I just came across the weirdest thing. In the eMusic ICO telegram community,

there is some sort of a ‘bouncer bot’, blocking U.S. citizens from participating in the discussion.

This is the first time I see this kind of thing.. can anyone explain what is all about?

well if they can't comply with SEC, it might be reasonable for them not to allow US tekegram users to join the group, especially if they're US based project, i would be quite concerned either

I think that this situation is a bit strange but there is nothing surprising because the American government wants to have control over its citizens. To my mind, it is better to block them for the government

I think that the United States is ideally based on the economy through taxes, so their government does not want too many people to take part in the ICO, and by that they want to limit access to it.

The US government at the moment isn't crypto friendly, hence the cease and desist on some ICOs. Furthermore, in other to avoid issues with the SEC, some projects exclude US citizens and a few other countries citizens from participating.

US citizens are already restricted from joining any ICO, why would you want to join a chat discussion of an ICO if you are already cannot participate in it? By the way that is for your own good, I know that US investors still joining most of ICOs even with the warning not to join and then they start to complain when ICO require them to compile with KYC.

US citizens are blocked from participating on various projects due to SEC regulations. This is done only to be compliant with the SEC. Due to legal concerns, this was done.
