These accounts are involved in almost every shady actions here:

- merit-Trading,
- bounty cheating
- buying/selling/hacking accounts

Exactly the amount of merit they need to rank up. And the merit was given for shitposts.

Accounts connected (strong proof):

Sold / hacked for sMerits:

CoinTasker https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=150257

Bgpsq already tagged https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=176128

Proof:

Recent merit

Dumbtool45 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=965234 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=965234

Main account, there is already an accusation against him, but he could escape, so he started cheating again:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3162720.msg32942955#msg32942955

Profile:

All accounts sending him merits seem to be hacked or sold for sMerits:

chandra12 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=392563 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=392563

Jeremiesaranza https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1320011
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=1320011

Bgpsq already tagged for merit abuse from The Pharmacist: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=176128

Vivland also hacked / sold
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=902444

Fanatic26 – most likely sold or hacked for sMerits, stopped posting:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=648651

EDIT: Fanatic26 confirmed he was hacked, but is now back in control of his account. No further action required.

Miscellaneous:

Merit transactions are all done between July 01 and July 15.
Very suspicious merit trading, not normal merit activity for these shit comments.
Dumbtool45 and Jeremiesaranza are in the same signature bounty.

I know this do take place in the forum because I have seen a very interesting post with good lesson and very educative but never get single merit and those rubbish post will be getting merit as if it's water, I think it time to start checking and balancing the way it's been given, good one .

I don't think these kind of posts will get merits, because most of the merits were shared in technical, meta and local boards, other boards were receiving less merits because some of the sections were spam and these sections is just to find the scammers.

It sure is shitty that no one was able to help me get my account back after this. The messed up thing is it was not hacked via any of my devices. I really dont understand why its so hard to take 30 seconds and set my email back to the original that it had been for years so I didnt lose the account.

Also there needs to be some serious promotion of the "signed bitcoin message to prove ownership" because in my years on this forum it was never mentioned anywhere except in a help section I never needed until I was hacked. It should be front and center EVERYWHERE so people dont lose their accounts due to the site managers refusing to ever help.

<snip>
So you're saying that's your account?  Do you have any proof of that?  I'd be happy to tag it, but if you can't verify that it's yours I won't.

As for the rest, there's not much that's going to be done IMO.  It'd be nice if DT members tagged suspected merit abusers, but the fact is they're not.  Hilariousetc just caught a whole bunch of them in that creampie spitball thread and no one tagged any of them.  I agree it sucks that people are doing this, but it's kind of the consensus that they're going to be allowed to keep doing this crap.  Eventually the sMerits will dry up, and most members couldn't get them if they tried.

Yes im saying thats my account. I have been posting from the same IP for years on it, it would be easy to verify as I am using that same IP right now. As I said, I was never informed that I needed to post a bitcoin address just in case I needed it recovered. I can describe PMs including the last one I received before the account was stolen but I dont know what other way you would like me to prove it. Its all right there in the server logs. I dont care about the merits, its a useless system. I dont need to scrape pennies from sig campaigns I would be fine if my account was reset to zero merit. I just want access to the 3 years of PMs and info that I had saved there.

Heres a question: Why cant it just be reverted to the original email address on file? The account is locked, I can show the email where I locked it after realizing it was hacked.

Here is a screenshot from my email that you can match PMs to:

Here is a screenshot of the email that was sent when it got hacked, this is where I locked the account down so they could not use it:

please refer to this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4624272.msg41758381#msg41758381
He says it is fine to have as many multiple accounts as long as you dont abuse bounties.I am only using this account as of now and if you find these accounts in the same bounty in the future i would accept the red tags that anyone will give if and only if i did cheat. As you can see i barely posts in a day and i dont really use these accounts at the same time but for now a neutral tag would be acceptable.

Merit is important if you want to rank up,since most of the people in this forum are for bounty hunting so they need higher rank to get more rewards so they are finding new ways to get that merit like sharing between alt accounts or just buying it,but these are against the forum rule and you will be tagged for these kind of activities.

But if you are here for learning and sharing what knowledge you have got you no need high merits. Smiley
