I don't think they will regret and I will not blame those countries where crypto is banned. Cryptocurrency has no tax fee, that is not helpful for a developing country. If you a government then you have to think many sides of any new inventions. Cryptocurrency is an anonymous transactions system, no tax fee needed, the government can't control it, sometimes it will be very high to the sky, sometimes it will be the cause of people's death. So, I don't think they are wrong, in the developing country, cryptocurrency still not welcome.

I totally agree with your point of view. What you say will be soon because no one can falsely impede the development of Cryptocurrency. It is growing, and the most obvious is the value of copper bitcoin in the past eight years. First, digital currency is not the same as cryptocurrency. Fiat money are becoming more and more digital with every year, as governments and banks pushing their "cashless society", which is a huge step back from cash in terms of privacy and freedom.

Next, just because Bitcoin and some other coins that are truly decentralized can't be stopped, it doesn't mean that they will be adopted by everyone. People really like convenience and simplicity and very few bother with privacy and freedom.

While you are correct that what the society accepts as money is money, at the same time we need to ask why is this? And there is a series of characteristics that makes an effective form of money and as you may guess bitcoin has all of those characteristics, and it even has some characteristics that not even gold or fiat have at all, so eventually bitcoin will be chosen by many people around the world as their favorite form of money.

 I dont regret investing in Bitcoin. Remember, no one can predict anything and if that was the case most of us would have been millionaires or billionaires.
 You have to see everything as an opportunity. At this time investing in slightly less known Cryptos like IOTA, Ripple, Golem makes more sense as they are priced at sweet spots. If you have some money which you are willing to lose, you can invest in these three. I think it is a strange reason to have deep regret. We could deeply regret not betting on Trump for President (the odds were very good during the primaries) or we could deeply regret not betting on any number of underdog sports teams who went on to win.

Life is too short for such regrets, hopefully we will focus on the future.
