I’m quite vocal about Bitcoin and being active on most hw enthusiast’s/review/re-seller’s forums – pretty sure I’ve made a number of people realise their otherwise idle/unused CPU/GPUs to make occasional £££s by mining. (i explain in detail and guide to best practices)

Now, all considering, most (read 90+%) of them are going to sell their Bitcoins as soon as they are accumulated.

So, am i by promoting b£ it bringing its value down?

Do most of us do this?

It's fine, if people will find bitcoin useful will buy them and the price will rise, no matter what you do

Just keep spread the word

If you don't mine, someone else will.  I wouldn't worry about the impact of mining.

The vast majority of mining is at break even point.  I mine on this pool and I have found that my 167 Mhash/s card is barely balancing my cost of electricity.  My electicity rate is only $0.08 per KWH.  It is one of the lower rates in the country (US).  So just mining bitcoin wasn't really paying off, but now that there is namecoin to be earned it is a little better.

Nah that's just what you should do, just let people know about it and eventually it will be worth whatever it should be worth.
