Looks like high risk buying now. I hope litecoin can keep the 100$ level, but I find it extremely unlikely. A dive to 30-40$ or even lower is my bet.

...

OMG, this is even worse. Where do you find this crap?

I m good with crap Smiley So now look at this project, this is scrypt too https://bitcoinxs.org/

That's 5 minutes of my life I'll never get back. You need hobbies my friend...

The crappiness just went through the roof...

Sad This time I ve got real pearl https://badcoin.net/

I like this one. It's got attitude and surprisingly little BS. Kind of like Dogecoin, but bad Cheesy

Zen Koan: The way of scrypt-pow mining and the road to enlightenment
---------------------------------------------------------------------

If you are mining LTC and losing money with electric vs price and halving in 16 days means you are 2x underwater

does the sound of 1 hand clapping of Litecoin matter? If any sh*tcoin gives the same result?

or can you mine Badcoin or something else with the same result? The either of Scrypt-Pow and LTC now broken?

no profit, no material wealth earned, thus (wait for it)

Achieving Englightenment!

(translation: no worries we are f*cked)

Brad

Future will show this soon. I m thinking that BADcoin will be popular like verge or digiByte. This is strong multialgorithms coin. Look at his website and each day new podcasts on exchange https://www.boaexchange.com/market/BAD_ETH. Many known coins was a shitcoin in beginning. BAD team not sleep and they working hard.

lol...it has not had any buy action in a month $0 per day .... it's a pump and dump I'm afraid

Price has been 0.00 since June 20th and then it has had only a max of $12 volume per day since and 0.00 price.

going no place..nice try thou newbie account to pump this

all things being equal mining LTC at a loss or this at $0.00, well, that does pose metaphysical questions on if you should be doing either coin indeed!

Altcoins Back on the Rise With Litecoin Leading the Charge

''The crypto markets are once again back on the rise with Litecoin (LTC) leading the way in the top 10 cryptocurrencies at CoinMarketCap.
LTC is up 13 percent over a 24-hour period and is currently changing hands just above the $100 resistance at $100.72. ''

It's a trip to read the OP, written way back in 2011.

Just posting to mention that LTC has been added to AltMarket:

Under $85. Well, I got in at about that price on the 'assumption' that due to the Litecoin Halving (now 12 days away) we would be at least around $120 by now. Well that was

a 'dream' it seems. Along with the high difficulty and the fact that about, IMHO, 75% plus of all scrypt-pow miners (Bitmain L3+'s) are likely to get pulled off of Litecoin for sure

with the halving. We are gonna have a real mess on our hands. At current prices, even the Innsilicon units at $3.5K are not really worth buying. So we will see.

But looking like, as usual, the 'real' Litecoin silver to bitcoin gold coins are 'forks' of bitcoin recently like Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin SV. Indeed, even the 'dubious' Bitcoin 2 coin

with master-nodes seems to follow Bitcoin price directly and in proportion. Alas, not Litecoin. Charlie may have been correct when he got the hell out of Litecoin for good. Sad

Ah, well, at $85 or above I'm still good, but man, mining is gonna take a real hit, which means all them miners are gonna dump LTC for real-life payments on data halls, etc.

Looking ugly.

Brad

Unless the protocol offers some great advances over the original then its very unlikely to take up the support already behind the main fork.    Its been tried plenty times but the consensus stays with the time tested blockchain unless there is some great problem requiring a split, in this case I dont see the variation is enough of a detail to produce success especially.
I'll follow it all the same out of interest, I use to mine BTC on my CPU and I wish it was still this way  Cry

In 2 weeks it will be possible to understand the feeling of the market with the ALTs. With the reduction of LTC emissions per block, what happens here will reflect until the end of the year. It's just an opinion.

Litecoin appears to be still in the bear market. Can we expect a breakout soon?

Litecoin actually went its far ride (its bottom around 0.005 BTC). At Litecoin today price, investors who bought it at bottom range nearly doubled their price. Litecoin will unable to break out (if it should be called as breakout) if bitcoin won't fall down more significantly. Personally, I don't see reason why Litecoin should break out from its today price. I could be wrong and overpessimistic about Litecoin future, but who knows?

BIG WINNER!

litecoin price right now along with the btc price if btc price go up then litecoin price will also go up. unpredictable future about not only litecoin its almost with every altcoin. and some people said that btc could go to zaro value, i don't think so
litecoin could break 100$ target at any time soon by my personal view

Litecoin appears to be still in the bear market. Can we expect a breakout soon?
Read more in this TA:

https://coincodex.com/article/4159/litecoin-price-analysis-when-will-the-bear-market-end-for-ltc/

Well, my concern is as usual, Litecoin Foundation is not showing us anything of note for future tweaks to Litecoin.

Thus no info/hype etc and a lot of FUD from others on Litecoin and it just kinda piles on. Need some better PR and innovations soon IMHO from the Devs.

What they need to do is talk more about 'mimblewimble' IMHO. Not sure it would matter 2 much if even the halving in 5 days or so is not generating much press.
Could actually make things worse. Pretty sure the current Trump Administration will have a COW, once they get their head around mimblewimble.
But again, IMHO, Litecoin would AT LEAST for once do something 'daring and innovative' besides just plodding along in the shadow of Bitcoin and BTC prices as usual.

As far as mining goes for LTC, we are utterly dorked. Not sure how that will shake out, but I suspect after the halving, pretty much ALL the Bitmain L3+'s will go away.

Also, IMHO, Bitmain L3+'s comprise about 75% of all scrypt-pow miners out there.

Indeed I did the calcs on the Innsilicon A6+ LTCmaster at 2.2gh and 2100 watts in which at these prices before halving IN FIVE DAYS is currently losing, now,  -11c a day.
Also, Innsolicon still wants like $3,000 USD. NOT counting the 25% tariff and 2.6% import fees to the USA nor Shipping to the USA as an example of how out of reach this stuff is for LTC mining.

https://www.innosilicon.com/html/a6+-miner/index.htmlnfor this beast yet! Sheesh.

So, even if I am correct and the Bitmain L3+'s are lost to LTC difficulty, not a lot of fun happening with the rest either, that also doesn't seem to have enough pop to get any profit
after the halving and at the current LTC prices.

https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/innosilicon/a6-ltcmaster-1

Sh*t is conspiring to drive down prices for LTC coin itself and mining LTC in general and the competitiveness of LTC vs other Altcoins is really, really being pressured at this time.
Whatever I'm still in HODL mode for my LTC I purchased at around an $85 USD price, back before this last pump. AM in no way mining LTC anymore though.

Just hope tougher times are not ahead.

With a few days left to halving, I don't think the price will move significantly until then. Although everything is possible in this market as some 2x appreciation for example.

A rule embedded within litecoin’s (LTC) code is set to soon reduce rewards for the miners who today ensure transaction processing on the world’s fourth-largest blockchain by total value.
Litecoin price over the last 30 days via CoinDesk data.

In approximately five days, litecoin will undergo a scheduled reward halving – a process aimed at preserving cryptocurrency’s purchasing power.
The mining reward is currently set at 25 litecoins ($2,500) per block and will drop to 12.5 litecoins ($1,200) per block on Aug. 5.

With that transition, the protocol will be adding significantly fewer litecoins to the market after Aug. 5.

It is gonna be interesting in the ancient Chinese Curse of Interesting: May you live in interesting times!

So, again, (see previous posts on this thread), IMHO, I think about 75% of all LTC Scrypt-pow miners are Bitmain L3's or L3+'s.

Thus they are underwater at these prices. As of now, that is $96.65 LTC at say 10c kWh. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/litecoin/

So as far as Bitmain units in relationship to LTC difficulty mining we could see a lot of stuff dump, and then if the price was to recover a lot of Yo-yo'ing

of mass amounts of difficulty being turned off and on in an attempt to beat difficulty when down with the prices and driving difficulty up when all these

SAME low hanging fruit and these units try to get back on at a profit ..then off .then on...could be in for interesting times.

Of course, If LTC prices stay under say $150, then the network will go down in difficulty I mean way, way down.

But still would be modest to downright embarrassing on what you would be making and dubious ROI on even the $3,000 USD at  2.2gh 2100 watts Innsolicon A6+ which

I list here https://www.innosilicon.com/html/a6+-miner/index.html

Here is profit as of this moment for one of these, again, before HALVING in like 4-5 days for LTC.

Currently making at 10c kWh $1.36 per day!

According to the ASIC Miner Value Page here: https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/innosilicon/a6-ltcmaster-1.

Assuming all is the same more or less price wise etc on the LTC

halving that would be, again after halving 68c a day!

Damn, that is downright embarrassing. Of course, some $$$ would be made if my view of the Bitmain L3 and L3+

making up the vast majority of LTC miners. But again, even after all that shook out, this could be disastrous for Litecoin as a viable coin at a viable price.

Anyway, I won't get into what this might do to price or HODL or anything else.

Just saying from the mining point of view, IMHO, this looks pretty dire. I mean to me, really, really dire!

Some PR from the Litecoin Foundation on Mimblewimble and/or halving and/or other efforts/or other progress/or something would be helpful.

But alas, deafening silence. Sad

Anyway, my 'suspected' fears and rant on this.

Hope I'm dead wrong!

Sry, i don’t get your Point. Profit from mining will be reduced but it’s still profitable?
Even Bitcoin (and a lot of altcoins) has this “problem” in the past, they keep mining in hope one day the return of investment will be positive.

the overload will be too much IMHO if Bitmain L3's and L3+ units go off the network at these prices.

The question is IF everything that mines even at above $150 price of LTC, can't justify the price vs electric..who is gonna mine?

Never saw it this likely to lose 3/4 of hashing ON TOP OF the price vs difficulty as it is now.

Just saying a variety of factors that are gonna make things worse in the short term

Also, in the PAST new Scrypt-pow miners at better efficiency usually was an option around these kinda events, I don't see any investment in such at this

time to mitigate the above either.

Anyway, 3 or more effects combining to make this very 'interesting' on how all this will play out mining/cost of coin/and LTC in general

again, hope I don't know what the F*ck I'm talking about, but looks 'sharp-edged' at every angle I can see in the short term at least for LTC price and adoption

with above drama.
