bad way right now so its not just GTM feeling the pinch. I just hope that this new platform will help GTM price recover in the near future.

I have seen quite a few of these type of lending setups come and go over the years so I will be interested in hearing about how this works out for this project. Yes it will be interesting to see how they will succeed in the long term as like you said many similar projects have gone now and only a few have survived, one of them being BTCPop so it can be done if done right which I believe this team can do.
