I agree. Litecoin is getting stronger for now. The time will come to be even better Cool

i hope it becomes more stronger.. current price looking not that good with bitcoin movement...
i wish me too mate , price is stagnant at the moment! but we have to hope litecoin will rise soon, maybe we do have to wait just little bit! Hold your coin and be patiente Wink

The fact that the price is, and has been, so stagnant shows strength to me. Is it a quick way to make money like other pump and dump coins? No, thats a good thing. The simple fact that things are stable to me says that people are buying daily which keeps the price from crashing. People who are forward thinking know that LTC is a good coin to buy even if its not a quick way to profit. You can and will profit long term.

Maybe we are not sure about, but ltc deserve to be at that price since long time ago! Litecoin compare to other project deliver so many update, hope to see the next years litecoin at 300 dollars minimun!
Now i have some few questions to people that are more expert than i am, i am concerning about bitcoincash , how could be possible to trade an altacoin totally free 100% like bitcoincash at 350$ dollars each one, where all this money are coming from? how could be possible have litecoin with such strong community at 0.013 and bitcoincash 100% free money at 0.1 or 0.2? what is goin on , look huge speculations on it , what do you think about ? thanks

It's very simple, really. Ppl want to buy it, so they pay for it. The more they want it, the higher the price. If more ppl want to sell than buy, price goes down, and so on.
The actual usage of the coin, its purpose... have nothing to do with it. At least at this stage. It could as well be grains of sand. If sb wants to buy it...

Online retail giant Overstock has partnered with blockchain startup ShapeShift to accept more than 60 cryptocurrencies as payment at its online stores.

With the announcement, Overstock.com shoppers can now use ether, litecoin, dash and bitcoin cash at checkout, a move that follows Overstock's early embrace of bitcoin as a payment method. Overstock first began accepting bitcoin for payment in 2014, and it has remained active in developing the technology, even launching a dedicated subsidiary to focus on applications.

The price of litecoin continues to hover near all-time highs, even as the technical advances that sparked its revival are being added to other platforms.

Just a day after miners on the bitcoin protocol effectively agreed to upgrade their software to support a code change called Segregated Witness (SegWit), litecoin is trading at roughly $48, according to data from CoinMarketCap. The relative stability is notable given litecoin's price boomed on the news it would adopt the change, one originally designed to redefine and increase capacity on bitcoin.

Exactly this is my thinking too. People are too busy with other markets to make quick bucks and are not paying attention how LTC is being accumulated and then suddenly it will start running without letting big margin for day traders with other markets. We may expect easy 40% to 50% increase in short term.

I'm hoping it will, I have a lot of regrets not holding litecoin had hundreds of litecoin in the past now I only have 50 litecoin left now I'm a believer and will never sell it again, now that's gaining ground.

I recently saw that the hashing power of Ethereum is way larger then the hashing power of Litecoin. As far as I know both are GPU mined. Correct me if I'm wrong, then I take everything back Smiley. So my statement:

Just one mining-pool of Ethereum can easily destroy Litecoin. So why does Litecoin have any value associated with it at the moment?

Let me correct that for you. Ethereum's hashing power is a little bit lower than Litecoin's. The reason for that is that Litecoin uses Scrypt algorithm, which isn't the same as ETH (which uses Keccak or SHA3 and the POW is Ethash). To put things into a little perspective: Litecoin's Scrypt algorithm is about 1000X more difficult to do (more memory intensive) than SHA256D; the Bitcoin POW. So basically 1TH of Bitcoin mining will only translate to about 1Ghz of Litecoin mining within the same chip power.

If you would like to test it out yourself, I suggest you take your Ethereum Mining rig and try to get it to mine some Litecoins. You will understand my point very quickly since your GPUs will literally be mining dust if you try to mine Litecoin with it.

I suspect the reason why no one has answered you is because this is actually pretty common knowledge and they have far better things to do than me

thx I've not done so much research on Litecoin so far, because I was not interested. But why you compare GPU mined coins with ASIC mined coins and not Litecoin with Ethereum. You compare Bitcoin THz with Litecoin GHz why not compare Ethereum THz with Litecoin?
