I continue to clean up several member's spam history. The problem is that afterwards, only their (relatively) acceptable posts are the ones that last in their posting history. This makes them look like pretty non-spamming members - ironically, in spite of our efforts... It felt like I was actually helping them, instead of giving them a hard time.

I know theymos was considering badges for spam-reporting members. Might be interesting to consider some way of punishment or a badge for people who are reputed spammers (e.g. people of whom at least 50 - or some number - of their posts have been positively marked as spam), since I understand banning is not the most preferred solution.

Could leverage BPIP to find some of the members with > N posts. I currently have a list on my thread with all users who have had at least 10 good reports on them.Considering Bitcoin Discussion would be one of the first things that a new visitor would check out... should we concentrate efforts on that board?

Someone mentioned FinwhaleX? I was looking at their NEW thread and my scam radar got tickled, I took few mins to look for more info and washed ashore to this thread, looks like the uhh had a brief story with bumping accounts, which further strengthen my suspicion, I'll watch them more closely.

Thanks mate. Indeed, I should have stated more clearly what I meant by "double reporting" i.e. reporting something that has already been reported by someone else.

Would be more efficient if there was a system within the SpamBusters Club to avoid double efforts, for instance by dividing threads among the members. Just a friendly suggestion, although I'm quite certain one of the Busters must have found a solution for this already.

If you report a post that already have been reported its more possible that the post getting deleted from Moderators !
More reports on a post is always better and the Moderators see that .
Don't worry about that , just hit the report button if you think its spam or have to be reported.
