Locked for now. Still fixing the contents. Sorry

I was just thinking about this idea the whole time and this idea will surely encourage a lot of members here in Bitcointalk. I want to introduce "Achievements".

As we all knew, almost all sort of games has achievements and that make it's player get more encourage in playing. How about applying achievements here in our forum? Not bad isn't?

Advantages: This idea will somehow encourage members from doing different good things.
Disadvantages: No disadvantages yet.

Here are some examples of Achievements that I think will give you interest. Have fun reading.

Additional Informations (Must Read This First):
1. About the "Reporter Badge", since Admin theymos is not yet confirming the selected badges, it will be blank for now.

2. I used the Recognition ribbons that I suggest as a "Merit badge" for receiving 50 Merits to 300 merits so that it can be upgraded to medals soon. But anyone is free to suggest your badges if there's any.

3. About the "Poster badge", there is something that I need to clear first.
   A. Poster Badge 3 (Reach 150 Activity "Must be a Full Member")- This badge will only be achieved if a member reached 150 Activity and is already a Full Member. If a member reached 150 Activity while its account rank is just Jr. Member or Member then the user will never get this badge.
   B. Poster Badge 2 (Reach 300 Activity "Must be a Senior Member")- This badge will only be achieved if a member reached 300 Activity and is already a Senior Member. If a member reached 300 Activity while its account rank is just Jr. Member, Member, or Full Member then the user will never get this badge.
   C. Poster Badge 1 (Reach 500 Activity "Must be a Hero Member")- This badge will only be achieved if a member reached 500 Activity and is already a Hero Member. If a member reached 500 Activity while its account rank is just Jr. Member, Member, Full Member, or Senior Member then the user will never get this badge.

4. "Unique Merit badges" are the upgraded Recognition Ribbons, it is now Medal. Anyone is free to suggest better medals icons if there are any.

5. About the "Unique Poster Badge", Just like the Poster Badge it should follow the same pattern.
   A. Unique Poster Badge 3 (Reach 800 Activity "Must be a Hero/Legendary)- This badge will only be achieved if a member reached 800 Activity and is already a Hero/Legendary Member. If a member reached 800 Activity while its account rank is just below Hero Member then the user will never get this badge.
   B. Unique Poster Badge 2 (Reach 1000 Activity "Must be a Legendary)- This badge will only be achieved if a member reached 1000 Activity and is already a Legendary Member. If a member reached 1000 Activity while its account rank is just below Legendary Member then the user will never get this badge.
   C. Unique Poster Badge 1 (Reach 1500 Activity "Must be a Legendary)- This badge will only be achieved if a member reached 1500 Activity and is already a Legendary Member. If a member reached 1500 Activity while its account rank is just below Legendary Member then the user will never get this badge.

6. About "Trust Badge", to encourage members to become completely honest and good member of the forum, I suggest this Trust Badge as a reward/achievement for members who will be given Positive feedback from DT Members. Each Trust badge requires certian amount of Positive Feedback received from DT Members. I suggest to use BTCforJoe's shakehand icon for the Trust Badge as it signifies a good transaction/bussiness.

7. "Top Merited Badge", since we have a list of Top Merited Users I suggest that we award those Top 3 Merited users with these badges. This will encourade other members to compete with each other and make good posts to receive Merits in order to be in Top 3 Merited users (I'm planning to add achievement for top 10 Merited users too, I will add it soon). But I think since Admin theymos is the Administrator and satoshi is the founder, we can exclude them from this Top Merited users ranking to give other members the opportunity to become Top 1. I want your suggestions if were going to use "Top-Merited users, all time" or "Top-Merited users, recent time" as the basis of the ranking.

8. The "Trusted Manager" badge will somehow encourage campaign managers to become a loyal manager. There are already some campaign managers that should receive this badge as they are already Trusted. A Moderator or DT Members are the one who will define if a particular campaing manager should be a trusted one. By the way its just optional.

9. "Staff Badge" should be given for Staffs only. If you want to earn this achievement then you shoud become a staff. This is just Optional and still looking for a badge.

10. "Moderator Badge" should only be given to Moderators, just like Staff badge, if you want to earn this achievement then you should become a Moderator first. This is just Optional and still looking for a badge.

11. "Global Moderators Badge" are entitled for Global Moderators only, if you want to earn this achievement then you should become a Global Moderator. The badge is a Globe and signifies a Global Moderator. This is just Optional.

These badges are more similar to a Trophy for achieving an Achievements.
If you guys like this idea of "Achievements" I can add more additional achievements later like badges for users who have Top Merited Topics and replies etc. or you can suggest if there's something in your mind.

Where can we able to put/see these badges/trophies?
I called it "Badge/Trophy Cabinet" and it should looks like this when in profile page

And looks like this when not in profile page
The space marked with red is the space for the Reporter badge (If Admin will put it in there). Including the report badge with these achievement badges is a pretty good one too.
I suggest that the highest tier of badges are the only badges that will show up when not in profile page. Example if you have Merit badge 1 and Merit badge 2. Only Merit Badge 1 will be shown.

So what do you think guys, its just my suggestion and I really had fun making these. Please don't put my work into waste, a simply "I like it" can take my tiredness go away lol  Cheesy

Note: All amount of Merits, posts and Positive feedback in this idea was just my own suggestions same to the icons used. Any adjustment can happen anytime. If you want to suggest please specify the reason why.

By the way thanks for reading and please leave your feedback and questions if any.

Well that escalated quickly, theymos was only thinking about some kind of appreciation badge for post reporters and you made a whole idea out of it and all I can say is that I am impressed with what you have done. Showing some kind of flair in your account is nothing to be shy off and is actually good as you and other persons would see what kind of achievements you have done in Bitcointalk, the only downside to this is the admins would take some time to put this kind of system and it will also depend if this idea is a good thing for the forum.

Could you link me to a post/thread that has more information on this?

@Op. With all due respect, we are mature adults here (most of us I believe). Having achievements badges on every single activity is what pokemon players would like. It's better if the badges are kept exclusive to members who walk an extra mile to help the forum. Finding and reporting security issues for instance.

@Silent26:
Nice job!
Only one thing: we should have this "badge place" switchable in the profile, if someone don't want to wear them, let's have it switched off for those

Having achievements badges on every single activity is what pokemon players would like.
First of all, I retired being a Pokemon Player years ago  Tongue Second, by just looking at the thread and matching the Badges to it's description, we will really notice that there are designated badges for every single activity like what you said. But these badges are not that too easy to get like what I stated in the "Additional Information" and these are not for kids who plays pokemon.

That could also be a good function. There will be no problem adding such function once the idea was somehow implemented. It will be a lot of work for sure.

But I'm sure that this idea won't be implemented anyway. I just shared what comes up to my mind that maybe could help members to encourage more.
By the way thanks for the feedback. It's a nice addition for this idea.

sI don't see any good reason for post badges, merit badges, and staff/moderator/Global moderator badges. People can see who has received merits and who has increased their activity and who is staff and Global mods. All moderators are staff but all staff aren't moderators, 3 of them are patrollers.

I like the campaign manager badge idea, but it would be subjective and it won't derive the best result. And reporter badge are already on its way.

If for fun then i'll go for all the badges being introduced. Tho some of this can really be redundant since there are already labels for this type of users. Like the mods staff or the dt members.

For example:
Merit badges - merits has already its own label and having a high amount, users can easily distinguished its position.

Posters badge - This type of badge is absolutely not necessary since again we already have a label for it. "User ranks"

The same thing for trusted badge - the "trust" label is much specific and more detailed than the badge

sI don't see any good reason for post badges, merit badges, and staff/moderator/Global moderator badges. People can see who has received merits and who has increased their activity and who is staff and Global mods. All moderators are staff but all staff aren't moderators, 3 of them are patrollers.

I like the campaign manager badge idea, but it would be subjective and it won't derive the best result. And reporter badge are already on its way.

same here, since there is no label available yet for those good campaign managers who are constantly fighting spamming by taking only good quality posters to their campaign. For me they deserve badges.

As well as the reporter's badge is good since this type of effort are barely recognized. Unless you are actively telling people who are being involved to spamming activities.

We don't need badges for numbers that are clearly visible and need no interpretation.  As I said in another thread, using an icon in place of a word or number is just silly to me, and activity, merit, posts, and whether someone is a global mod--those are all things written clearly right near the avatar.  Badges would just muck things up IMO.

As far as the reporter badge goes, I have mixed feelings about it.  I don't think reporting ought to be a competition, which is what it'd turn out to be.  And all the other proposed badges are just more things stupid shitposting noobs will be jealous of and wonder why they're not earning them.  Then they'll create threads in Meta asking why they don't have these badges....I would predict those things and more, because it's still happening with merits all the time.

Well I think a lot of people as well as me appreciate what you're trying to do here I just don't quite understand that the advantages (or) point of these badges would be maybe give a better explanantion? What would be the incentive for getting one of the achievements other than just having a cool looking trophy/badge on our profile?

I don't know... It seems a good idea, put a lot of things should be done into this forum before that.
We're still typing into a not mobile-friendly forum, thinking about badges and trophies is a bit weird imho..

Well, I lost all my confidence to support this idea after reading your reply which seems to be right and yeah, I think it's really stupid. I just don't know what comes to my mind to create such idea. It's really a waste of time also if will be implemented as it will take a lot of time to apply to the forum.

And I don't want to be the reason for those shitposters to ask multiple questions about badges here in Meta. I realised that even Merit System is not yet moving on from these shitposters.

Well, I don't need any more feedbacks for now. I'm now locking the thread before people get mad at me/my thread. Thanks for reading and for all of your replies.

Sorry but I won't answer any further replies now. Locking the thread.
