So by dead you mean having a network over 5 times bigger than your little baby in Tenebrix? Nice one. In 18 hours SC2 has grown 5 times bigger than TBX, must be disappointing when you spent so much time writing text into that automated website generator eh.

5 times bigger? You forgot that 90% of the hashing power @SC2 is done by BitcoinEXpress? Don't make me laugh, please.

People will walk away from a coin that has a 10,000$ premine in 24 hours. Not done by you this time but by BE... You know Ferrari uses the block generation speed of SC2 as a spark-pulse generator for the 2012 F1 engine? They accelerate by adjusting the difficulty with a botnet.

In breaking news Ben Bernanke just sued Solid Coin because it prints currency faster than the federal reserve. The good news for Coin Hunter is they offered him a job in their hyper-inflation research department. The only question that remains to be seen is can SC get the world record by outprinting Zimbabwe?

Solidcoin2... Hundreds of thousands of coins mined in the first 24 hours with most of them going to bcx's botnet. Why 51% attack when the difficulty is stuck so low?

Solidcoin2... Hundreds of thousands of coins mined in the first 24 hours with most of them going to bcx's botnet. Why 51% attack when the difficulty is stuck so low? Well not everyone lost. Coin Hunter's personal wallet was increased by 50K or so coins due to the "glorious leader reward" every 2nd block and he didn't even need to mine a single coin. Not one cent in electricity or mining hardware and 50K coins. What is the ROI on that?

It's a sad day when the best thing you can say about your premine is it's less than the guy who thought grabbing 6 years worth of network capacity was a fair amount. Of *COURSE* tenebrix has less capacity, you'd have to be a complete cretin to buy into that chain "long term."

Looks like the actual SC 2.0 premine could be as high as 13m+.

Not could be, IS. Whether 12m of those are spendable or not (beyond the slow bleedoff into CPF, which is at least a transfer mechanism) is up for debate.

What CPF. They bleed into Coin Hunter personal wallet file.
Rather than have a 10% tax he simply hid it by having a 5% tax PLUS another 5% coming from these 12 million coin slush fund.
Eventually all 12 million PLUS another matching 12 million via 5% tax will end up in his personal wallet.dat.
No wonder if was closed source. It doesn't matter if it is spendable on day one or not. Nobody could spend 12 million coins on day one even if they wanted to so that restriction is dubious. Either way it is earmarked for the personal wealth of a single entity.
Plus he indicated he has keys for all 12 million premined coins. So if at some point he gets tired and want to revert to a simple premine and crash scam he can and nobody can stop it. The claim that the 12 million coins can't be spent is false.
Then again the good news is w/ difficulty so fucked SC 2.0 could have 24 million+ coins minted before the end of the month.

Had he disclosed the 13 mil premine I doubt we'd have seen anywhere near the same kind of adoption. Hell, the bitcoin millionares were probably instructed to get EC2 to pump up the appearance of adoption with. Ten98 was one of the top miners on squidnet.org, I think we can guess why now...
Managed to sell my SC windfall on btc-e. When I started selling there were 80 BTC up for grabs, down to 64 now.

So far, "premine affects adoption" theory has seen zero confirmation in actual reality.
Now, shitty code and ill-constructed diff adjust, those will leave a dent. Or two.

Well you have no idea how much premining affected adoption of your coins. I like some of the concepts but once I learned of premine I lost any interest. Sorry nothing personal against you (or any developer or any chain) but I don't believe any currency based on not needing trust while at the same time including a premine thus needing to trust the owner/developer will do the right thing. So premining does affect adoption (at least somewhat) HOWEVER I can say personally "having internal obfuscated wealth transfer mechanisms is far scammier than a premine". Maybe at some point in the future premine can be done in such a way that doesn't rely on trusting an individual. Some innovation where coins are held by the network in aggregate and issued based on consensus of hashing nodes to developers, bounties, and non-profits. Until that point premines are a non-starter. The larger the premine the larger the non-starter.

Heh, an even better dreamtech would be a laundry that doesn't need a huge-ass buffer to guarantee transaction history debridement.
Also, if you don't trust the dev, why do you trust pool-ops and exchange ops to do the right thing? Or for that matter, the peeps who just happen to have enough BTC to crash the market (of whom there are likely many)?
BTC has SPOF-trust shenanigans like everyone else.
The problem with CH is that his strange obfuscated shtick is harder to track than my humble premine (which everyone can track easily) and that his diff adjust fuckup (as well as other fuckups we all know too well about, see the first AF incident) does not bode well for hypotheses about the quality of his other code.
Hiding sources (something I never did and never will do with TBX) is also not very good for trust.

It's only dreamtech until it isn't. 5 years ago if I told you the idea of bitcoin in high abstract level it likely would be labeled "dreamtech" That would be ossom, I'd love to live to see it happen But so far, Huge Premine laundry is the best route known to man Also, see edit above on SPOFs
