"Price chart analysis suggests litecoin could soon revisit record highs.
If so, the development would mark a reversal from last week, when the world's fifth largest cryptocurrency reached new heights at $341.80, only to lose ground to bull market exhaustion.
However, most notably, the subsequent dip to $251.22 on Dec. 15 low is now proving short-lived.
As of Monday, LTC is trading back above $300, averaging $320 across global exchanges. As per CoinMarketCap, it has appreciated by 0.4 percent on the day, but the sharp recovery only underscores the market's strong "buy the dip" mentality. "

The price of Litecoin is very undervalued and we can definitely expect it to go much higher.
I would be happy if Litecoin stays at around $300-$320 by the end of next year.
next year or this christmas price will be up. well, litecoin going better than others.

the time right now is like this, trade whatever you want, then buy more lits, its just the end of BTC era, ...at least for me, made 2x 50% in Neo and Quantum, sold them when declining and bought more lights, but i have so fucking hard time seeling lights for any other coins, its like i would be selling something i know it will be high as 1K-2K, before halving...but to buy more lights its ok. so light grow more, but ofcourse not so fast as some 1-5B market cap coin.

We had forecast a range bound trading in Litecoin and that is likely to continue for the next few days. Support exists at the 38.2 percent Fibonacci retracement level of $243.86. Similarly, the bears are likely to offer a strong resistance at the highs of $342.23. The bull run will resume on a breakout and close above the lifetime highs. That will open a target potential of $497.53.

Personal experience making transactions with Litecoin: great. Better can be only Ripple, which is PayPal. However, the transactional cost will be as high as bitcoin's one with the price growth.

Very good market summary. We just broke 342$ but bears showing strong resistance and price is fighting at 358$. I see double top at 5min. chart so there will be price reversal I hope not for long and good time to fill bags if you are not in the market. Next stop 500$. Finally, Litecoin found his share in the market.

FALSE. LTC is 1/4 of BTC. Confirmed even by Charlie Lee. Will never be 1:1 with BTC. PERIOD.

Nope, Stellar is faster but you are correct in that the transactional fee may become  too expensive to be afforded by the average person  if the price grows

I don't understand at each increase why some people start comparing one coin with other based on their own wish without taking in consideration external factors. LTC is increasing that is very good and let's enjoy these times by concentrating on these profits times. Who knows what future holds for anyone.

Litecoin has skyrocketed in value this year with its latest all-time high bringing the altcoin's year-to-date gain above 8,000%.
The digital currency which is very similar to Bitcoin..
rose to as much as $360.93 today according to CoinMarketCap.
Litecoin has been enjoying a continued rising movement this year which has resulted in some very handsome gains.
Bitcoin has had a very strong year climbing from less than $1,000 to nearly $20,000 on the CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index.
While both digital currencies have have great years Litecoin has risen far more than Bitcoin which has climbed less than 2,000% in 2017.

Litecoin's market was suppressed for long long time and what is happening this is all is reaction. Most importantly the use cases and new exchanges which let many people the opportunity to put hands on Litecoin. After last correction general sentiment looks bullish in this market.

Lite coin is becoming more popular day by day.We the hodlers buy wait and invest more if we can afford. On the other hand lots of whales try to manipulate the prices and take what we have in our hands. The only way to survive is not to panic and wait.

I'm not convinced that there is deliberate manipulation. Traders are simply using LTC (and ETH) to move coins between exchanges. Large volumes can often simply be a large holder of BTC moving a few coins for trading. and long as the BTC/LTC markets are stable, then LTC is a good tool to move money with lower tx fees.

Greetings, friends at Litecoin!

As Komodo Platform has been working around the clock to fine-tune the multiple GUI's that are the face of our Agama multiwallet and BarterDEX atomic swap protocols, there have obviously been many bugs found and many debugged. However, one bug in particular was found not only in our Agama GUI wallet, but also in the zcash4mac GUI swing wallet. It is a simple bug, but it warrants your attention. This is a potential money cost bug, and as a Bitcoin-protocol cryptocurrency, your GUI wallet(s) may be susceptible. We are reaching out directly to the developers and communities of the 60+ coins featured on Agama and BarterDEX as the bug may have a direct impact on you (via your own wallet).

watchonly-GUI bug: 'watchonly' addresses appearing as your own in GUI wallet; users could potentially send funds to the address, unaware it is not theirs or available for withdrawal. You can import <any address> and it becomes a 'watchonly' address. The GUI will display the address as yours, add its funds to your balance, and accept deposits, but cannot be withdrawn. This could be a normal address, my address, a p2sh address, satoshi's address, etc. This can be confusing to an end-user and will lead to many headaches for the developer, as is always the case with misplaced funds.

FOUND: in Komodo Platform's Agama multiwallet (fixed) and zcash4mac GUI swing wallet (@jl777B: "newest QT wallet seems ok about watch only, but not sure of older and when it was fixed")

ex. @grewalsatinder found the bug in his zcash swing wallet: https://i.imgur.com/sVd0QTL.png

Quote from: jl777B
"satinder used zcash4mac, ie. the zcash osx GUI, not ours... the assumption is no GUI out there properly handles watch only addresses, until proven that they do... agama also had this bug, which we found and fixed, so it seems a very common bug to have"

SOLUTION: For the 'watchonly' address or any address not yours, the value 'ismine' returns false. Any such address gets filtered out.

QUESTIONS:
  • How does your recommended GUI deal with watchonly addresses?
  • Does your GUI display watchonly addresses as different than actual addresses in the wallet?

We need to experiment a bit to see which approach gets a better response triggering the bug. People WILL lose money if they send funds to a watchonly address.

Quote from: jl777B
"the t3 addresses in the 'Own Addresses' column! and they absolutely cant be as they are p2sh addresses. it is clear proof that the bug is very real and anybody that understands a p2sh address will understand it cant be something in your wallet. it is usually a multisig address, so only if it is a 1of1 multisig (possible but very silly) can you have a p2sh address that is spendable, but the wallet wont even know it... normal addresses can also be watchonly, which makes this even worse. in that case it would appear in the list of addresses just like all the others. even if you are able to spot p2sh addresses visually, it wont be enough"

We want to spread awareness and facilitate discussion of this bug to minimize the impact.

Of course - we can always talk about how you can use BarterDEX today to trade Litecoin via atomic swap directly with your peers, through our beta GUI and without downloading the entire blockchain ; ) That is how we found the bug, afterall.

Stay safe,
Jay

Litecoin creator Charlie Lee has revealed on social media that he sold and donated all his Litecoin holdings over the past few days.
The announcement was meant to show he no longer has a conflict of interest in promoting the altcoin but the timing has sparked some backlash against Lee.
Founder of Litecoin Charlie Lee has informed the community today that he no longer has any meaningful direct exposure to the cryptocurrency, having sold and donated all his Litecoin holdings in recent past days. Writing on Reddit he explains that this was done to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest when promoting Litecoin as someone with so much social influence.
Lee reassures his followers that this does not mean he is quitting Litecoin and will still spend all his time working on the cryptocurrency he created. Lee also explains that he will continue to benefit from the growth of Litecoin – just not by holding the cryptocurrency itself.
