And with that epoch change, a flood of users are dumped from Claymore into lolminer.  And a series of "I used to over there", so "how do I over here?"

Unfortunately, I'm in this boat as well.  It took a little while to tweak my AMD RX570's with Claymore and I was getting approx. 32-34.
I am happily surprised that out of the box, lolminer starts up and I'm getting 21.5.  But, like many others, I'd like to get it back to where I was.

So from what I'm gathering in the past few pages.

- we don't have the timing features we did in Claymore.  So clock speeds and rxboost don't exist. But there seemed a little chatter that a new version could include this?
- settings for fanmin (90) and fanmax (100) also don't seem to exist?
- no need for strap?

I have AMD Afterburner installed still. Should I retry this?  I know it was a little crazy doing trial and error originally.  (blew a few breakers).  But is it worth to go back to this and set the clock, fan and power settings the same in this app as I did in Claymore?

JGONZI - "you mentioned if you don't know how ask"  but the idea of modding the BIOS does scare me.  Not sure I want to do that just yet.

But the last thing to mention is; is lolminer reporting a smaller hash?  I do notice on my miner (running Win10 + lolminer 1.16) indicates approx 21.6mh/s.  But then I go over to ethminer.org and it's reporting 27.4mh/s

And it looks like I can update my video drivers from 20.4.1 to 20.11.3.

[Update]
Can't say that Afterburner did anything.  In fact out of two rigs; one is now at 21 and the other says 19?
I set Afterburner (based off my Claymore settings of the same);
PowerLimit = -10
Temp Limit = 90
CoreClock = 1200
MemClock = 2150
Fan Speed = 90
No real change is seen.  It still seems to stay consistent.  Even after rebooting one of them.
Do you have 4Gb Cards or 8 Gb Cards?. If you want to modify BIOS the best Solution is the Polaris Editor to change the Timings of the Memory, also you can use RBE from Igorslab. After that the other solution to add and extra is use the AmdTweak  not the XL the old one you can add the -REF 30 directly in a bat file, and it will be automaticly add an extra 1Mhs for the mining.

I'm running AMD RX570 8GB cards  (12 cards per rig).

I'm planning today, while I continue to work on what to do, is use this AMDTweak that's been referenced byMIner 29 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5123724.0).  At least have that in place while I'm messing around with things.

I'll be honest I get a small panic attack when I think about messing with the BIOS.  If it's legit upgrade to a BIOS I'm usually ok with it. But this, I just need a little background on it before I jump into it.  I mean, it sounds simple enough and not a big deal.  I just want to do some further reading on it before I do it is all. And hopefully have others that corroborate what settings they've used and seen the results.
Are these the correct places?

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Yes these are the correct ones... You also need to know which program will you use for flashing... if you are in HiveOS/RaveOS you can use their system or in Windows the AtiFlash...

The normal steps in resume are:
- Extract BIOS (If you are in Windows you can use GPU-Z in RaveOS/HiveOS you can extract from website)
- With the ROM Bios File apply directly the Polaris-bios-editor - 1 click
- Reflash (Windows with Ati Flasher in Admin Mode and in RaveOS/Hiveos with his uploader).

Decided to try out this miner since DAG #381 no longer worked with phoenixMiner. Was pretty easy to set up however I am wondering if it has some features such as Claymore and Phoenix.

One featured I liked was the -ttli, where it throttles a GPU if it goes over a certain temperature. If it doesn't have this is there a way to reduce the intensity of a GPU?

Another question is why it uses more power than Phoenix/Claymore using the same voltage and clocks? My rig used 700 Watts and now it uses 800 Watts.

Which system are you using?. Because In my test it was 15W less lolMiner than Phoenixminer... It is true I block the core and Memory in boths before loading. So it is the same core and Mem in both situations.

I am using Ubuntu. And I don't set the core/clock/voltage with software. They are hard-coded into the bios. So the core engine clock, memory clock, and the voltage are all identical. But the system is for some reason using too much wattage and one of the GPUs quickly crashes after 5 mins or so.

The speed is almost the same as PhoenixMiner, maybe 0.50MH/s or so slower per GPU but overall the speed is good enough but is there a way to throttle the GPUs so they don't overheat, or at least a way to lower the intensity? Also how do you disable some GPUs in the terminal? Is it possible what about in the config file?

You can add the command  --devices 0,1,2,3... to decide which gpu.

If GPU gets overheat you can specify more fan.
I send for examplr card0 to 80%.

echo 1 > /sys/class/drm/card0/device/hwmon/hwmon?/pwm1_enable
echo 200 > /sys/class/drm/card0/device/hwmon/hwmon?/pwm1

You only need to change card0 to card1 or card2 ... for the other cards and 200 to 255 for 100%.

I hope that helps, because if it gets overheat you need more fan or reduce cores Voltage.  Can you add a screenshot?.

is this miner faster than Claymor or phoenix for nvidia 1070  ?

Claymore and Phoenix are know to "inflate" their hashrate. Also with Claymore you will not be able to mine very soon ETH, and now you are not able to mine ETC for example.

At the end you should try to see Shares at the pool... you are payed for Shares at the pool always. With Phoenix is true that you will see a higher hashrate at the client, but this is not the real hashrate. You should check the shares you send to the pool. When you make this test, you will see that the shares are lower with PhoenixMiner. Why?.

1- Highrate is nearly 3 inflated with Phoenixminer
2- DevFee, with Phoeneix you are loosing lot more time in the DevFee, because he generated another time the DAG. In a 1070 that is nearly 10s, each time he makes the Fee + Fee + Regenerate new DAG to continue mining.

At the end this is a high time less mining. So Shares at the pool are lower at the end with Claymore or PhoenixMiner

i tried phoenix for eth mining and i didn't see another dag generation when devfee starts, dag was generated only one time at miner's start. Will try to check your info about shares, thanks

What is devfee percent in lolminer? i can't find any info about how high is devfee ?

0.7% you can see it in the Github too.

About the difference... There are others post more detailed, but a simple example I made in a small rig with 4 Cards... More than 24hours running. Same server same cards, same OC...

212.97 Mhs Software lolMiner vs 217,12Mhs Software with PhoenixMiner... that mean I should earn nearly 2% more with PhoenixMiner...

The reality is:
2159 Shares with lolMiner vs 2092 with PhoenixMiner. Difference 3% between numbers of shares, 3 %more money with lolMiner, we are payed by shares in the pool not for the Mhs...

I know we all like to see lot of Mhs but the reality is other... Also the Watts are more in PhoenixMiner compare to lolMiner too but that is another point, to talk about.
results are good thanks for sharing. 1 question how can i set core memory voltage speed on lolminer?

Hello guys,

I am having issues with lolminer setup in ethos. Below my configuration file:

maxgputemp 85
stratumproxy miner
#BEAM
proxywallet my_adress.733d0f
proxypool1 beam-eu.leafpool.com:3333
flags --cl-global-work 8192 --farm-recheck 200
fan 733d0f 25 35 30 45 35 28
globalminer lolminer
safevolt disabled
cor 733d0f 1150 1150 1150 1150 1150 1150
mem 733d0f 2150 2050 2050 2050 2050 2050
vlt 733d0f 900 850 850 850 850 850

Miner loads properly, it connects to the pool but it disconnect immediately after. Any suggest?

You will need to set the flags for lol mine (command line options)

lolminer=flags —beam

i put this after the globalminer lolminer line
anything you need to set by command line option goes on the lolminer=flags (no spaces for that first part).

OK many thanks for your reply. So going back to my config file I need to have something like this right?

This is what I get from the miner:

In my file it is not splitted...I don't get the error to be honest.

If you put 2 screenshot of you actually load file and the  error execution will help a lot to find the problem. Because it seems a config problem in the launch file

The config file is as follow. I have the remote file configuration so I can access to it from any place:

maxgputemp 80
stratumproxy miner
#BEAM
proxypool1 beam-eu.leafpool.com:3333
proxywallet MY_WALLET_ADDRESS.733d0f

About error execution what do you mean? When I open the miner with "show miner" it says "Error: Your input to --pool "rofile=ETHOS" can not be split into a address and a port. Please use format <pool address>:<pool port>"

Let me know if I need to provide something else.

About error execution what do you mean? When I open the miner with "show miner" it says "Error: Your input to --pool "rofile=ETHOS" can not be split into a address and a port. Please use format <pool address>:<pool port>"

Let me know if I need to provide something else.

Please, the 2 screenshots... the miner is reading other file, and with this information is nearly impossible to help to find the problem. ..

This is what I get from the miner:

Error: Your input to --pool "rofile=ETHOS" can not be split into a address and a port. Please use format <pool address>:<pool port>.

#BEAM
proxypool1 beam-eu.leafpool.com:3333
proxywallet MY_WALLET_ADDRESS.733d0f
globalminer lolminer
lolminer=flags --coin BEAM
flags --cl-global-work 8192 --farm-recheck 200

Thanks for the quick response. I would like to help you with pictures but I don't get what screenshoots you are looking for. Is there a specific command output or log file you would like to see?
I mean how can I see what file lolminer Is reading?

try

show miner

this command will show the output from the miner and let is see what error you are actually getting.

Please advise version of Ethos you are running.

And change line

stratumproxy enabled

This may be your issue.

Miner is running EthOS 1.3.3. This is the screenshot of the error I am getting. Even with "stratumproxy enabled" I am always getting the same error.

What is confusing me is that before I put "--coin beam" and lolminer didn't recognize it. It gave me the "unknown coin" error. I changed it to "--coin BEAM" and it recognized it. It means this thing is reading the config file.

OK I discover the command "gethelp". This command generates a log file.

I studied the log file and I have discovered that all the config file of ethos is used to generate this command:

# cat /tmp/minercmd

============================================================================

su - ethos -c "/usr/bin/screen -c /opt/ethos/etc/screenrc.lolminer -l -L -dmS lolminer /opt/miners/lolminer/lolMiner -profile=ETHOS -usercfg=/var/run/ethos/lolminer_config.json --coin BEAM "

============================================================================

I also checked the lolminer_config.json file. It is this one below:
______________________________-

{
    "DEFAULTS": {
        "DEVICES": "AMD",
        "APIPORT": 42079
    },
    "ETHOS": {
        "COIN": "ZER",
        "POOLS": [
            {
                "POOL": "beam-eu.leafpool.com",
                "PORT": "3333",
                "USER": "MY_ADDRESS.733d0f",
                "PASS": "x"
            }
        ]
    }
}

It looks like the problem is created by "-profile=ETHOS" in the miner command line above.

I hope this helps you to help me guys. Sorry for me being a such a monkey.

Can you try to write this line:
lolMiner -c BEAM -p beam-eu.leafpool.com:3333 -u MY_ADDRESS.733d0f  --pass x --apiport 42079 --devices AMD

If works we have done 1st step

if I give that command it says "command not found".
I guess EthOS is a linux but customized so it doesn't work this way. I tried to gave that command directly from the miners folder ( they are inside /opt/miners/) but it says the same thing. I guess the goal is to get that line in the /tmp/minercmd file it generates by himself. The big problem is that I don't know how to get rid of that "-profile=ETHOS". Basically lolminer considers the -p like the option for the pool address and "rofile=ETHOS" like the pool name...what the hell eheheh

ssh into the rig

cd /opt/miners/lolminer
and should be the directory with the miner (if not do cd/opt/miners and the ls to see the miners)
the .json file is there for the config and you can edit the config file for it using nano.

you can run the command from jgonzi as it is just manually executing the miner.  You may have to do a disallow first to prevent ethos from trying to run it.
